It's pretty obvious they have no interest in playing Baldwin at SS unless it's in a pinch. I'd personally play Meidroth at SA nearly everyday, and with AV and Elko gone, Sosa can cover 1B opening 2B for Baldwin. But they aren't ready to cut bait on Rojas. Regardless, Baldwin will get plenty of ABs in Aug and Sep.

I think this has much more to do with not having everyday at bats to give him right now. They'd rather Capra rot on the bench and play 1x a week than Brooks. I'm fine with it. He'll be back within 6 weeks for certain.

This is literally the worst possible defensive combination the Sox could put together on the infield.

Angels already picked him up. i think there is a decent Colas produces a few seasons of being average big leaguer. I think Sox should have given him much more of a chance.

Fair enough. Games are pretty easily accessible via sites like steameast. I pay The $150 or whatever it is for MLB TV each year just for the convenience, but I could definitely understand not wanting to pay that.

Charlotte's position player roster is hilarious to look at. 11 players with at bats for the White Sox + Teel and Montgomery. Only one is on rehab (Lee, and for now). Wild times.

I totally understand your position. I am sure cost is a factor, but the reality of the situation is that Vaughns contract is a sunk cost. Keep him on the team, option him, DFA him… The money is still being spent. I think this has more to do with the ability for AV to create some semblance of value so that he can be moved within the next two months. If you DFA him, not only are you not getting any return, but you're eating the money for sure. As I said, I would have personally optioned Vaughn, but I also don't think Elko is a major league hitter long term m, so I'm not super concerned about it in the short term. Elko will be back later in the season.

Right? Tauchman and Beni are an enormous upgrade on what we've been playing in the OF. Are they part of the future? Of course not. But neither is Josh Palacios or Corey Julks.

Korey Lee will be up any day as well. His rehab clock ends on Tuesday and AAA doesn't play on Mondays. My guess is Elko down, Palacios DFA today. What they decide to do with the catchers will be more interesting.

I think Sox really like Thaiss. But yah, you have to trade him or Lee next couple months.

I mean, he hasn't been good. I would have optioned AV, but don't feel this is worth too much hand wringing. You def can't carry 3 catchers and 2 1B so if you're not optioning Elko, it was going to be Quero when Lees rehab is up in a few days anyway.

In a scenario where you could turn Martin into a top 100 position player prospect + another supporting piece or two, you absolutely should trade him. I don't really care that much about control of a 28 year pitcher that could easily turn into a pumpkin at anytime. &nbsp I guess didn't realize Martin was not on the MLB roster when he got hurt. Otherwise he'd have way more service time.

No one should be surprised that he can't hit major league pitching outside of running into a few homers. Which honestly makes him way more interesting than a few guy they still roster.
