  1. Micker and Yoelqui upon hearing our pleas for a RF: SOXTALK, ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
  2. I know he's not a Top 100, but I just can't see them trading him unless they get a star back.
  3. Craig Kimbrel and Tanner Banks straight up for Bellinger. Based on this game the Dodgers would be fools to say no.
  4. The problem is that they have this amazing team and the resources to bolster it. Nothing in sports is guaranteed, so shoring up any weakness is key - and they just aren't doing it. It's incredibly frustrating. It's like if you were a kid and your parents take you to Disney World. You really want to go on the new Star Wars rides, see the animals in Animal Kingdom, etc. Instead, you're stuck on It's A Small World for fucking eternity. On the flip side, there are definitely people who are acting like this team is going to crater because they didn't shore up their weak spots.
  5. Those are all amazing, but Captain Konerko is unmatched.
  6. Hendricks starts. Crochet gets the next three. Tim Anderson finishes the game.
  7. I know we'd all like to point to the Padres as the team that would hurt us (again), but will they give up pool funds and a pick to sign Conforto when they also need to dump at least one of Hosmer or Myers, which will require attaching a prospect?
  8. I know. I live in Brooklyn. But there's a pretty strong probability that it gets dropped by October - but that could take a while, since Adams recently fired city workers for not being vaccinated. Toronto is a whole other situation because international restrictions probably won't get dropped unless COVID gets magically eliminated worldwide in the next few months.
  9. As previously discussed in the thread, unless Conforto got vaccinated, I'd eliminate the Jays. I'd strike the Mets* from the list unless he's coming at a heavy discount. Edit: Wrote Jays twice. Meant Mets for second one.
  10. Everyone knows that you're either all the way in or all the way out! Life is the hokey pokey!
  11. It's Ozzie's DH by committee, but now with defense involved!
  12. Yup. They can't mandate the major league team due to the MLBPA. But the logic with requiring the entire organization (outside Graveman to our knowledge) + minors is that they'll have less concern about outbreaks while calling people up to and from teams.
  13. Sorry, I should have clarified. The horrifying thought is to bring them up as a semi-regular player. I guess they'd give Cespedes time to season in AAA, but TLR would get cute and go with "RF by committee" and go with Leury, Gavin, Engel, and Adolfo. There was so much pain in typing that sentence.
  14. The horrifying thought that I don't think would happen, but briefly passed my mine this morning as a hypothetical: What if Cespedes and Adolfo continue to hit really well ... and the team feels like breaking camp with one of them instead of getting a RF like Conforto.
  15. This Conde Nast list says only 22 countries allow unvaccinated people: https://www.cntraveller.com/article/travel-without-vaccine
  16. Honestly, this probably hurt Conforto in free agency. It's one thing to sign a relief pitcher like Graveman for $24M and risk losing him for a playoff series. Your starting right fielder for $100M (and a draft pick) would be infuriating to lose in a playoff series. And Canada's travel restriction might last that long, since it's international.
  17. I like that you include the Twins option years but not Robert's or Eloy's (who isn't here)
  18. Fuck. Sox are getting real complacent now and the rest of the division is taking notice.
  19. With the NYC Health Commissioner saying the private employee mandate is permanent ... that might hurt the Mets desire to sign him.
  20. 1. Sign TLR so he can manage NL-style baseball 2. Sign Velazquez as a relief pitcher 3. Boom. RP in the OF.
