  1. Worth a shot. Journeyman profile, but some of these guys hit. Look at Tauchman. Similar career prior to promotion.
  2. Theoretical Q: How much is too little for Houser? Given his contract and mediocre career track record, I have a hard time believing other teams are going to give up an impact bat for him. Maybe a failed prospect who is out of options a la Vargas. But non-elite position players are essentially worthless. A guy like Dru Baker probably has less future value than cash considerations. I could see getting a pitcher. Because of injury rates and pitching development strides, even the most innocuous trades can bring you a useful guy. Vasil was pretty rough in AAA yet he’s been a contributor. But you ought to be able to draft and develop depth arms. I get that Houser is like 2 mor wins on a team poised to lose 110 games, but I would rather watch him for two months than trade him for some guy who’s just gonna clog up minor league rosters.

Game 2 in Charlotte is Covid buddies Clevinger v. Plesac.
  4. If that’s the scenario, I hope they go way under slot and go for a splash at 44.
  5. 4 base runners, 2 GIDP. 1 HR. 1-0. Sox won’t compete until they get some power.

Would be huge if Gonzalez could be anything.
  7. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to underslot someone like Kilen or Bremner and try to push Schoolcraft down to 44. They have been rumored to like him since the fall. Bremner and Schoolcraft would be a pretty solid draft that they would absolutely get crushed for.

I don’t believe he’s played 2b at all this year. He’s played some 3b. He looks pretty darn good at ss, but he’s athletic. Uh he hits, he could end up a lot of places.
  9. Crazy that Nats are rudderless picking at 1-1 now. True wildcards. I am concerned that Sox like only 2 college pitchers, but also like 2 college hitters in a down year for that demographic. I wonder which 5 ss they like. Probably Holliday, Willits, Carlson, Parker, and either Hall or Cunningham. Hall stays at the position, Cunningham probably the better hitter.
  10. If McDougal throws strikes with this stuff, huge win for the Sox. He’s a top 100 guy if he keeps throwing like this. The national folks will need to see some consistency, but the stuff is there.
  11. Gray must have had an opt out? He’s been solid this season, but… Huh?
  12. Who to release first? Rojas or Noda? I would do Noda just cuz, but I would love to see the back of both.
  13. Yeah, Sox don’t have near-ready OF talent. It’s Braden and Zavala who are both okay to good at A+, but you’re not gonna shoot them up to the majors. Everyone at Birmingham is struggling non-prospect to org guys. Veras is the disappointment there. If Ramos were hitting, you could see trying him out there, but he’s not so you won’t. Good thing I kept my Joshua Palacios jersey.

  15. I have been searching for comps too. Those guys were each earning a lot more money than Houser is now, so maybe Houser is more valuable? Track record says no. Liranzo is interesting because Detroit probably had a top 100 grade on him at the time of the trade. I imagine they will get someone decent but not overwhelming.

Sox headed towards losing every MiLB game tonight. Not a good night.

Dash was 2-14 w/RISP 13 left on base then gave up 7 in the bottom of the 8th. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
  18. Do Noda next.
  19. These lists look pretty good to me. I tend to think like @Boopa1219 and leave off guys currently in the majors, so punting on where the hell you'd put Colson, my top 20 would look something like this: *Noah Schultz, lhp (AAA) Caleb Bonemer, ss (A) *Hagen Smith, lhp (AA) #Braden Montgomery, of (A+) Tanner McDougal, rhp (AA)& Javier Mogollon, 2b(A) *George Wolkow, of (A) *Sam Antonacci, inf (A+) Jeral Perez, 2b/ss (A+) *Christian Oppor, lhp (A+) Luis Reyes, rhp (A) *Samuel Zavala, of (A+)& *Jacob Gonzalez, ss-2b (AA) Bryan Ramos, 3b (AAA)@ *William Bergolla, 2b-ss (AA) Mason Adams, rhp (IL)& Mathias LaCombe, rhp (ACL) *Ronny Hernandez, c (A) *Ky Bush, lhp (IL - 60) Wikelman Gonzalez, rhp (AAA)@% @ indicates of 40 man. & indicates needs to be added to 40 man for Rule 5. % indicates reliever. I tend to penalize injured guys and relievers quite a bit. Love Batista, but I have him just out of the top 20. I could see flipping him and Wikelman. I am probably high man on Antonacci, but if anything, I'm afraid he is too low. I really really like that guy. I would place whoever they draft at 1-10 #5.
  20. I would dump Noda and have Vargas and Sosa cover first base. Vinnie Capra can grab some starts at short against tough righties. Noda is useless.
  21. I am really tired of watching Noda. I hope he is the DFA for Colson.
  22. Not sure Vinnie Capra should count as a major league strikeout.
  23. There’s room for everyone, since a lot of people jumped off at the last stop.
  24. Personally, I think he has taken so few steps forward, who knows whose fault that is, that he was no longer a top 30 guy. As a reliever who can’t throw strikes, he was trending towards Org/NP level for me.
