I looked at the Astros playoff roster and it dawned on me that Okert wasnt on it. He is still hurt. Hader is the only one in that pen that is scary, everyone else is shaky. I am assuming they put Wesneski in at some point today as well, or Lambert.

Hoping Taylor has a similar career to King, minus the trades of course. Elite pen arm to elite closer to elite starter.

I don't blame the Astros players for being pissed about their fans booing. They were expected to be an 81 win team this year right? What a shitty fanbase

10 game win streak when Fedde starts

This is when I wish we had another RH outfielder that can mash against LHP. Braden is just not at at this point in his career.

They are the best story in MLB this year, reminiscent of the 2023 Orioles who was loaded with young interesting talent. Obviously I dont think we are going to win 101 games, but people from other fandoms are talking about how happy they are the white sox are relevant again and have bought into the magic.

I thought they were limiting his innings so they could get him to focus on his mechanical adjustments in longer bullpen sessions, i dont remember where I heard that, or if I misunderstood.

Even Jerry isn't dumb enough to not extend him. Murakami is making him so much money this season

I really liked that Bauer video. The content was good, and I loved the chirping back and forth as well. From what I saw I am a big fan of Roch, hes competitive, looks like a good teammate (his interactions with the other pitcher), and looks passionate about the game. Thats all I need to see, get him on the Southside!

nice! straight to Jerry's wallet it goes!

Until those who kicked Benetti out are gone, this is what this organization deserves

Sorry had a laugh with this. I simmed 10 times and we didnt get the first pick once. We did however get the 7th pick twice, with the cherry on top being the Twins getting the #1 pick. I fully expect our shitty luck to manifest this into being.

James Fegan interviewed Fuller where he talked about numerous prospects, Montgomery, and their draft philosophy. It is well worth the listen and hopefully instill some faith in the development side of things hitting wise.

Losing the AL and NL would be a big mistake, and having the Cubs and Sox in the same division would be too much for the city to handle (same for Yanks/Mets). Its just not necessary.

i was there tonight, painful

The current brand is highly marketable outside of baseball, it would be a mistake to change it. Just put out a damn winner that would be change enough that would signify the end of the Reinsdorf era.

Hows a hurt shoulder sound? Cubs really flubbed the trade deadline.

If they pick up his option after he throws down 3 WAR i wouldnt mind it if they just kept him

Im shocked theres not even a rumor about Houser out there. 2 hours to go

Is Houser more valuable than Fedde last year? Would it be safe to assume it would be a similar return?

Theres no question. If he had a Red Sox or Yankees hat hes in by now. If CC stayed with Cleveland like Buehrle stayed with then i bet CC is in the same category.

Can we do spoilers please

for a guy who throws 100+ all the time he sure doesnt get many whiffs (i havent looked at any stats on that, just observation) edit: im wrong (not surprised)

so ready to celebrate something new rather than live in the past.. just like the Bulls do.. just like the Bears do.. i think its a chicago sports thing to live and breathe in nostalgia

why give away atbats to Capra and Rojas, just play the kid, jfc... we are going to lose 110 anyway what does it matter!
