Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Was listening to a Jomboy podcast and they were talking about trying to get Mune for an interview when the Sox are in Anaheim next week.

He's a hard worker and super eager to learn. Was spending a lot of time with Vargas in ST getting in extra defensive reps.

Good signs for Streak Watch: Soroka gives up above average fly ball and barrel rates. Mune is hitting a ridiculous 40% of his fly balls for homers, and Colson is at 27%. So far he’s been worse early on especially against 2-3-4 and then settles in. Sox could capitalize with their recent propensity for scoring early. Still no LHP in the AZ pen. LHB are 12-41 (.293) vs. Soroka with half of those hits going for extra bases. A few of the pitches/spots he commonly misses vs. LHP with are in Colson/Mune hotspots. His changeup has been overperforming the metrics, and has a .635 expected slug against. Bad signs for Streak Watch: Closed roof, and Soroka has been nails at home in 3 starts (1.59 ERA). He’s also been very good with RISP (and the Sox have not). Schwarber was 0-3 with 2Ks and a walk against him, and some think Mune is Japanese Schwarber.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Agreed. A Luis that isn't getting his A-swing off isn't going to do enough damage. He's being passive IN the zone while hitting like two thirds of middle-middle pitches into the ground. 51% overall groundball rate, under 12% pulled fly ball rate, and a 3.3% barrel rate. All worse than league average and career worsts, leading to a 4-31 skid with only 4K but 0BB. The timing at least makes for funny small sample size theater? His defensive metrics are also down a little, so some of it could be just the general Mets struggles compounding. They broke the streak and Soto is back, so hopefully the vibes start looking up.

White Sox add RHP Tyler Davis, DFA Lucas Sims
Surprised it's Sims and not Bido. Davis has looked fine last couple times I've seen him in Charlotte. Threw a two inning save striking out the side in the 9th in a shutty. 96-98 with a high 80s slider. Don't recall him being wild.

4/22 Games
Agreed on Braden, plus RF who could cover CF for a stint if needed. Great arm. They've also had Wolkow spending a little extra time in CF, at least compared to last year

4/22 Games
So far, I think so. Good reads and instincts, covers ground pretty well. Would definitely put him there before Braden.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
10 is the record which Mune tied tonight, 11 would set a new high. Dae-ho Lee hit his 9th and 10th homers on 6/10 and his first double on 6/16 for the Mariners in 2016. Also hit his 3rd and 4th homers on the same day (5/4), so two 2 HR games before your first double might stand for a while unless Mune Mania gets even wilder somehow. Certainly won't complain if it does.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
4 times in a row and 6 times total, 25 games into the season. Judge and Stanton are at 55 times (not counting playoffs) since 2018. Keep at this pace and Mune/Montgomery can catch up in two seasons or so Also saw this after the first Dbacks game: The 4th time would have netted $20m+ but also probably sent some guys in black suits to your door lol

Will be funny if tomorrow is like a 4-2 game with the roof closed lol, I'm sure someone somewhere tracks stadium open/closed splits.

Sucks that Kay didn't have much today. Offense came to play and there's probably different pen arms in the game with a different score. Maybe should have walked Ildemaro the second time lol Chase Field looks so nice with the roof open, it's a shame all the retractable stadiums just end up being closed more often than not. Pretty sure the broadcast said it will be closed tomorrow so we'll see which of the streaks can keep going. Soroka's had a good year, won't be an easy matchup. Only 1 HR allowed in 3 home starts, but lefties are hitting .293 against him.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Colson notably didn't hit any until 14 games in, so his first 10 were actually in an 18 game stretch Two scary guys at the plate

Ties the rookie consecutive HR record as well as the record for most consecutive homer-only XBH to start a career One imagines there's a record out there for 3 teammates with simultaneous streaks approaching too for Mune/Colson/Vargas

I could exhaust the effort of locating whatever fall league post game or Sox blog interview, but what exactly would be the point? You've already indicated that you would wave it off as something he's just saying to be a "good soldier" because you've already decided that you're right. That's fine! I'm not here to bicker with you. The overwhelming majority of what I post here is MiLB content, bits of news, quirky statistics, and my personal opinions. If you interpret that as spin or whatever then I happily, eagerly encourage you to utilize the ignore feature instead of the random personal accusations.

This seems like an unnecessarily hostile response to me saying an occasional Colson 3B start doesn't bother me personally? The Sox have a multiple primary shortstops in the system, and I currently think Colson projects as the best 3B of the lot. At some point, some (most even) of them are going to play other positions. If preparation for that reality means Colson sometimes plays 3B then I get it. He does, and currently should, get the overwhelming majority of his time at short. He's very good at it. I feel like you are arguing just to argue, so let's leave it there on what we all agree on.
