  1. Look, I get this has become your personal quest to destroy whomever tells us they have insider information, but we don't need another thread turned into a passing match over it. You made your point. Again. Let it go. It will either pan out, or it won't. Soxtalk can collectively decide for itself what the information is worth.

  4. I love Vaughn. I could trade him, but if I did it’s for an dynamic front line cost controlled player…not Montas.

  5. Most of us appreciate you sharing man. I personally don’t know if you know anything, but at least you aren’t a pompous prick about it. We appreciate it.

  8. - Hector's buddy started a rumor Montas to sox was close - Pal fanned the flames - Ray Ray ranted - Caulfield pulled a Bob Dole - Rumors died down - No mention of any frozen penises.....yet

  11. The Reds traded Gray for Chase Petty. Vaughn has far more trade value than Petty. Rough couple days for you

  14. Thanks. I'm a fan like all of u. There are people on here u trust who can vouch for me. I lucked into info. If this isn't true or doesnt get done I'm sorry. I dont post shit I dont think is close (still stand by Vaughn info last year). This sounded done an hr ago. Nothing has changed with that other than white Sox dave pissing on it. He's gotta have better sources than me, but I'll stand with it.

  16. THey can get Montas without Vaughn. To be honest though, if they can ride this ship till July, Syndergaard will likely be available (not buying the Angels at all). Syndergaard will be a hell of a lot cheaper than Montas.

  17. Not sure I really understand this critique. We don’t have a single position player debuting as a rookie on this team, and the only debuts in my head have been banks and now severino. And considering rosters are at 28 that doesn’t seem out of step to any other roster let alone one with multiple injuries.

  23. If Colson is traded I'm going to cope via my assessment that he didn't look that impressive in the 2 games I watched him play this season. 😅

  27. Yeah, I mean this is an exciting start to the season but I don't think what we are seeing is out of step with that ranking and still think it's what it deserved. But here are reasons why I think it was valid: - Unlike previous white sox dead last farm rankings, the system does include quite a bit of talent that could become high-end. But much like previous dead last rankings we have these huge depth issues where multiple positions have no help close to being found. SP makes up close to 20% of a major league roster and it's a bunch of 40 FV guys and MILB depth until you get to A+, and I'm talking about Burke there, who has a lot of arm build-up left. - In 2018-19 our farm was super fun not just because it had a bunch of high-end guys, but they were all performing. 2021 was the inverse of that, while we had some successes in guys like Romy, Rodriguez and Ramos emerge with really good years, our high-budget draft picks of Kelly, Dalquist and Thompson had atrocious years. Our Kanny young hitters had mostly atrocious years (Beard, Gladney, Bailey, Previously promising pitchers like Stiever and Lambert reaffirmed they were now just fodder after coming back from injuries. - Possible Guy Norge Vera didn't play, and exciting pickup cespedes didn't light the world on fire as a for-his-age prospect in High-A. So basically we have a farm with a bunch of potential (Thompson, Dalquist, Kelly, Vera and added Kath, Montgomery, Macdougal) that hasn't come close to showing it yet and is viewed with more skepticism, while guys that are performing (Rodriguez, Sosa, Ramos, Mieses) are building up a case but still viewed skeptically (though ramos probably about to burst through, my sweet boy Rodriguez is still viewed at arms length as just a UTIL guy unless he improves hit tool). And when you compare that to other teams, it's lack of immediate top 150 guys sticks out, and then guys we are excited also have guys like that in every other org. But that said, with a 2019-esque year on the farm, it could jump up quite a bit because they are a young group. AND our bottom of the league farm of the early-mid-10s produced way more major league impact than would have been predicted. AND guys that were just considered bleh like Sheets and Burger last year have contributed quite a bit to the major league club. It's not destitute, but it isn't inaccurate. The main thing for me is they just need to add MORE. More more more more more. Bigger LatAm, and I don't know that we can afford these 2020 like classes. I think looking back I'm totally cool with 2021. Kath was not as expensive as I remember, and we did some big work in the 11-20 range.

  30. I love how the guy turns into an OBP machine and now is hitting XBH too and now ofcourse we have to move him. I fucking give up. This team just hates left handed savages. It's like they enjoy getting owned against RHP and getting exposed by elite RHP in the playoffs. There's alot of people out there that take pain as pleasure. I just didn't think these folks would be in our FO.

  37. Can't believe they're pitching Velazquez for the home opener. At least Keuchel is a name.

  38. Keep your hitting shoes on boys...I think we might need to put up some crooked numbers. Didn't like what I saw from Velasquez in Spring Training but maybe he was working on some things.

  40. Severino has gotten hit around quite a bit in his 3 AAA appearances so far this year. But as others have said, he's on the 40 man and this is probably a brief stay just to get an extra body up.

  41. Think its more than a little surprising teams like Baltimore, KC, Oakland, Washington, Miami, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Colorado wouldn't take a roll of the dice. All it costs is a roster spot, and if he sucks, you cut him. Good news for the Sox though, even if he's still unlikely to make it to the bigs in 22. I assume he'll be milb FA at the end of this season if not added back to 40 man?

  43. I said this on the other threat regarding Vaughn but I'll say it again here. The Sox should not trade Vaughn unless the return is absolutely silly (something like Montas + Murphy + Pache) despite the obvious need for pitching. Montgomery or Kath? Sure. Those guys are in the next wave and the Sox are in a title window. Jose Rodriguez , Sheets, or Burger? Fine. They'll all likely be solid big leaguers but wont be part of the "core". This would very much be like trading Eloy for Quintana. If you're going to trade a future star like Vaughn it should be for a Scherzer type player. "Cost-Controlled" pitchers are somewhat overrated in my opinion. You can easily lose an entire "cost-controlled" year to TJ and unlike hitters, the decline of pitchers tends to be much steeper than hitters. That isn't to say that cost-controlled pitching isn't extremely important/valuable, but the price to acquire it makes it a huge gamble. I would much rather see what the Sox have with Cueto and let Lopez cover some starts until Gio and Lynn get back. The offense is going to bail them out of enough games to make it worth just waiting and seeing how bad the need for pitching is. A package around some of the lesser prospects should help get a guy that can tread water in the meantime should the Cueto experiment blow up. I'm all for picking up a player to keep Gio, Lynn, and Cease fresh and to keep Keuchel from reaching 160 IP. Trading Vaughn to get Montas after not even offering the QO is inexcusable. Look at what the QO is doing to Conforto's value (combined with his shoulder). Im not sure teams wouldve staked the money AND a draft pick on Rodon, but I digress. The point is that I dont think a team competing for a world championship should trade a top pick and likely franchise cornerstone for a 3 starter (albiet a very solid one). I would rather pay for a top flight rental that'll be a Game 2 starter behind Gio.

  44. Or maybe, just maybe, Carlos Rodon had pitched 34 Innings in 2019 and 7.2 innings in 2020…meaning Rodon reaching 150 IP in 2021 was always going to be a stretch. Carlos is on a short term contract and is 29. He still has another large contract in his career if he is successful with the Giants. Furthermore, if the Sox offered the QO, his value is hurt in the FA market, and I’d be surprised if that 2/44 offer is even out there. He could have accepted the offer or the Sox could have signed him to a 2/40 type deal? Given that it’s just money at that point, and the Sox decided to spend it on guys like Vince Velazquez, Josh Harrison and Joe Kelly, while having fairly massive holes in their current rotation….seems like a miss. Lastly, I’m going to judge the success of Rodon off a little more than just W’s, but that’s just me.
