You have to wonder about Conforto. Andujar formally of the Yankees, really looked like a stud hitter, hurt his shoulder and now sucks. Bellinger hurt his shoulder. Conforto did bounce back from an injury with his other shoulder, but there's a chance he might just really suck now.

Shocking it's picked up some from games that didn't count.

For those saying Grifol has "growing pains? using his bullpen, what was he supposed to do? He has to use what he has.

Totally agree. Just running to 1B has changed dramatically. Moncada had 4 doubles and 3 homers through June last year. He’s almost there after 4 games. Grandal looks so much better, and while defensively he still has issues, he’s one of the few catcher in MLB who has thrown out a base runner. Robert looks like the 2020 version with the glove, and the bat seems to be ready to pop. TA looks great. Andrus concerns me, but I do think hit 2000 is weighing on his ABs. The starters look good. Right now the shakiness is the bullpen. But it’s one series. That can turn around. I’m much happier now than I have been in a year about this team.

Anyone not happy with a split in Houston is just looking to complain.

One thing I do know Robert doesn’t make that play last season.

People take spring training performance way too seriously. Good and bad. The more positions your team has available depending on spring training performance, usually the worse your team is.

You do realize if he hit 1 homer this series he’d be on a pace for 40.

Tony wasn't accurate with the minor leagues. The reason Hawk got the GM job was the crap they had to call up from the minor leagues when someone got hurt. Himes fixed that, but there is no way he would have stuck with LaRussa.

That is true. If Hawk didn't fire Tony, he doesnt get the A's job, which means he doesn't get the Cardinals job, and doesn't ever get to say he is a HOF baseball person, brother. He's just another Ricky Renteria or Tom Trebblehorn. If you think about it, Tony owes a hell of a lot to Hawk for firing him.

Second hiring easy . When they fired LaRussa, they were about to go into a rebuild and he would have been canned eventually anyway. After he got fired in 1986, the team played better for Fregosi.
