I guess if the Royals are total s*** and the Tigers total crap the Sox could conceivably go 10-9 or 9-10 against both which would cut into my 110 to 120 losses theory. I'd expect both Minnie and Cleveland to own us. Maybe to the tune of 15-4 or 14-5. I also could see the .500 scenario begin if the Sox as i said in the other post went with the 4 good young starters and add a veteran and also decide to rebuild the bullpen this offseason. Not sure who the lockdown closer is whom they could acquire but they start the bullpen rebuild if they wished. p.s. I maintain "most" fans on this site want our stud young pitchers to be in the minors all next season. It's part of the rebuild mystery. They don't want Giolito, Kopech, even Lopez anywhere near the majors next season. Rodon and four hacks and let the losses pile up. I hate to waste pitches on rodon's arm as well. I hope most of the projected stars all get a fresh start on Day One some April. By then poor Moncada and TA could be frazzled by a lotta losses.

Let's say Kopech starts. We'd have Rodon and Kopech to start the rotation with Lopez. Isn't that potentially 3 pretty good starters? Isn't it better than the trash say the Royals will throw out there? Unfortunately it looks like Cleveland is ready to go on a Braves' like run of division titles. They are really good, folks, so I guess this rebuild is timed pretty well. But ... with 3 good starters minimum, pick up a veteran who can actually pitch, f*** that's a good four man rotation. Add to that you got an infield of Abreu, Moncada, TA and Davidson, that's not so awful. Flame away. If we have to lose 120 games the next two seasons, fine, but I maintain we'll have so many players expected to contribute to our next title team on the big league roster that all that losing will not be that helpful. Unless Lopez is a total flameout, the rotation could be at least better than the Royals and Twins and Tigers. I realize the bullpen as is is so bad it would ultimately make us an 100 loss team unless we worked on that. Maybe that's the key. The bullpen is so bad we're stuck at 120 losses no matter what, but I like our rotation.

Mayweather won rounds 4-6, but he didn't exactly dominate them. The tide turned in rounds 7 and 8. McGregor didn't have much on his punches anymore, and Mayweather could see that McGregor was tiring. In the 9th round, it became obvious to me that the fight wasn't going the distance, as McGregor was in constant retreat. I'm not sure why they didn't tell him to go to the ropes. Even with his back to them, I'm not sure Mayweather could have knocked him out, and McGregor would have saved some energy. I'm surprised McGregor did as well as he did. This is in large part to Mayweather making the decision to engage in the fight. I'm sure he could have fought the defensive fight and won 12 rounds to zero had he wanted. But, he wanted the knockout, and as someone who was disappointed by the Canelo and Pacquiao fights, I'm glad he did that. I agree with your assessment 100 percent. I think Mayweather executed his plan to perfection as you said. McGregor by all accounts actually did OK. I did notice Floyd and his dad trying to stifle laughter at McGregor's presser after the match, however, as McGregor really wanted to fight the last two rounds, thinking he'd get a final wind. I think Floyd and dad knew Floyd executed his game plan to perfection and Floyd would have battered McGregor the final two rounds. Just look at Floyd after the decision was announced. He was fresh and attacking; McGregor was gassed. But I agree with you it wasn't a bad fight at all. McGregor was not going to win if Floyd executed his game plan to perfection and he did. Trying to knock him out early would have been wrong. There always would have been a chance of 40 year old Floyd punching himself out and tiring himself later, or even worse, getting caught with something worse than that first round uppercut he got hit with. I disagree Mayweather was a bum as stephen a smith sort of indicated. I thought he looked pretty good.

I've been watching the news and I think they said virtually all highways are impassable. The TV guy maybe out of habit was talking about weather during the "rush" on Monday. My question is ... with rain scheduled through Wednesday are you basically stuck in your homes in Houston? Even if your street somehow isn't under water, is there anywhere you can go? My guess is no because so many areas are under water. Houston is one of the most congested, most populated areas in the country. You hear horror stories about traffic there when the roads are dry. Just total horror stories. So what happens now? Are all those people confined to their homes for a week minimum?? I mean if the roads are impassable and I read the highways are impassable are you just stuck?? Will neighbors band together and share food? Peace.
