  1. Overall, they need to be better in the first few quarters. They can’t win at the latest minute with this inconsistent defense.

  2. Here's the other thing I don't understand about the way the Bears handled the final few minutes and I hope someone asks Johnson about this. Right after the interception the Bears have decent field position and there is still about 2:30 minutes left. Why in the world are you throwing on first and second down? Why are you stopping the clock and allowing Detroit to keep their last time out? Run the damn football. Even if you don't gain a yard you either burn off about 1:15 or force Detroit to use that time out and you still take some time off the clock. Detroit has less time to work with and no time outs. if they still score with no time outs and less time on the clock you tip your hat to them. Take the game to overtime. Just really bad decision making in my opinion.

  3. I say if the Lions score again, just rest the starters the rest of the way. No need to risk injuries.

  4. As much as I like Ben Johnson's aggressiveness and I know its his former team and Dan Campbell, but I would've took the 3 points. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

  5. January 4, 1941 - The White Sox made a savvy purchase, acquiring righthander Joe Haynes from the Washington Senators. For next to nothing, Chicago secured a valuable pitcher throughout the decade. Haynes came to the White Sox as a reliever, and in his first full season on the South Side, 1942, led the A.L. in games (40) and games finished (35), picking up six saves with a 2.62 ERA. Eventually, Haynes would move more or less fully into the starting rotation, and in 1947 finished with a 14-6 record and league-best 2.42 ERA. He was rewarded by being selected for the 1948 All-Star Game. For his career with the Sox Haynes won 55 games and saved 14 others. He was traded to Cleveland after the 1948 season for Joe Tipton. The Sox then traded Tipton a year later for a youngster named Nellie Fox. January 4, 1993 – The Sox signed off-injured outfielder Ellis Burks to a one-year deal. Burks would have a breakout season in 1993 and finally stop the revolving door in right field (at least for that season.) Burks would produce 17 homers, 71 RBI’s and hit .275 in the divisional championship season. He’d catch the final out to clinch the division title that season as well. In the six game A.L.C.S. he’d hit .304 with seven hits including a double and a home run and drive in three RBI’s. He also walked four times. Unfortunately, then G.M. Ron Schueler, wouldn't give Burks the multi-year deal he was looking for when the season ended and he left for Colorado where he became an All-Star.

  6. White Sox linked to two players here NOTE: This is their Bonus Board rankings, not necessarily where they're ranked in the class

  7. I disagree. I love mine. Have for 38 years. Plus, many of the people I know past and present enjoy working for Reinsdorf. He treats them well.

  8. Honestly really like getting the Packers. Not only is it probably the best matchup for the Bears, but if they win...everything else this season is truly gravy. If they lose, it will be pretty heartbreaking, and hopefully it's a kick in the ass to put them over the top in the offseason.

  9. North Central College of Naperville is leading River Falls at halftime of the natty game in a lower division. If NC can win, I hope they hold a parade in Naperville. Not easy to win a natty.

  10. How is it states make money building stadiums for these teams? If it is so lucrative why does the state still owe more money for Comiskey Park II and the Soldier Field renovation than the total cost of their construction?

  11. Of course he will be. Let's just say the Bears have to fix a lot of things before next weekend. If they don't? It will be "one and done" in the playoffs. Detroit had nothing to play for today, NOTHING and shredded the Bears defense. And they did it with a lot of starters out. They're damn lucky Washington upset the Eagles or they'd be looking at the 49'ers again and that's a sure loss. This defense has been atrocious three straight weeks and has to be fixed this off season. Period. End of story. The Bears should be embarrassed by their performance today.

  13. My thoughts exactly, and at home vs our most hated rival...pull that one out, I'll be a happy camper and the rest is just house money.

  14. It's been a great ride this season, definitely moving in the right direction. I will be more than satisfied with squeezing out a win next week at home and eliminating GB, this defense is far from being a serious SB contender.

  20. If you can’t get up at home for locking down #2 seed and 2 home games against Campbell who dominated them earlier, I fear a one and done in playoffs.

  22. They play like this in the post season and it’s going to be curtains very early for this team. Not ready to pass any judgements as the defense hasn’t been THIS bad the entire year, but it’s trending in the wrong direction.

  23. The offense hasn’t done anything, but they haven’t had much of a chance with the lousy defense being played.

  27. I feel this is a jinx but still I can’t get over how high strung I was through October that Caleb may still not be the guy or Ben may not work and it really felt like in that Eagles game I finally got to let go and watch football without the story lines of “is this the person that delivers me or should I keep one foot out ready to jump” and just got to enjoy watching bears football trying to win. To be sure, that was a lot of lovie era, just being annoyed we weren’t quite better but often just being in the moment. From Mitch thru Justin, it was extremely “can we believe yet”. Glad that’s over.

  31. How about this for a thought. Typically the best path to being an effective major league starter, is to start games as much as possible. Are there exceptions? Sure. Are most starters brought to the majors as starters? Also yes.

He fucking ruined Glenn Sharpe's life. There have only been two times in my life when I was physically ill after a football game and that was one of them. I have been waiting since January 3rd 2003 for that fucking program to burn. Ohio State...from hell's heart I stab at thee. We Back. We FUCKIN. Go Canes! Hit. Stick. Bust Dick! Oh and f*** @caulfield12 for saying we would get destroyed.
