Can't believe they're pitching Velazquez for the home opener. At least Keuchel is a name.

Eloy gets such a big pass for wildly underachieving expectations that other guys on the team don't receive

Matt Brash debut for Mariners

(TBD for now, but probable) Mariners still have a game in Minnesota tonight

Edited by flavum

Keep your hitting shoes on boys...I think we might need to put up some crooked numbers.  Didn't like what I saw from Velasquez in Spring Training but maybe he was working on some things.

Over/Under is currently at 10. Do you take the over with Velasquez and a guy making his MLB debut on the mound?

So Velazquez was the best they could dig up for Opening Day. These are not the Tigers we are facing.

At least Seattle has to play a night game, then fly to Chicago, then play a mid-afternoon game. Maybe they're legs won't be 100%.

Is Velasquez a guy that can be "fixed" or improved upon? I am really hoping they targeted him based on an Ethan Katz recommendation or something.

Seems like an easy over.

Velesquez has been solid in even number years, just got to hope that trends continues in 2022.

So we'll get Brash, Ray and Gilbert.

Easy win.

If Brash is going to be their starter it’ll be interesting to see if the Sox struggle again this year against good sliders. He’s a well-regarded prospect and is coming off a great season split between A+ and AA. Reports say he’s got good velocity, a good slider, and passable curves and changes.

Even if he could I wouldn't expect great results since they have only had a month to work with him. Usually it take a decent amount of time for a pitcher to adjust to changes even if they are willing.

For who ?

If VV gives up less than 4 runs, no matter the innings pitched, I’ll consider it a win.

Let's not be that way.

anyone watch the tribe/royals game? Oof @ that pitching lol

The White Sox going against Brash seems like a nightmare waiting to happen.

Twinks will be busy with the Dodgers this week.

Posted this in September about Brash. Filth indeed.

Wednesday forecast is looking ominous.

Mariners only had 2 hits tonight. Hope that continues.
