This is the other option. Trade for a accomplished cost controlled starter.

Yea, and in the right field conversation we’ve got heavy connections to the international market as well.

Things are bringer than I can remember since 2004 and surprisingly, one could argue easily that this era surpasses that.

I’m absolutely shocked by this with service time issues in the past

Very interesting move. If he can come in an immediately make an impact like Foster and Heuer have then this bullpen should be very legit, especially if Bummer can return. I know we generally view him as a starter for the long term, but he could be the Sox version of Hader and give them long, shutdown relief.

Sox have proven they don't fuck around with that shit when trying to win. It's go time. Wouldn't shock me if Vaughn made the team out of ST next year.

Except when they held Madrigal back.  I think they take it on a case by case basis.  As they should.  And as noted with pitchers it's not as big of a deal.

Michael Jordan? ?

Correct. Very good. He is the wide, tall guy.

The Sox really don't seem to care about service time with pitching and they probably shouldn't.

Obviously he was talking about Erik Johnson.

Dude, its Carlos Lee

Somewhere Bobby Jenks is eating his sorrow away.

Forgot about him. He went on to be the centerpiece of the big James Shields trade. Worked out for both teams.

What’s the latest on Burdi?  Would be nice to get him turned around, but probably too late to be able to trust him this year.

Like the aggressiveness.  Pitching is such a crapshoot, shelf life is always an unknown, see Rodon, Carlos.

Or just look back at that projected NYM 2014-15 pitching dynasty for another example.

I expect two 1 year deals with Joc and Q. Neither will want to bind themselves to long term deals after their 2020 issues and the Sox will like the flexibility of one year deals.

FIFY.  Add one veteran reliever to replace Colome and that’s your offseason.

That means goodbye James McCann...you’re a hell of a catcher, but spending close to $30M on the catcher position is insane.

oh he isn't in my 2021 rotation for long.

Giolito
Bauer
DK
Dunning
Cease until Kopech is ready. Now Crochet could push this even more.

And 2022 looks WAY different.

Giolito
Bauer (if he chooses to stay)
Kopech
DK
Dunning/Crochet

I see no place for Cease on this team other than a major injury. He is trade FUEL.

And you totally forgot about Stiever.

This has been my belief for a year, but he will be used as a trade chip.

.... I'm moist boys.

Holy crap can this kid throw. The slider didn't have much control,  but is was tough to hold that against him tonight.

Cool, glad to know he got right into a game. I’m watching tonight on a delay, had to pause it in the 4th to take care of hi8is JR.

Just wait till Cooper makes him throw 93 with a cutter

Would be curious to hear what @ptatc thinks about the bend in his right knee after he releases the ball? Is that normal?
