  1. Getz likes to play bullpen roulette.
  2. Why are we comparing Pereira to Robert? They weren’t involved in the same trade and play different positions. The obvious comparison is Acuna and Robert as they both play CF and were traded for each other. Yes, Robert has slumped lately but the Sox could have Robert in CF and Pereira in RF right now.
  3. That’s uh no gouda.
  4. I never thought they would tie or break their loss record. I thought some people were saying that 100+ losses was still a possibility, which it is.
  5. No politics. Reported.
  6. Imagine someone’s flex/taunt to other posters on this board being that their favorite team isn’t going to top their historic number of losses from 2024. 🤣
  7. Yep, I get the details behind it and that it’s all about the principles of one cheap old miser of an owner. It’s still hilarious because a single waiver claim costs $50K and a Rule 5 draft pick costs $100K.
  8. Well, quite honestly, Seranthony still hasn’t been worth $18.5 million and an extra year of earning that money over Seward at chump change for a single year, so I’m not sure Caulfield is actually wrong yet. Regardless, it’s all about what kind of return the Sox can get for Seranthony since it would be a surprise to see him going for any saves in a playoff game within the next two seasons.
  9. Of course there will be pressure. You may have lucked into a 26-year old star player with a huge market following that you didn’t have before for a low price for 2 years compared to the market for established star players. How many teams would be too cheap to extend the player and f*** all of that up? I guess we shall see what happens.
  10. Still sad if that was truly the reason. I can’t imagine not wanting Giolito at that low 1 year price than Kay at $12 million guaranteed for 2 years, but perhaps Giolito isn’t truly healthy.
  11. Agreed, I posted last night that it was probably his best call so far. And ironically it fits the situation perfectly going forward into next season. 🤣
  12. I don’t really remember this Seward versus Seranthony argument but I probably just missed it. But why are we comparing a guy on a 1-year, $1.5 million dollar deal to a guy that signed for 2-years and $20 million dollars? That’s not even apples and oranges.
  13. No one expected that. lol.
  14. Shitty Connect jerseys.
  15. That’s a rough no decision.
  16. So who is the best player comp to him these days? Still Corey Seager, but with more power but lower BA? Or someone else? Asking cuz I see you mentioned Bobby Witt…
  17. I looked through your partner in crime’s posts on this site and couldn’t find where he made the comparison of Murakami and Montgomery to Mantle and Maris due to or citing a HR streak, but perhaps you can find it? FYI — All I could find was a post Cali made because their combined first name initials would both be M&M. He first made the comparison back on April 4th, in a game they both hit homeruns but prior to this current Murakami and Montgomery multi-game HR streak that you assumed he was making the comparison for. There was no HR streak by the two Sox players at the time so your assumption was apparently incorrect.
  18. Troll-level silliness was making the comparison to begin with. Just like reassessing how good the Sox are after a win or two in a row when their overall record still stinks.
  19. I will be tracking the combined awards/accomplishments from Murakami and Colson… 5x MVP 27x All-Star Triple Crown Batting Title 2x Gold Glove 10x World Series
  20. Yes, it was absolutely ridiculous to compare M&M to two players with a combined ~150 career bWAR, with one of those players being a Hall of Famer, especially considering M&M haven’t even played a full season of MLB baseball. Good lord…
  21. It hasn’t been long enough yet for Getz to admit that he got jobbed in the trade. I think the quickest he dumped a “somewhat big” trade acquisition was Curtis Mead, whom was acquired at last year’s trade deadline and DFA’ed and later traded to the Nationals to finalize the Sox opening day roster.
  22. Wrigley Field, the rat-infested dump. This must be the exact opposite of Ron Santo’s black cat curse. The Cubs have won 8 in a row and are now in sole possession of 2nd place in the NL Central. The lucky rat? Seeing a couple of the Phillies players flinch away afraid of it was pretty funny.
  23. One more biscuit for breakfast, Colson.
  24. If this happens, it will be next season’s trade deadline.
