How utterly bizarre for a player to go onto a White Sox podcast of all places to say that.

Well Hamels to the White Sox would be right up Kenny's playbook.   Lets get aging vet who used to be good on the twilight of his career for some lightning in the bottle.

JR people will come to see him.  They went to Wrigley to see him.  And get this.  He is in line with our cost projections.  I say we sign him and get some lightning in the bottle.  We can then go all

Harry Caray is still alive!  Or at least Will Ferrell.

It was a very bizarre interview.

Reading beneath the lines, I reckon Cole and the Sox have signed or at least have a verbal agreement and the play is for Cole to go on the podcast to try and put pressure on Zach Wheeler to sign.

It's all very strange indeed. I don't get why a free agent who has no connections with the Sox would go on the Sox podcast.

That was pretty embarrassing

That's a lot of dough for his performance last year.

wut.  1 year deal?  Absolutely shocked nobody would give him 2, including the Sox.  Jesus.

Nailed it.  I'm kicking all kinds of ass in the MLBTR free agent contest.

This one played out weird.

Lot of money but going to a playoff team.  Exactly what he said he was willing to do.  Might make Phils more desperate on Wheeler as I think they were interested in Hammels

I would have been fine with him on a 1 year deal since he's probably significantly better than the rest of the pitchers that would take a 1 year deal.  18 seems very high though, I figured around 14 or 15.

I think two years 30 million made a lot of sense for Chicago but oh well.

1 year = good...18 million = bad

Hamels only wanted a 1 year deal.

Look like my 1/$17.5M prediction wasn’t that far off.

Ah that makes sense then.  Thanks, haven't been following him too closely obviously.

Yeah, think he's going to ring chase the last few years of his career.

Thank God!!!!!!

Wow pretty insane deal IMO. 18 million? I'm not a financial expert with contracts but that seems so huge for a pitcher that is in such decline!

Glad he didn't end up on the sox. Guess it means Braves are out on Bumgarner.

He got a little more than QO $...I would take that to go to a team you think has a chance to win it all.
