  1. Someone posted weeks ago that the Guardians know how to finish — how to close out the season. The Sox obviously don’t, but hopefully this team will acquire that ability going forward.
  2. The most unlikely season of basically all time and people just want to be miserable babies about it.
  3. Wild card game 1 update: coleson Montgomery is already 0-2, 2 Ks. 🤣
  4. Getz and the front office failed this team. The acquisitions were suppose to help but it only hindered the team. Glad the boys still got in the dance, but it was of no help from them.
  5. Team with literally no pitching exceeds expectations by about 20 wins. Fans: this manager sucks!
  6. Last week it was they won’t win another game and will miss the postseason.
  7. Should have left Kolson’s ass on the bench where he belongs.
  8. Im not sure it would. If that game gets pushed to tomorrow with a double header it probably helps the Sox. Its really hard to win both games of a double header.
  9. I loved Jose when he was here
  10. Martin vs Quintana Two more wins
  11. I’m just happy they made the postseason
  12. Unfortunately the Castillo bust made the margin of error even smaller.
  13. They put in Schultz in the first inning. How is that not serious about winning?
  14. You try for the division 10/10 times. How is this even an argument?
  15. Good. f*** him. The one silver lining is he.gets no revenue from it.
  16. Anyone else wish Sam had bunted?
  17. Something I noticed with the data on Colson: at contact, his bat is more angled to the pull side than it was last season and that angle has been increasing over the course of the season. Also, compared to last season he is letting the ball get a few inches deeper (although he still hits it more out front than average). But this means his bat is more angled to the pull side at contact and contact is happening earlier in the swing path, i.e. the swing path is extremely pull-oriented. You'll notice that 1. he doesn't hit inside pitches well because he can't keep them fair and 2. as of late, he has a ton of loud contact that is pulled foul regardless of pitch location. In the first 600ish PA of his career, the rate of foul balls per contact for Colson was around league average (which is 52%). Since August, it has cranked up to about 75% as his bat angle has continued teetering toward the pull side and he keeps launching pulled liners. If you have a propensity to swing and miss and all your contact goes foul, you're going to strike out a lot.
  18. If you change that one thing this year, we'd be clinching with a win tonight.
  19. Should of started trying to keep the division a bit sooner
  20. THEY ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS
  21. Please almighty God, let the Sox win today and Cleveland lose, and then the Sox win tomorrow to take the division. Amen. LETS GO
  22. I would love for the Sox to be able to have a stretch like those three franchises have had. You can't win a World Series if you don't get to the playoffs in the first place. You get there, you have a chance. Beats sitting at home doesn't it?
  23. Just keep winning…if the Guardians are gonna drop one to KC tonight will be the night. Can’t afford an L
  24. No trust in our entire starting staff.
  25. The Sox are a plucky, morally upright team that is marginally better than the Guardians but has not had the benefit of absurd luck and the forces of evil
  26. I don’t know if we can say better, but Acuna is clearly less bad than Colson, clearly. Both offensively and defensively.
  27. They were 9 games over .500 with a 4.5 game lead on August 28th
  28. This season has been awesome. The team isn't built for the playoffs and there's no reason to care all that much about the seeding or matchups. Try to have a little fun.
  29. Should have let Acuna hit.
  30. Don't forget the error he made in St. Louis that literally lost us that game. You can excuse the blunders at short when he's hitting 40+ homers a year, but not when he's hitting .150 for a whole half.
  31. Yes, we lost a few games that we should have won but Colson Montgomery is the main reason we didn’t win the division, he’s been a disaster the second half, how many other teams would have stuck with a strikeout machine like him.
  32. I honestly don’t know what you do with Colson next year. He hasn’t been a major league quality player these last two months. Don’t think you can enter the year with him as your SS.
  33. Overmanaging bringing in the Montgomery’s there. Both Doyle and Acuna had homers earlier. Both Montgomery’s made outs.
  34. Colson is literally the guy you do not want in that situation.
  35. I really don't care that much about any of this. This Sox team made the playoffs and the team is full of good young players. Try enjoying yourselves a tiny bit before the season ends and we have nothing to do
  36. Will is the reason they won’t win the central. His decision making especially the last month has been baffling.
  37. Not liking these ABs. These guys still pucker up too much when they're behind in a game. Let him throw his trash ass change ups slow.... don't swing!
  38. He has no stones and folded like a house of cards. Will had a quick hook and thankfully.
  39. Luisangel HR??? OK, there is NO excuse for the rest of these dudes to not be hitting Quintana.
  40. Royals are going to roll the Guardians. Come on fellas. Get the lumber out.
  41. Deep breaths folks. We will be in 1st place in just a couple hours.
  42. LETS FUCKING GO WHITE SOX!!! TODAY IS THE DAY!!! WIN YOUR GAME AND WATCH CLEVELAND FALL!!!!
  43. You didn't hear what he said.....am I not human? Do I not have feelings?
  44. Then why did you throw him out of that game? What were you doing, Wegner??
  45. I’d like an apology from those who told me it wasn’t possible for Mune to breakout and return to form.
  46. Cleveland has now been in the playoffs eight of the last 11 years. They, Milwaukee and Tampa bay have found a formula that works for them and they do it very well.
  47. Do you really want to be next on @ron883’s list?
  48. The mistake there was pinch hitting Braden for Doyle, which meant that you had to leave Sam in LF in the 9th. That was just a brain fart. I don't think he thought that all the way through and it really didn't have anything to do with analytics.
  49. @ron883 you owe 4 or 5 peeps apologies, Sox came to play, hangover be damned.
  50. If Mune wants to put this team on his back then all I have to say is "JAPANESE!!!!"
