Arizona Fall League - Running Thread - Opens 10/9

Wrist is getting healthy. -
I will probably go and vote to Rauner There is a judge that I want to vote against as well. I don't want to vote for Lipinski he or his father have been my US rep my entire life and neither have done a single thing that I am aware of...scroll up to see my other option there Fran Hurley is my Illinois Rep and she appears to have less of an impact than Lipinski....she was the 19th ward committee chair or something and was handed her role after the state senator retired and state rep took the senator's position My alderman won 90% of the vote and is rather unqualified to hold public office but he was the ward committee person and became alderman when the current alderman retired. He bows down to Rahm and was named the head of the aviation department.....he knows shit about aviation but is now set for life and can hand our contracts to croonies at the airports. In Chicago/Cook/Illinois pockets are lined and the machine chugs along like it never has before. Honestly my vote does not matter...maybe I will vote for mayor that's looking to be an interesting as hell type of race and real shitshow. Jesse White is running for reelection and is going to retire after he fills the mandated time after the election in order to hand the position off to one of his siblings. Nobody pays the price for the crisis we are in, in Chciago/Cook/Illinois.

Morosi: White Sox interested in "both Machado and Harper"
Harry Chappas replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The White Sox Machado smoke started last off-season when they wanted to trade for him. There seems to be some tangible thought that he is an option for the White Sox. I also think Machado fits the White Sox fan demographic better then Harper but I have no scientific proof to that. Harper fits my demographic draw but I'll watch either. -
The governor race in Illinois is going to keep me from voting.....I voted for Trump because i disliked Hillary, don't regret as I really detested Hillary but I am not going to do it again....I actually like Rauner in theory but his execution was terrible. The fact that the democratic constituents felt that JB was the best candidate is unsetteling to me. I believe that 60% of the population is rather uninformed or stupid and vote for whoever they are told to vote for. I live in Chicago and every politician other than US Senate, mayor and President of the United States that I would vote for was either handed their position or won simply because it was their time and they were a good solider for the Democratic party. That is why Chicago/Cook and then Illinois are all f***ed.

Illinois High School Football Thread

I don't expect it but they will be favored. If Rice was in 7A I think they would roll to the championship and probably win it. Sadly they will be 7A next year but not sure the talent will be like it is this year again any time soon there. -

IHSA gives home game based on number of home games......whoever has less home games gets the next home game. Marist played at NC and will play at HF......HF played at palatine......Rice will be home for three straight weeks. Seed only matters if you have played the same number of home games, then higher seed gets it. The seedings are a joke and this home game decision process exacerbates the stupidity. -

Rice on the road in semis if they win at hf or Marist. Ihsa is a clusterfuck. -

Seeding based on wins then opponents wins.....not sure if Crete is still playing but rice beat 2 8A quarterfinals teams and montini who is still in. Rice should have killed OPRF but made some mistakes. -

So .500 could win the AL Central if the Indians tear it down....if the Indians tear it down they will be loaded in three years again -
Here is my question.....if he is the DH, then pitches an inning, does he remain the DH after he comes out of the game as a pitcher or do we lose the DH as what happens if the DH plays the field?

Joe Girardi holding out for a "Chicago team"
Harry Chappas replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My guess is that the cubs and Joe agreed that he would retire after this year. I also believe the cubs called Girardi and told him this. -
That style of baseball is going to get the DH implemented full time. I read a long story on the opener and never really attributed it to starters third time through the order being the issue and the "opener" allowing the starter to come in and face the bottom of the order three times before facing he top of the order three times.

I didn't say yay Kevin White I said he did do something. Would be nice if he continued to do something moving forward as it would be another good option. Maybe bust is a bit much for Robinson as he isn't paid all that much but he has 11 catches in his last 4 games for 141 yards. -

The two picks he threw, the receivers should have worked harder......the two in the end zone offset those as they were terrible throws. Whoever the special teams coach is should be fired. A punt earlier was almost blocked and then then there was the one that actually was blocked. Good to see Kevin White do something as Allen Robinson is looking like a complete bust. -
These folks will leave nothing for their kids but also all seem to be able to jump back in if needed. once a bubble bursts they may be screwed. You need fixed income return to live like that.

I have no clue what the rule is I guess what were people supposed to do the ball was over the wall......ah joe west

Sucks that they have to play early today as well.

Dear FO: Harper VS Machado, Soxtalk Will Help You Decide
Harry Chappas replied to Jerksticks's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I see Machado ending up like a Brandon Saad situation Playing hard and playing dirty are vastly different things. Last night was dirty -
The best is the tax cuts for billonaires and the democratic candidate for Illinois governor will be the wealthiest governor in the nation if elected and he claims to be a democrat who will tell you of his hardships growing up that 99% of the voters cannot relate to but he will win with about 60% of the vote because Illinois is a complete shitshow. He should not have won the democratic primary but it's Illinois where your vote literally does not count......well maybe in the Chiago mayoral race it will.

Check the IHSA outlook. They are in 8A as is Simeon. Both could move down but unlikely. The poll of them in 7A is guesstimate. They get hosed with the multipliers. -
