  1. Well I imagine they're thinking that a .167 average in the 5th game of the season after missing an entire year is probably not a big deal.
  2. The flatness of this game has a real 2022 stench to it. As long as it doesn’t become a pattern, just move on and take the series.
  3. I’m thinking they’re gonna need to score at least 5 with Clevinger going.
  4. Thank you for finding the words that I couldn’t. This is the overall reason I’m fine with this start.
  5. After three games, my negative takeaways are the bullpen doesn’t instill a lot of confidence and Robert needs get his s%*# together. Otherwise, this feels like a completely different team than last year. Give it a little time, y’all.
  6. I was scrolling through the thread too fast and read this as "Did leury get discontinued?" Same thing, basically, just funnier.
  7. Forgot about him
  8. They don’t need another shortstop, but they need another 2B. I’m not getting my hopes up yet on the Leury thing.
  9. Cease went 6 innings on just 41 pitches? I know it’s the A’s + 3 double plays, but that’s wild.
  10. We all want to see more from Yoan’s bat, but perhaps you’re taking for granted what it’s like to have a reliable, great defender at 3B. I don’t think I understand why you would downplay how valuable that is.
  11. Yeah but he made a music video
  12. Agree to disagree that Moncada is blocking a DH vs LHP.
  13. *When needed. But yeah, I imagine that's how that would go. Gross.
  14. No 4th (actual) outfielder?
  15. I imagine there’s resentment that he didn’t pan out as the face of the franchise superstar that the hype of being the #1 overall prospect tends to generate, so some people are just waiting for reasons to criticize him. Which is silly, of course.
  16. They've been relatively healthy thus far, so something was bound to happen. Injuries are more or less a guarantee, which is why it's incredibly stupid to have the approach of "if we stay healthy..."
  17. Is it vague leg season already?
  18. Basically Stay Healthy Night. First 10,000 fans get wacked upside the head with a rubber mallet upon entrance. If you're fine, congrats, carry on. If not, I don't know, maybe you should've crossed your fingers or something because there is no backup plan.
  19. 80-grade spring training lineup.
  20. Ugh, that sucks. Cue the obnoxiously smug 'told ya so's.
  21. It’s funny how the point was to take the blame off Tony, but it did the opposite. How exactly does an ENTIRE TEAM collectively play with less effort, less focus and a shitty attitude? If it’s just a few guys struggling like that, okay, that seems like it would be something more specific to those guys. But the whole team? Surely it’s just a coincidence!
  22. But by that logic, it's the same for the Twins. Correa and Buxton. Maybe Polanco if he stays healthy. Gallo had 19, so if we get the same baseball as last year, not him.
