  1. A pitcher doesn't have to throw hard to win games.
  2. When are people going to stop all the Colson Montgomery hype? He's hitting .193 at Charlotte, down from .214 last year. He's on the cusp of being a buster. Now Caleb Bonemer, that may be a different story.
  3. It looks like Robert's only value is being a Herb Washington-type designated runner.
  4. Maybe, Robert prefers playing in the non-pressure environment of losing White Sox baseball.
  5. Based upon sheer talent difference, the Cubs should sweep the White Sox.
  6. What difference does it make? Neither Iriarte nor Nastrini is any good.
  7. I think you mean Charlotte 7-13.
  8. In 39 AB, Robert has exactly one extra base hit and one RBI. That's remarkably bad.
  9. It didn't take long for the White Sox to have the worst record in the AL.
  10. So far, I would give Getz a D. If the White Sox win 61 or more games in the 2025, he will then merit a C. If the White Sox win 76 or more games in 2026, he will merit a B. If the White Sox win 87 or more games in 2027 and make the post-season playoffs, he will merit a B+/A-.
  11. 61. A twenty-win improvement necessary for Getz to keep his job and give validity that his rebuild may be working.
  12. Back to the Baseball Reference site.
  13. White Sox management made a mistake starting Montgomery in Charlotte. He clearly wasn't ready for AAA baseball. Hopefully, they will correct that mistake this season and start him at Birmingham. If fares well at Birmingham, maybe Montgomery can be promoted to Charlotte during the season.
  14. It's too early to estimate. We have the rest of winter and spring training to go before a more confident guess can be made. As things stand now, 50 wins seems reasonable. I might think very differently in three months or so.
  15. Dick Allen was a good, sometimes excellent player. He was no Hall of Famer. It seems politically motivated to me.
  16. Okay, I give. What's so special about Adames? Is it his lifetime .322 OBP, or his .766 OPS, or his mediocre fielding including 20 errors in 2024?
  17. Twenty-six million dollars a year for a lifetime .248 hitter? Money in MLB is bonkers.
  18. Based upon his awful 2024 season at Charlotte, Montgomery should be the opening day shortstop for Birmingham.
  19. Tommy John is close to a Hall of Famer, but probably not. Dick Allen, no.
  20. Based upon Montgomery's performance this past season at AAA Charlotte, he may be more suited for another sport other than baseball.
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if Vaughn goes and is replaced by Elko, a lefthanded bat.
  22. I don't understand how the big bat of Vargas isn't in the starting lineup.
  23. Eder with his 9.87 ERA at Charlotte should fit in well with the current White Sox bullpen.
