  1. We're on pace for 63 wins coming off the worst season in modern MLB history and a subsequent 100+ loss season. Spare me the dumb troll. In fact spare this forum.
  2. 9-14 = .391 win% which projects out to 63 wins. Nope, this is pretty much in their lane. But I guess as bad as things have been, the victory lap ceiling gets easier and easier to take.
  3. Not a bad loss in my book. The young slugging core had great games at the dish. Some old guys who suck gave up a bunch of runs. Okay.
  4. I could exhaust the effort of locating whatever fall league post game or Sox blog interview, but what exactly would be the point? You've already indicated that you would wave it off as something he's just saying to be a "good soldier" because you've already decided that you're right. That's fine! I'm not here to bicker with you. The overwhelming majority of what I post here is MiLB content, bits of news, quirky statistics, and my personal opinions. If you interpret that as spin or whatever then I happily, eagerly encourage you to utilize the ignore feature instead of the random personal accusations.
  5. Hagen is not ready, but Shane should be soon.
  6. Hope they continue to hit homers when they are back in town. A revival of the SouthSide Hitmen please.
  7. Colson, Murakami and Vargas hitting well is far more important than what these mediocre pitchers do in the long run.
  8. 3 points
    Bone me.
  9. Colson is currently 7th in all of MLB in RAA defensively on Fangraphs. I think it's time to consider that he's a full time SS until he's in his late 20s.
  10. It is nice to see this team win the first game of a series more often this year. I feel like they've had a knack for dropping the first game of a series for quite some time now.
  11. Fun watching some actual big leaguers! Obviously this team still sucks, but it's fun to see Colson, Mune and the Ant Man do some work. Schultz was always going to be a stud, never a concern there. I still find it fascinating that even when things are going well, they're still making bone headed decisions like constantly playing Colson at a position that isn't short stop despite him being an elite defensive SS. Feel better about my 68 win prediction than I did a couple weeks ago where it looked like maybe that would be a pipe dream. Our positive group hiding and covering their eyes and, apparently, keyboards during tough times and then coming out of the woodwork after a couple wins is kind of sad!
  12. Man I have a wicked case of Deja Vu, I can SWEAR I've seen this thread before.
  13. "Hey buddy, your favorite team finally isn't embarrassing themselves anymore for the last few games. I bet you feel really stupid huh" - yeah, you really got me there lol
  14. 9 wins before May for the first time since 2021. Date to beat for 10 is 5/4. Would you believe the Sox are 3 games back in the wild card race? Lots of early underperformances across the AL, and only six teams above .500. The 13-10 Pirates are last in their division but would be a top 3 team in the AL. There are 3 teams outside of the NLWC at 13-10, including AZ. Dbacks were pretty hot coming into this series, going 10-4 in their last 14 (before yesterday) including 4 straight series wins and a bunch of comebacks. Top 3 bullpen during that span and batting .300+ with RISP. Their Vargas is also on the longest hit streak in the league (19 games I think?), extended by that garbage time HR. Taking another one off them won't be easy. Slight break perhaps to be catching them when they have no lefty arms out of the pen, with Colson and Mune hot. In addition to Mune's chance to tie the Sox consecutive HR record, he also has a chance to tie another record if his next HR comes before his first 2B/3B:
  15. Yeah, good idea. It would be terrible to have an experienced outfielder and good right-handed bat in the lineup as we chase a Wildcard spot into August.
  16. Just tried to buy a Murakami jersey but all sox had on site was the white pinstripes. No alternate/black/southside/83?? anything else????
  17. Both him and the team have said they want to maintain his versatility there, and with all the infielders in the system I'm fine with it. I'd put Colson on 3rd over almost everyone in the mix but Vargas, but there's more guys that I'd be fine with at short even before you get to Roch. I just don't like him playing 3B when it's to put Acuna at SS because I'd rather Acuna play almost exclusively CF.
  18. Care? I haven't cared in a long time. You don't have to care. It's simply dumb, not optimal, and disrespectful to a kid whose earned his name written in dirt behind ss. As I said. No other team would do it.
  19. You play, on average, 6 games a week. 4 out of 24 is 1 out 6. Did the VPN break your calculator too?
  20. Roch is a top 5 defensive SS in baseball guaranteed? Color me skeptical. No point in going on about it. Sox do something obviously stupid, and it doesn't count or matter i guess.
  21. Man i'm really pullin for Q but he has sucked in clutch spots this year. Last year he was Crede-esque
  22. He’s gonna get sent down when Teel returns is my prediction
  23. FWIW I'm a big Braden fan but I think he is very much the kind of player you could ruin by rushing him. He's got big whiff rates
  24. I'm not all that confident that Kay lasts the full season. The stuff all looks good but it seems like the hitters don't have that much of a problem with it
  25. dbacks broadcast has been great so far, they've been very complementary to the sox
  26. God I miss the days of pick to click. Now we have degenerate odds on +500 bets.
  27. If MLB.tv would stop making me login every other day that would be great.
  28. What scouting report was he reading to make him think he was a switch hitter??
  29. Damn, you changed your profile pic. Was gonna give you a present
  30. Keep hitting and keep playing good defense and the wins will become more consistent. Keep stacking Ws boys
  31. I believe that no team is as bad as they look in a slump, nor as good as they look on a winning streak. But the A's and D-backs ain't no joke. I get that we ran into a Blue Jay team down on their luck, and the Royals don't appear to be all that. But that's the game. Sometimes you're the bug and other times you're the windshield. It will be interesting how they'll handle the phenomenon of them playing something nearly missing .500 ball. I'd imagine they still trade off Fedde, Kay, Hays and McGuire as guys come back from injury and minor leaguers play their way into the bigs. If Dominguez, Newcomb and Hicks pull themselves together, those trades goose the pipeline.
  32. Since the opening road trip, the Sox are 8-9, pretty much a .500 ball team.
  33. If Murakami homers today it'll tie the Sox record for most consecutive games with a HR (5). https://www.mlb.com/stories/game-preview/825097?storylocal=web-scores-preview-embed
  34. We need to get Hays healthy, hitting and traded.
  35. FYI on Antonacci's HR: I guess it's different from a fan interference situation because the ball guy is authorized to be on the field. And the attempt for the ball was bad enough that they ruled it unintentional? Maybe didn't help that the fielder kind of moved to play it eventually instead of holding his hands up like you might see for a stuck ball. Sam did get the ball, apparently shortly after Bob smashed his phone camera with it:
  36. Mune and Colson say they have a dugout HR celebration in the works and coming soon.
  37. I would leave it at "Don't want to see Bido again."
  38. SOX WIN!!!! -Teel back soon -Hayes back soon -Hagen up soon -McDougal up soon -Gonzalez up soon -B Mont up too this year???
  39. Sox about to be 9-14! Panicans on suicide watch!
  40. 2 points
Sandlin done after two scoreless with 4 k. Davitt finishes 4 scoreless with 5k.
