  1. So out of curiousity, how close would the championship have been if it was run with last years rules? And who would have won it?
  2. Yeah! http://www.nbc5.com/traffic/3938170/detail...994&dppid=65172

  4. One interesting thing that I haven't seen anywhere is the Pistons response for these fans. Hopefully they are revoking all of their season tickets for people who were involved in this. Both the beer throwers and the people who ended up on the court violated the terms of their season tickets. I am curious if anyone else has heard anything.
  5. 60 year old package :puke
  6. It falls under the one little check box that asks about being convicted of crimes. Unless I missed it, the Diamondbacks never said anything about waiting for a backround check to come back, especially since he has worked for the DBacks for a year. That fact alone tells me that they have been neglegent in their activities. And if a day care company doesn't ask about child based offenses, or a driving company doesn't ask about driving based offenses, that company has some major problems. They sure as hell aren't doing their due dillegence.
  7. Interesting, but conservative rebuttal to the Wal-Mart special on PBS. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/bruceba...b20041119.shtml

  9. And I can see how a baseball player making 6-8 million dollars a year and given the ultimate care from his team will need Canadian medicare :rolly
  10. One big part of that is that they have the city of Detroit to themselves. They don't have to split all of the advertising revenues like Chicago does.
  11. Yeah that all depends on negotiations between mediacom and comcast. I know comcast has been hardballing all of the satillite companies, so it might be a while.
  12. More like he didn't want to leave Boston is how I understood it. Things have changed now that the Red Sox have gotten rid of him, and did their usual hatchet job on him. I think him having played in Chicago for a couple of months to check out the city and its fans, also will be a nice selling point. The best possible scenario for us, will be if the Cubs decline arbit, and no multiyear offers materialize.
  13. If we add a 200 inning pitcher, I think you are looking pretty well at the pen, except that we will probably add a reliever that push most everyone down a slot. If we go into 2005 with the rotation as is, you might see a 12 person pen again.
  14. Swweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
  15. Munoz and Diaz both showed flashes of being servicable ML pitchers. It wouldn't surprise me at all if both ended up on the Sox roster to start 2005. The Sox did a very good job with managing the development of Adkins and Cotts in 2004 by working them is very fixed situations, and I could see them doing the same in 05 with Munoz and Diaz.
  16. Out of curiousity, I am the only one troubled by the fact that we are charging people with crimes that were not committed in the US?
  17. As I said before, the Sox have one big advantage. Nomar's agent is also Frank's agent. Tellum and JR have a great relationship. To me it doesn't seem insane for JR to work out a one year deal as a favor to Tellum. It would work for both the Sox and Nomar.
  18. The Sox situation's with WGN and WCIU will not change in 2005. The only thing different is the games that appeared on FSN in 2004, will be on Comcast Sports Net. Comcast SN is a conglomeration between the Sox, Cubs, Bulls, and Hawks, to televise their cable games on a network completely owned by these teams. So instead of the advertising revenue going to FSN or someone else, it goes completely to the Chicago teams involved in this partnership. Hope that helps
  19. I thought it would also... all I could think of was the bad Simpson episode with Homer looking for Lincolns gold.
  20. Ace's got a team down there this year? We need to pack the tourney with IN teams again
  21. Turkey and waldorf salad
