MLB.com has White Sox at No. 2
Agree, if we get an upgrade at second base, a right fielder who can hit and field and a SP to fill Rodon's shoes, then we might be #2 in the Power Rankings.

Offensively, the Sox are better in RF than either of the last two years
That works for me, he has a good eye at the plate.

Wouldn't bother me to trade Moncada, his career has not progressed as well as we thought though he has turned into a fine third baseman.

Sheets and Vaughn are not right fielders, Vaughn is adequate in left. Leury should never play the OF, please Sox, sign someone to play right field that can field and hit and someone better thsn Harrison for second base, I'd rather see Leury at second. So far, the Sox have not made one trade that has improved the club. Sheets and Vaughn should be the DH's on a platoon basis.

When (or if) the lockout ends, Carlos Rodon should top the Sox list of signings
This.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
Exactly, who can relate to these people.

Putin is a KGB bully, he would love to see a rebirth of the USSR, this could be the start.

Julio Cruz dies
But it was Tom Seaver that got his 300th win. Do you remember slugger Roy Sievers who had 2 productive years with the Sox in 1960 and 1961.

Traditionalist or Radical
I'm 76 and as traditional as can be but I am open to some things like a going to conferences with geographical divisions, I'd like a shorter season while adding to teams in the playoffs. I'm for the universal DH. I'd like expansion with 2 more teams for a total of 32 with 2 conferences made up with 2 divisions of 8 in each conference.

What a great story.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
I don't think I ever said that, I'm an old fart who remembers when Bleacher seats were a dollar, General Admission 1.25 and Box Seats way up there at 2.50. Hot Dogs and soda pop was 25 cents and a bag of peanuts 15 cents.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
A pox on both of their houses, don't feel sorry for any of these gazillionaires. If and when they come to an agreement, it's us fans who will get hurt the most with higher ticket prices, higher food and beverage prices at the park and probably higher cable rates.

The MLB lockout is lifted!
Well the NHL and NBA playoffs will be going on until June so we all have something to keep our sports minds occupied.

Today was a good day
Good riddance to bad rubbish, how did this guy last as long as he did as an umpire?

Expanded Playoffs
I'm for a shorter season but not for becoming the NHL and NBA with half of the teams in the playoffs. We will probably see MLB expanding to 32 teams and when they do I'm afraid we will probably see 16 teams in the playoffs.

Which baseball movie has the greatest Hollywood ending?
The Natural. Pride of the Yankees was a great baseball movie but as all of us know, the ending wasn't good.

Camden Yards moving back fences
I loved watching the Bears at Wrigley, saw many games there in the late 50s and early 60s, with those temporary stands in right field you were right on top of the action. Papa Bear would squeeze 45,000 in Wrigley, 8,000 more than the baseball capacity in those days.

Maris hit more homers against the Sox with 13 than any other team on his way to 61 in 61. I remember seeing 2 of them at old Comiskey.

After game 1, I was thinking 4 game sweep, then came game 2 which we had a good chance of coming back to win if it wasn't for a bad call by third base coach sending Sherm Lollar home with no outs, Lollar was out was a mile and the rally fizzled.

Mods please delete- RIP Roland Hemond
One of the classiest guys ever to be associated with the White Sox besides being a very good GM. What an amazing job he did improving the 1971 White Sox by 23 games as the 1970 team lost the most games in Sox history and then almost winning the Division in 1972, if Melton hadn't hurt his back the Sox probably would have won the West. May he rest in peace.- Semien to Rangers, 7 for $175
That's been going for a long time, we need new ownership who will run the White Sox like the big market franchise they are meant to be. - Soxtalk Member Age Range
