He also decided to swing when the ball was basically in the catcher's glove. He didn't get anything close to hit and still struck out.

That was a 2018 TA at-bat. Just brutal.

Yankees could have challenged that call at 3rd. Engel's hand slipped off when Donaldson tagged him. I guess you can probably argue that the tag forced his hand off the base though, so they didn't challenge. 

TA swung at 3 balls, come on hitting coach do your job.  When everyone is swinging at every pitch that is on you 

6 pitches, none of them close. Awful at bat.

So that's what he's getting paid for.

My least favorite rule in baseball is when runners get called out for sliding off the bag for 0.001 seconds. But Engel did there and he technically was out. I wish they'd allow runners to slide through the bag similar to how you can run through first, but that's obviously not the rule.
