Good news is Antonacci leading off in place of Beni which I have been arguing for. Bad news is Beni is somehow batting 3rd.

Agreed but they aren't gonna pay 250M+ for a 1B no matter what, so if he's hitting 50+ bombs you're gonna need to cash out your chips when the value is the highest.

Choose a different haul if you prefer, but the point remains we could prolly get alot.

Yeah....if this continues, even if JR/Ishbia wanted to pay him, it could quickly become price prohibitive especially for a 1B and having an owner out there desperately wanting a big splash to get fans to forget about a dumpster fire team (cough....NYM...cough) might be willing to give up a King's Ransom (Benge or Ewing + Tong) to bring Japanese Godzilla to their media market.

Braden should be promoted to AAA first. He has improved walk rate, shown awesome improvement in game power and has gotten K% down slightly under 25% finally, but we still need to see what happens to the average and K% when he hits AAA. If it spikes to over 30%, he's gonna need a couple of months to work on it further. Alot of our guys struggled with the jump from AA to AAA. Need to see what he does with it first for at least a couple months but there's a decent shot he could be in Chicago by August or September. He should be promoted to AAA tho.

Imagine how good the rotation would be if we hadn't spent the offseason dumpster diving (again) and actually added a legit SP rather than this blue light special garbage that we do every fucking year.

Unfortunately, it's highly improbable that Kay could pull that off, especially if they stack their lineup with righties. Kay has been awful and his expected stats are even worse than his normal stats so it's prolly gonna get worse. IMO, if they flew in Hagen overnight and he threw only 3 innings mixed in with a bunch of walks it still would probably be better than Kay. I expect SD's bats to finally come alive against him.

If he's selling out for power then ofcourse the K rate will skyrocket. Yeah, I highly doubt Gonzalez is gonna displace Meidroth, at least not this year. Meidroth is on pace for somewhere around a 2 fWAR season. I'm glad Gonzalez is improving tho.

Pretty much the only real thing we got was salary relief. I wish him well and I feel bad for Luis. He still has alot of ability but can't shake the injury bug.

Another strong win. IMO, with Teel this is definitely the best team in the division.

Burke's improvement over last year is encouraging.

Beni has zero business leading off. This makes zero sense. His OBP is awful. Antonacci or Meidroth depending on the pitcher or maybe Teel when he comes back.

Last year he was better as a RHH, this year better as LHH, but the thing I've also noticed in the last couple games in particular is that his K rate seems to be coming down finally and ofcourse he is walking significantly more this season. The ISO is damn near .300 too which is awesome.

Great win. Good job by Schultz settling down after the first inning walks and ofcourse it's always great to see bombs by the two left handed savages. I don't understand why Beni is batting leadoff with his atrocious OBP. It should be Antonacci or Meidroth.

It's a little bit frustrating knowing that if we had even made a halfway decent effort in FA to get a semi decent SP option and also not had our starting catcher hurt we could easily be in first in this division. Would going to 120m in payroll instead of 100m or whatever criminally low figure they are at have really hurt that much Jerry? There's alot of interesting pieces on this team. Another good bat and a third reliable pitcher would make this a truly fun team.

Boenemer should be promoted. At least Hagen is missing bats and people are struggling to make contact on him. Command continues to be an issue but he's still improving as compared to last year. Still expect him to be in Chicago at some point the next couple months. Dude needs to replace Kay....even if he can only pitch 4-5 innings per start.
