COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
You are the one who is the master poster on here. Your sarcastic paragraphs are epic. Not just average, but A-plus. Your sarcasm is beautiful. I will say even you got me with this one head scratcher, though. I need to use my 29 ACT score brain and try to figure out your motive for this sentence: "You are the lone voice sticking up for the Nancy and Loris of the world who need great hair. We salute you G7!" Now of course I am very upset at Lori and Nancy P for their hair behavior. In my case, it was a matter of 3.5 months with no haircut and greg simply couldn't take it. I decided to include my angst on here and got reamed for it even though I didn't go get a haircut til my shop opened. Guess what? There was a renegade barber in Lawrence I coulda gone to and didn't. Yet NO PRAISE on here for me. Only no soup for me. Also not sure if you meant my presence was welcome on the board. Several members have put me on ignore and I think I have 3 popular posters on ignore. If I had to bet big bucks I'd say more would want me to leave than stay. Which reminds me, where is El Rockin?? Caulfield hasn't been around much either.

Jose Abreu AL Player Of The Month
He had a heckuva month. Has been a bit off with the glove the last two games but has been strong in all phases so far this season. I love Jose A.

Tom Seaver died
Tom Seaver was like Mark Buehrle. Smooth although he did throw harder than Mark. Seaver was so good even in his advanced age he was damn effective for the White Sox. Rest in peace. He was a true star.

Sox vs Twins 9/2/2020 Lopez vs Berrios 7:10 CST
I kept it on in case a position player got to pitch the 8th. ... If Ricky does get fired the new manager WILL be able to speak Spanish. That's going to be important for team morale with a lot of Spanish speaking guys. I can dream about Ozzie but I know he has no chance. Too controversial when he speaks to media. He can't help himself but make headlines the wrong way. ... Eloy had been OK recently on defense until the Minnie series. Ditto Jose. Wat's up with that?

9.1.20 GT | Sox @ Twins | 7:10PM CT
Tough loss. As Stoney said it was winnable. Stuff happens. Worst thing tonight IMO was my guy, Jose's error in dropping the DP throw and the lousy start by Dallas K. Oh well. Can Lopez come through tomorrow?

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I think you guys are insane (I say that in a kind way). For some reason I'm supposed to be perfect. Heaven help me cause I moaned and groaned about not being able to get a haircut when my guy, the barber, had a pristine shop and was willing to work with government to make sure everybody saw it was totally safe/clean. I don't know why I'm supposed to be perfect. Hmmm ... Pelosi today caught getting haircut and blowdry indoor salon breaking the rules in SF. ... Lori Lightfoot got haircut in Chicago at time nobody else could. And greg is bad? Crickets.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER
Once again, are you bleepin' me? Robert with the blast to win it. Dunning with the no no through 5. This is crazy stuff. Already more highlights this year than the last 4-5 seasons combined. Other highlights galore.

Padres Acquire Clevinger per Multiple Reports
That's true. But if I were an owner I wouldn't be counting on huge crowds and lots of profit until everything gets cleared up. Covid has shut down a country six months and counting and isn't over yet. Social issues are huge and we don't know anything about safety in cities right now. There's a lot of stuff going on that has to be fixed before sports is guaranteed to continue being a big moneymaker for billionaires.

Padres Acquire Clevinger per Multiple Reports
I would not trade with Cleveland. Just try to get a minor deal done with some team outside the division. Just let this wasted season play out. Covid still could play havoc with it.

Realistic trade candidates AKA The Lynnsanity Thread
Devil's advocate here: Giolito has shown on a given night he can be DOMINANT (no hitter). Keuchel looks like Buehrle, he just does. He looks capable of being very reliable in the playoffs. And Cease has the stuff to get hot when it matters. Finally maybe Gonzalez could end his career on a high note and give u five solid innings.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
I went 3.5 months without a haircut while obeying all government orders regarding the shutdown, distancing, etc. (Normally I get it cut every 4 weeks). I moaned on here a lot about how long my hair was and how it was driving me very crazy. I didn't have anybody to cut it. We're in an era where people care allegedly about mental health issues of our citizens. And yet I hear about this desire of mine to get a haircut amid covid again and again. BTW last time I got a haircut, my barber Rockie's shop still was social distanced with Rockie having just 2 or 3 barbers in a big building in there at one time (they trade hours around so the 10 of them aren't in there more than 2-3 at a time); customers can't come out of their cars til it's time to get in the chair. He's a perfect owner in terms of sanitary compliance. Meanwhile not a peep about the thousands of people marching every single night amid Covid. And still I get grief for my barbershop angst/take. Meanwhile, the governor sits back and lets KU open with the predictable spike in corona hitting town. What did I miss here. Greg is not the enemy to Kansas/America.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
You guys are so wild observing greg's posts. I call you all greg observers. I feel fortunate my words are recalled by many. (p.s. church update: My 5 p.m. Sunday Mass in a very big church has yet to have more than 25 attendees. Masks, sanitizer, etc., no more than 3 in a pew. It's been rather sad actually. No music. 45 minute limit on the Mass, usually ends in 35). Compared to many Americans, my Covid behavior has been stellar and I continue to pray none of us get it, including me, knock on wood.

Realistic trade candidates AKA The Lynnsanity Thread
I would trade McCann but I don't know what we'd get in this bizarre season, probably not much with him entering free agency. You think we coulda traded Collins to the Royals for the closer they traded today to SD? That might have been an OK deal as we could use somebody lights out to pitch in the eighth before our closer takes over. I like McCann and Collins, but trading one of them for great value wouldn't be so upsetting because either one of them can be a great backup to Grandal. I also would trade Cease if we can get a lot for him. I still think he can be a star but he's yet to emerge as more than a maybe type prospect.

Sox vs KC 8/29 game thread 1:10 first pitch
I thought we loved Burdi on this board. Second guessing isn't always fair.

Sox vs KC 8/29 game thread 1:10 first pitch
I worship Jose as some know, but for some reason my brain tells me he needs a day off once in a while and never gets one. Some of these veteran players I think get very upset at the manager when they are not in the lineup ... and some veteran pitchers (Verlander, Sale, even our own Dallas K) get very upset when the manager hooks them with two on and two out in the seventh inning in a 5-1 ballgame or in the eighth in a 5-1 ballgame with men on second and third an one out. More unwritten rules ... let the proven veterans do what they want.

Cishek is another guy when he comes in I can picture Fathom whacking a gapper off him or drawing a walk .Me no likey Cishek at least so far.

Sox vs KC 8/29 game thread 1:10 first pitch
I bet you this does happen. It's going to hurt our lineup, it really is if this happens. Oh well, he needs to heal.

Certainly Cooper has a big role in the bullpen decisions. The guy has been around forever and is a pitching genius. You can't tell me he's not making the calls in the bullpen.

I always rooted for bubba Starling but I have no idea how he's doing. And some people have accused me of being a closet KC fan. Not me. I know all about Mendick and Engel but not the KC stiffs.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Have the greg observers noticed I'm not b****ing about really anything? You should all take it from me. I think we have a good team so there's no reason to stress about little stuff. When we play bad teams we "usually" win. When we play really good teams we have a real chance of winning. Sox have added some nice pieces. The team is much better than a year ago, especially if the pitching continues to be good against bad teams. Some fans are really freaking out; I'm not one of them. Peace.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Great win. I felt fine after we were able to keep it 5-5 in the 9th. That's the difference when you can score runs. Sox have so many weapons it didn't take long. Those not sure about Grandal are misguided. He's really good and was a great pick-up.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
KU has 10 sororities and fraternities under quarantine. Not everybody is stuck in there 14 days; it's a complicated quarantine. But KU has had the predictable ton of cases since the students reported a week ago. Douglas County recommends no contact sports as we move into a yellow zone from green which means the two high schools have their openers canceled. But KU keeps practicing.

Soxfan, why was Stoney calling the 9th? Does he do the 9th inning normally? My bad.

Steve/Jason appreciation post
Nice thread. Not one negative post so far. The 2 of them are great and I enjoy listening to them. I even like the fact Stone must have said, 'f--k it, I don't care I might as well sing along with Jason' to 'Nationwide is on your side.' Normally that would annoy me greatly but it seems to me Jason sang it alone a few times and Stoney refused then for some reason he joined in and hasn't stopped. Again it's corny and dumb but I don't mind it. Stone is a genius IMO and a pleasure to hear his commentary, stories and comebacks. Jason B is very good and the 2 are continuing a tradition of great fun listening to Sox games. Harry and Jimmy to Hawk and WImpy/Jackson/Stone to Jason and Stone, which is the best (except for Harry). Hawk became a crabby man his last 2 seasons; earlier he was amazing. I never hated him, but didn't like his bad moods the last 2 seasons.
