  1. Believe me, @Chisoxfn has fought to get this fixed and he is screaming at a brick wall. He is trying
  2. I'm in the camp of enjoying this team because they are so much better than the teams of the past few years. I recognize they are still not a great team, but they are getting close to not bad. This team is actually exciting to watch with the energy and the (at least perceived) closeness of the guys. They seem to be having fun and playing their asses off. I think it's wild to see the team playing as well as they do with so many non-household names. Tristan Peters, Sam Antonacci, Derek Hill, Drew Romo, Bryan Hudson... That is what is making me believe. This team is probably another bat or two and some starting pitching away from being solidly good. And, yes, I know who owns the team; and yes, I know Getz isn't qualified to be a GM. So maybe they don't get that hitter or that pitching. But, damn, these guys are easy to like and root for, and a lot of fun to watch.
  3. No, it actually doesn't. If the White Sox were competing and contending the last two years, no one would be ecstatic or excited about a team below .500 pal. The Sox had the 3rd most wins in the 90's in baseball. No fan in the 90's was happy when the Sox were fighting for .500. It's very obvious that most people have changed their perspective because of the misery of the past few years. I will not allow this organizations incompetence to re calibrate my personal expectations, but you do you! I also simply don't break small samples down into smaller ones just to pitch a narrative. Baseball is a game of attrition, not a game where you evaluate possibilities based on smaller sample outcomes.
  4. My man, you will lift and move every goalpost ten miles away as soon as they hit #15
  5. Server company sucks ass /fin
  6. It never ceases to amaze me that even when the team is playing well, there are so many people who spend so much time worried about what others think instead of just actually enjoying it, especially since we all know the chances of it lasting. For all of the talk of "not caring about what other people think" why is every other post, about what other people think?
  7. The team is playing good baseball and definitely has an upward trajectory. My condolences to some of our posters.
  8. Nonsense. Several said it on Soxtalk right after the trade, including myownself.
  9. White Sox now 12th in position player fWAR at 4.7 with a 100 wRC+. The defense is surging, now 15th in RAA at -6.1. Pitching wise we are 3.5 fWAR good for 16th. Sox are 8th in xwOBA and 11th in walk rate. Last year they were 17th in walk rate and 27th in xwOBA. Right now this is a legit mediocre team with several young or still in their prime players contributing. Do I believe? Eh, I believe they are playing like a 78-82 win team, which is a massive improvement and should make for a fun summer watch. The pitching will regress, but the offense should stay around league average after Teel and Montgomery join, even with some regression from others.
  10. Most teams are going from Win10 to Win11. We are upgrading from Windows 95.
  11. 84 wins could win this division. Why not the Sox? I will always choose to believe, because fandom is a lot more fun when you do!
  12. Sucks that the Giants are going to outbid us and get him. They'll really like him in San Fran.
  13. Power rankings are about as worthless as Miss Cali’s predictions… “Some of us have seen the rise and predicted it.”
  14. Look, I have no idea what is so wrong in your own life, that you have turned Soxtalk into some kind of medieval crusade, but this facade you put up is complete bullshit. You do nothing but b**** about anything and everything, dragging your hurt feeling into every thread like some badge of honor, when you should be embarrassed for acting like a toddler perpetually. Even after years of being ignored, you still are so fragile, that you need to go after anyone and everyone who disagrees with you, AFTER YEARS. Project your insecurities onto someone else.
  15. They gotta fix it. Ever since the update. My Soxtalk consumption down like 1,000%.
  16. A chump by any other name .. How about sheep or that we should be embarassed ? Maybe do some long research into his posts 1st before you defend someone but you do you.
  17. Reinforcements: +Teel 1 week? +Hays 2-3 weeks? +Pereira 2-3 weeks? +B. Monty 1-2 months? Wildcards: Ben Peoples (Dominating AAA) Wikelman Gonzalez (Dominating AAA) Tanner McDougal Hagen Smith Shane Smith Jonathan Cannon Drew Thorpe Ky Bush Prelander Berroa Not sure on the timeline of Thorpe, Bush, and Berroa, but I think they are all expected to return this year. Did I miss anyone? Also - we are finally going to see more divisional matchups. 10 games the remainder of May and 12 next month. We've only had one 4 game series against the Royals so far. If we are still in the thick of it June 1st I will be a 100% believer.
  18. The Athletic has become a shell of itself under the Times' umbrella. A lot of click bait. Reminds me of the dying days of SB Nation, with management increasingly making editorial decisions and appealing to the lowest common denominator. Aaron has built up such good will I'd imagine he could survive simply on a Patreon and Substack at this point, and good for him.
  19. Well his watch doesn't begin till 2029... And why would ishbia tell this to a random fan....
  20. Start making moves like that, and we'll start a new rebuild in 2028. Run the place like the Brewers run theirs. When they have Ishbia's money, keep running the place like the Brewers run theirs + well-considered Free Agents.
  21. Winning the division will be more doable than a WC.
  22. Colson Montgomery's consecutive games on base streak ended at 21. Chase Meidroth extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Going back to April 5th and his last 17 appearances Bryan Hudson's scoreless innings streak is at 15.2.
  23. What about -Acuna -(Pick one of the AAAA OF's) +Braden Montgomery +Jacob Gonzalez
  24. Even crazier when you look at the innings and understand much of that aggregate is cumulative.
  25. I stick to they need to stack more assets so I'm very supportive of cap space for more picks. I'm also supportive for playing RFA market. They also need to be smart enough that they don't hamper themselves so much given the new lottery rules that go into effect. Everything I've heard so far from new president is refreshing compared to the previous one (doesn't say much). Almost feels like a do-over; We have Matas (Lauri comparison), Giddey (Lavine) and a 4th overall pick (same as bulls had). But I hope this regime treats this much better. Go nail the 4th pick and have right internal scouting view and lets not jump to trade future assets away for Vuc.
  26. I made pretty much the exact post a few weeks ago. They're in a really interesting spot where a case can be made a few different ways. I know reports are that they may be looking into using their cap space on bad contracts that come with draft picks, but i really hope they look into the RFA market. Getting a young guy like Peyton Watson or Walker Kessler still fits the timeline of these young guys hopefully developing into stars. Getting Ayo back would be pretty cool too but I think Minny brings him back.
  27. In more likelihood you could do Chase SS Ant 2B on Montgomery off days
  28. We need a SoxTalk dictionary. I’m sure I’m missing a lot more… Jedi Sith Panicans Propagandists Glum chums
  29. He's one of the original's - remember he was doing it back when SoxNet was in its infancy and before Soxtalk had spun up.
  30. I hope it’s not a pressed spear or pointed picket fence.
  31. 1 point
I'll continue to hope on the youth and results, but aesthetically I really don't like how Bonemer looks at the plate. Very stiff-looking. Just from seeing his home run swings, I would guess that he's a player who whiffs a lot because the swing looks oddly unathletic (although again, I surely don't deny the great results). There are plenty of counterexamples of guys who look a little bit odd up there and make it work just fine, so I hope he's one of them.
  32. Again, you just proudly proclaimed that when you get old, you don't care what other people think, yet here you are chasing people around still mad about what they think. Again take your own advice.
  33. In his last start he gave up 10 runs and the Padres owner publicly ripped him a new one.
  34. Evidently, if you are on macOS, this is done in general system settings rather than browser settings. Should be otherwise the same
  35. I can tell you how to fix that(probably): In your browser settings go to privacy and security. If there is another link for security, go there. you should see something along lines of use or enable secure dns, or use dns over https. Click that. Then change the dns server. This should reset the issue between your system and website, where your system is not recognizing certification of website. Let me know if this works so I can feel like a good guy for a minute
  36. Appreciate the effort! Can I get a super abbreviated cliffnotes version of the issue?
  37. Poster said they are playing like a 78-82 win team now does not equal saying this is an 82 win team over the course of the season. Hope that helps! Are you gate keeping team compliments now? I thought the mean stuff being said was negatively influencing executive decision making? I cant win!
  38. I don't think Danks pays much attention to the contracts JR has handed out lately . 2 years $34M has been the biggest contract in 3 years. Beating $5/$150M was never even a consideration for a 34 year old without a position to play.
  39. Guess we know who uses Verizon or has data limits .
  40. Psh, phone? I haven't had access to Soxtalk on my phone since like February. Absolutely blows.
  41. Yeah, last night Ian Eskridge hinted that he had heard Adams may have added velocity recovering from TJS.
  42. Never thought the Sox lineup would come together this fast. We really need another starter ASAP.
  43. Another good AL Central beat writer fumbled by The Athletic. He's been my go-to for keeping up with what's going on in Twins world, even though I'm (obviously) not a Twins fan. But I agree that he should find enough support to keep it going independently, and props to him for trying rather than ditching the team.
  44. Bruh. I shared this article 3 posts up. You even quoted and responded to it!
