  1. So the idea is for people to fill the stadium to tell Jerry to sell the team. For some reason, I don’t think that is going to work. He will be laughing at people giving him money to tell him to sell the team. I’m pretty sure he already knows most White Sox fans wish he sold yesterday. It isn’t going to happen.
  2. The whole leadership thing is overblown to me. Robert was honest. He doesn’t hav that type of personality. It’s nice to have a couple of players who have that and can step up, but if you don’t have them, that is what a manager is for. If the guy in that position cannot lead, you have to find someone who can. Pedro obviously isn’t that guy.
  3. I'm thinking they were thinking they were going to go on a several year run, and probably at least start whispering they need a new park probably by now. The last couple of years probably have wrecked that dream. They aren't getting a park unless JR wants to pay for it, and that will never happen. He did pop for half the United Center.
  4. The most sobering thought is this regime doesn't know how to build a contender with most of the pieces. When they are missing a lot of them, there is zero chance. JR's loyalty will be put to the test soon. He remains loyal to all these clowns, his bank account is going to take a huge hit.
  5. It’s turn back the clock year. They will find some old and hurt guys like Jimmy Rollins, Brett Lawrie, Austin Jackson, and dinner Navarro p, and call themselves a contender.
  6. At least he is playing tonight. I was watching channel 2 and they said he was out again tonight with a stiff back.
  7. Rules are rules. The White Sox threw Carlton Fisk out of the clubhouse in 1993 when he came to wish his ex teammates luck. I wonder why they dont enforce the smoking rule at the ballpark. JR always has a stogie going.
  8. I get that, and even if he's making minimum he's doing better than most of us, so a babysitter shouldn't be too hard. But, this is a bit different. He was traded so recently his kids probably still live in the apartment the team probably helped him find to live in during the season. He's used it all season, and it probably has some familiarity with his kids and maybe they are friends with other players' kids. He's probably thinking he's doing his little ones a solid taking them there. Again, I have no idea how old his kids are, or any liability concerns the White Sox would have.
  9. To me, he's just like Romy, and Yolmer and Saladino.... they are all basically the same. They each will have their moments, but in the end, they just weren't good enough. The funny thing is, for the most part, these guys were pretty solid fundamentally, but they wind up getting exposed, and their careers are over before you know it.
  10. I get the point. My thing is this guy was just traded. I have no idea how old his kids are, but if they are 3 or 4 they may be friends with other players kids in the daycare. For some reason, when Jim Thome left and came back the next season with the Twins, I have a hard time believing if his kids were 3 or 4 or 5 at the time and he tried to drop them off, they would say no. Technically, maybe it's not allowed, but unless there is some reason like insurance or whatever, it's just something they should have let slide IMO. Too many weird coincidences with Middleton right after popping off. Ozzie even agrees with me. Middleton coming out with this stuff did the White Sox a favor. They can deny it all they want. Make all the excuses, but they need to learn. Lynn corroborated what he said. Others who have left have said some things. A good organization, or an organization that wants to be good , learns from it. The ones mired in mediocrity at best, get all defensive, and work on excuses for when the next guy says something.
  11. That makes sense, but, these same kids were probably in this daycare often this year. I have a feeling if Middleton had not said anything, they would have watched his kids anyway. Maybe not. There are probably insurance and other issues.
  12. If this is true, Jesux. OK, I get it, Middleton aired your dirty laundry in public. Forget he did you a favor. But using kids as pawns? Yeah, real family friendly White Sox. If this is true, the White Sox need to send out a public apology and terminate the genius that thought this was a great gotcha.
  13. 76-86 in 2015. 78-84 in 2016 before they gave up on that idea. How bad does someone have to be before it dawns on their employer or themself, that they cannot do this job?
  14. As bad as Hahn is, collecting failed high draft picks isn't a bad strategy. There was a reason they were picked high. The problem is the White Sox don't seem to be able to bring out the best in most players.
  15. That's true. If he thought she was 18, he's a little less of a scumbag than if not, although still in a world of trouble. One where his contract might be voided and his MLB career over.
  16. I read a little of that thread. They seem to be clinging to the she told him she was 18 hope. If this is going on in the US, she can tell him she's 18, Look like she is 30, but if she is 14, he's in a lot of trouble. Since he isn't traveling with the team , I think it's fair to say he's in a lot of trouble. Yet another guy that had it all, but was too either greedy or stupid or both to keep it.
  17. According to Kim No, the Burger trade was KW. Jake Eders ERA is only slightly above 16.00 in Birmingham. And he’s barely averaging a walk an inning.
  18. Bob today, had a list of 10 guys who may get fired. Pedro didn’t make it. Bob Melvin did. If Bob Melvin is available and the Sox stay with Pedro, it would be amazingly stupid.
  19. Pedro has to be in the top 5 percent of worst managers that ever made it 100 games. This guy is bad, and everyone knows it except the White Sox.
  20. I listened to this. Near the end Ozzie said he loved JR, said he respected KW, then , and I couldn’t totally understand him, but thought he said he didn’t respect Hahn but thought he’s made a couple of nice moves during his tenure. Did I get that right.?
  21. I’m some ways, very true. But Hahn hired this failure. Google Pedro’s introductory press conference, and watch Hahn gush over this failure. I don’t personally know Rick Hahn and I am embarrassed for him. This miss is probably even more of a miss than bringing back LaRussa. The next time Pedro delivers on anything he said in his press conference will be the first. I have a bad feeling the Sox don’t see this and will let him destroy even more next year.
  22. They probably would have lost anyway, but Pedros bullpen management delivered the exact result everyone was watching would have predicted. I try to think of one thing he is good at as a manager, and come up.empty.
  23. Ozzie knows someone who knows him well. He'd like to play for the Cubs, but Chicago is too cold. Probably rules out the Giants too.
  24. It's official. The Sox have no organist. The Nancy Faust organ booth is now a first aid station.
