How did you become a White Sox fan?
Was your dad upset u became a Sox fan? That'd be kind of a bummer if that happened. I know in our family Sox vs. Cubs was life and death. My dad's brother and his side loved the Cubs. My dad was a Sox only fan, wouldn't be caught dead in Wrigley so to speak. My mom's dad was a Cub fan. I went with him to a ton of Cubs games prolly from age 10 to 15. I enjoyed the games a lot. My grandfather wasn't an obnoxious fan but he did love a good Cub baseball game. He didn't even cheer much vs. my dad who screamed at umps, etc. A lot of times those Cub games were so crowded he'd have to buy us two single seats and I wouldn't even get to sit by him. Kids were different back then. No cell phones. I remember being engrossed in the games and enjoyed those games in Wrigley when the score got out of hand. Like 15-10 scores that happened a lot in Wrigley, balls clubbed off the Ivy and out of the park. I especially enjoyed getting there early with gramps and watching players hit homers in batting practice. At the exact same time, my dad had Sox season tickets and I went with him to many Sox night games. He also had Blackhawk season tickets and we went to a ton of games. I kind of had the best of both worlds getting to hang with gramps and my dad at different ballparks. However I was more drawn to the Sox. I remember going to a DH and being in nirvana. As a little kid I remember game one ending and getting to see the grounds crew put down the white chalk for the basepaths. I loved Comiskey and everything about it. Loved it more than Wrigley as a kid. Anyhow I digress. When we moved from southside Mt. Greenwood to Lisle to start my junior year of high school (Br. Rice over to Benet) I was exclusively a Sox fan and never cared about the Cubs again. Never. Didn't follow them during that rare year they won it all. BTW my dad got rich and our Sox seats improved. As a fricking high schooler and college kid coming home for summer I went to 30 plus games a season wit our box seats in row five. My dad's board of trade partner was one of the Sox many owners so he'd sit with the owners indoors and get drunk, thus I could take friends to fill our four seats at tons of Sox games. Those were the days baby. Row five at Sox park.

Athletic fired Fegan in Jun23, now hired with Sox Machine
That's a pretty neat, concise post. I would agree with you. Baseball is no longer special. It's still boring despite the changes this season. Not sure why pitchers' arms have become so brittle but I can almost feel the pain when they whiff our Sox on cutters.

MLB.com rankings...so impressed with White Sox that they remained 26th behind the Tigers
Sox frankly have a high ceiling of .500; it also could go the other way as we're well aware and they could finish 20 below. Not 30-40 below like the Royals.

Sox vs Marlins 1:10
Uh oh. We lose again in heartbreaking fashion after the Saturday game. Will the mentally weak Sox drop another 10 in a row after blowing that game Sat?

GT 6/10: MIA @ SOX, 1:10 pm CT, NBCSC, MLBN
True. The Sox bullpen does still stink in the overall scheme of things. If not stink I'd say it is HIGHLY unreliable. Woulda been interesting to see what woulda happened if Tim had gotten the force at home. Sox still can win division if bullpen is a 5 out of 10 on the rating scale. 3 or 4 and it'll be tough.

GT 6/10: MIA @ SOX, 1:10 pm CT, NBCSC, MLBN
Darn. I think the fans' boos said it all. Disappointing finish there. I'm gonna be so discouraged/mad if Sox let that one ridiculous loss become 2, 3, 4. It happened, Sox. Get mad and don't let this horrific loss send u into a tailspin. Stuff happens. Timmy closed his glove and muffed it. Stuff happens. I won't even comment on the relief. It was one of those disastrous endings. Knowing my Sox they will let that demoralize them. They shouldn't.

That's a White Sox Walk Off Winner !
Good job Robert. We win. Look folks, the gawd-awful start the Sox had now is a bonus. We're in the division race. It's not humanly possibly to play as bad as the Sox did in April. That had to be sooooooo depressing. Now? They have to be loving this. And they should feel no pressure the rest of the way after being considered pond scum by all of baseball so to speak in April. That had to be a long stretch of feeling like utter failures and embarrassed to face the media throng and fans every day. Hopefully these bullpen hacks can keep overachieving (liam leads the way! He doesn't wanna be on a pathetic team at this stage) and our younger players can keep elevating. Robert baby. Nice hit.

Tough break. He coulda made that play at 2B.

6/8 Sox @ Yankees Doubleheader Game 1 3:05PM CT
i'm old school but I woulda left Lopez in. He had good stuff. The more relievers u use the more likely you take the road 'L.' When the relievers are mediocre to lousy that is.

If we win this game I may start believing in Pedro ball. I said 'IF.' Would be understandable if it took him a while to get used to managing millionaires.

AL Central Records since Apr 29
I understand the sentiment but all I look at is Sox are 4 games out in early June. That's all we need to know. That's nothing. All the numbers and projections don't really matter IMO.

AL Central Records since Apr 29
Cubs and Sox in same division is so modern baseball. Trying anything to save the game which allegedly is boring to younger generations and growing stale to older generations. For some reason I've gone from knowing almost every big leaguer to knowing only the superstars plus all members of the Sox. I can't name 3 Cubs which is insane. I can name a few Royals position players (Chicagoans Massey and Lopez) and Greinke. That's about it. All I know is Cubs and Sox should not be in the same division. Gimmick, dumb, desperation of baseball.

Should they even play the last two games of this series?
Thanx. Smoke is no joke.
-
Should they even play the last two games of this series?
But why so much smoke. Not the first fire I've been to.
-
Should they even play the last two games of this series?
I need to read about this. Why all the smoke in the Big Apple? All I know is Canada has fires. Hope the peeps in NYC are OK. No fricking way they should play these games. Seriously both should be played at Field of Dreams in Iowa. Why not???

Moncada 2023 Edition
Moncada's bat has been abysmal. Those of us who care about batting average stat laugh at the fact he's had only 1 year with a BA over .263. horrid. His RBI totals for those of us who follow RBI are not gawd awful, but pedestrian for sure. He's hit 34 homers over the past four seasons. Basically he is stealing money as a hitter. However he's a dandy fielder. I'd try my hardest to get rid of him. Sox should try to get 2-3 warm pitching bodies for him if anybody's willing to pay him.

And that's a Gio and seby powered 3-2 White Sox over Yanks winner!
The title of the thread says it all. Those two guys. Also amazingly the Sox gawd-awful April no longer costs them the season. At 4.5 games out that start now means nothing. If they can avoid another losing streak of 4 games or more and can beat Central teams as they've sort of been doing under Pedro, they can win the division. Then in the playoffs anything can happen in this new era. No danger of getting shut out. You always are gonna have a chance going against 4-6 pitchers a game. Hilarious that this team still has a good chance at success.

White Sox Burger Grannie Walk Off Sweep Winner !
Another thing: It definitely has to help team morale to have our stellar closer back. Nobody can deny he's an elite baseball pitcher, an all star. Liam's presence definitely can help this team. At 5.5 games out of first, this team actually could contend in this division if it actually got hot and everybody started to have their proverbial career year from this point on. I'm not saying the team is any good but 5.5 games out means the team actually 'could' contend. Hope the guys actually want to build on this sweep and keep competing. This horsebleep team still could finish last but it also could contend. Stay healthy liam; get your head out Timmy; figure something out, Elvis, give us 5 innings every night, 2 or 3 of u starters. Stay healthy eloy and robert and start elevating eloy. Peace out.

White Sox Burger Grannie Walk Off Sweep Winner !
Sox are only 5.5 games out of first. Hilarious. Burger is for real. Seriously. He can hit. One can tell. Go ahead and trade Moncada if he won't go to second base. Burger can play an acceptable third while putting up a lot of HRs the next 7 years. 7 inning start? Glory be. His pitch count was low. Shoulda let him pitch 8 gosh forbid in 2023. Seriously folks. Burger is hitterish. He's not a fluke. His D at third is so much worse than Moncada, yes. But either trade Moncada or make Burger permanent 1B and get rid of Sheets or Vaughn. I like Vaughn but I'm pretty convinced the eye test isn't lying on Burger. Got to make room for Burger. Why are the Sox afraid of moving Moncada to 2B? He'd be great there.

And That's a White Sox Shut Out Winner !
We'll take it. 3-0 wins are nice wins. For some reason I still don't like the team but I can't fault this victory.
