April 24, 20223 yr As bad as it was to not just intentionally walk Buxton from the start, the real sin is pitching to Buxton with 1st open on a 3 and 1 count!! Of course he is going to throw a fast ball down the pipe, and Buxton destroyed it. At 3 and 1, the intentional is the ONLY option. You do not let their best player beat you, on that count, in that sitaution. And, TLR says "we had a better chance to do what Gio did on Buxton"? Except it wasn't Gio pitching, and the guy he left in was clearly hurting. That is just plain asinine. The team played awful the whole road trip. Atrocious fielding, horrible clutch hitting, poor base running, and iffy pitching - that happens when slumping. But, you can clearly point to the Manager's multiple mistakes in all 6 losses, and that is unheard of and unacceptable!!

It would be nice if the reporters that cover this team actually put his feet to the fire a bit. He should be getting roasted daily for this past week. It’s just horrible managing. A casual fan could have done a better job. Edited April 24, 20223 yr by ChiSox59

April 24, 20223 yr TLR has lost my confidence. The team looks so uninspired and unprepared to play every day. They need to win the KC series or he needs to go.

April 24, 20223 yr They’re 4-2 at home and 2-7 on the road. They have KC this week with Cease and Kopech getting two starts. They have a solid chance at winning this series again, especially after an off day. That shouldn’t blind people to how badly managed the last week was.

Last year, this team was so much better at home. That seems to be the case again. Once again I know its early but that really was probably the worst managed week of baseball I've ever seen...including that final week in 2020 which was atrocious.

The bullpen is still in shambles and the offense can’t put runs on the board. They also seem to find ways to lose. Sox might break the losing streak this week but I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose both series.

The poster in question is someone who blindly defended TLR no matter the circumstance last year. Only now, when you have team-affiliated post game show hosts actually calling out the manager are the LaRussa Stans finally waking up.

None of them asked the difficult questions. Are they all scared of Jerry or something? It's ridiculous.

Even if the question is asked, they just accept the horrible responses. Push harder FFS. This is managerial malpractice.
April 25, 20223 yr Unrelated to the big issue in that game… why don’t you pinch run for Yas after his hit in the 10th? McGuire is probably better defensively, and Engel (or even Burger) has a much better chance to score on a double. That one didn’t cost us… But major oof either way today…

Engel scores on a Double. Yaz doesn’t. Plus the defense and Yaz is unlikely to bat again regardless. It was a horrible decision and maybe McGuire handles the passed ball better that took away the DP.
