4/8 Games
Schultz looked amazing. Believe he retired 10 straight after the rough 1st inning. Really great to see the kid get his velo back and fully healthy.

Shane Smith sent down. Update: Has rotator cuff strain.
Never had a whole lot of faith he's gonna stick in the MLB, but I guess we'll find out. Hopefully they send Murphy to Charlotte.

4/7/26 Orioles @ White Sox 2:10 Chicago Time. Shane Smith SP
Where was this? I must have missed that and I'd love to hear it.

Austin Hays to IL
Realistically, Antonacci probably needs some more time in the OF anyways. Harris is expendable if they need to cut someone down the road.

Munemania: Murakami and Judge pacing each other
Nothing wrong with it, what's being said by Japanese fans is that the font being used (across MLB, not exclusive to the Sox) is not aesthetically pleasing to Japanese culture. It's a design flaw made by a designer at Fanatics that didn't do due diligence researching it. Anyone with the basic knowledge of Kanji, understands that the flow, balance, and elegance of the characters is just as important as the characters themselves. Think of it as Japanese calligraphy. The Munetaka kanji jersey's fail to capture the essence of that style. Look at a Japanese uniform if you want to see the visual difference being pointed out.

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
They can send Peters down, and place Vasil on the 60-day IL.

Paez DFA'd, Sims called up
Is that even legal? The way I understand PTBNL is you have to present a list of players at the time of the trade to choose between. How could the Red Sox put Paez on a list if he isn't in their organization at the time of the trade? Unless I'm misunderstanding how it works, I don't think he can be included in that particular trade.

Schriffen speaks...
I'm sure he's a nice guy, but being a nice guy doesn't mean you deserve a job you're under-qualified for.

Site Upgrade - Minor mods still needed
I don't think anyone's brought it up, but I'd be willing to create a banner if anyone wants - I'd just need the Soxtalk logo in a PNG format and sizing specs.

White Sox sign Reese McGuire, Korey Lee won't make MLB roster
And it was deserved. Lots of changes were made since he left, and $1.2M keeps a lot of people happy. Lee has to be the odd man out. Haven't there been rumors the Sox staff doesn't like throwing to him?

Rule 5 pick Alberto back to TB
Was always going to be tough to carry both him and Paez.

2026 Spring Training Thread
Vasil is likely out for a while if not all year - at least that's where it seems headed.

And We are back - sorry for the outage
Yeah, the site feels sluggish. I'm probably gonna give it a day or so before trying to stay on like I used to.

Happy 90th birthday to Mr. Jerry Reinsdorf
Hope he has a terrible day and gets the shits from his cake.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Yeah, this kid is going 1-1. The Sox would have to get cute to convince themselves otherwise.

Colson Montgomery HR prediction
I'll go 29. I think he benefited greatly from coming up in the 2nd half - pitchers have the data on how to attack him this season. Mune will lead the team in HR's.

Sox sign Fedde (2026)
If they are serious about stretching out Vasil as a starter, there is a world where he could get sent to Charlotte to start the season... I'm not advocating for that (I like him in the pen), but he does have all his options, and if we're looking at how to maximize a 40-man roster crunch, he'd be a potential way to do so without needing to get creative or entertain DFA'ing someone.

Sox sign Fedde (2026)
Don't particularly care for this, but can't say I'm surprised. The other starters available out there are clearly out of the Sox price range. I'd be surprised if he makes to the halfway point of the season.

MLBTR Offseason Outlook on White Sox
I wish they'd just turn him into the next Mason Miller. They've already alluded to the fact his mechanics could lead to an injury in a starter capacity, and now they appear to be setting him up... to eventually move into a starter role in the future (2027)? Or are they just trying to create a market inefficiency where they have elite arms pitch multiple innings?

Austin Hays
Hudson seems like a guy someone will take a chance on. He was really good in 2024.
