Tony had to have him.

No one has to twist Hahn's arm for him to invest too much in relievers

  • So, to be clear. Vaughn, Robert, Anderson, and Moncada all need rest frequently or something. Abreu, Grandal, Harrison, Pollock, and Garica need to play every game. The first group is y

  • The better version of this should be "I knew my career was over when I saw Rick Hahn calling"

  • Moncada/TA can't play two games. Garcia/Harrison have to play two games. Chess not checkers.

is Kelly toast?

The stuff is there, he just has no control. You do wonder if his bicep injury is still somewhat affecting him if his control is this bad.

Joe Kelly is in .. rally time..

Gotta be careful vs Whit and his 42 wRC+. Nice job, Joe

Kelly needs to be in AAA working this all out.

Yeah, great job here so far. Didn't even make it to the normal Sox 8th inning, before the failboat started.

I dont even think his control has been that bad, he has thrown some REAL close pitches that I was surprised batters took. Much like the ball he just threw there.

If these guys don't throw strikes...

Kelly has no control or sharpness so far.  I get he has been hurt and is working back into shape, but maybe then we shouldn't be using him as a primary set up guy, right Tony?

He looks to be in love with his curveball, but it's not even close and nobody is swinging at it.

That’s fine. Let him bat and if he gets on, pinch run him for the guy that is going to come in for defense anyway.

Edit: stepped away to take a shower and missed a lefty was on the mound.

I mean I don't have any problem with bringing in Engel to replace Sheets at any point when Sheets in the OF.  But if you're go to do that, do it before you let Sheets face the lefty.

What a disaster this has been, feels like he was forced up way before he should have been.

Yeah I didn’t realize it was a lefty on the mound. Stepped away.

Signing one more expensive reliever will surely solve all of this teams problems

Why do they keep throwing him in close games

I thought it couldn't get much worse than Bummer. I was very wrong.

This is so fucking dumb.

Well, cause we only play close games lol

take him out tony

Going to be shocked if this game isnt tied after this inning.

Just take him out now.

Fantastic Joe Kelly.  WTF.

Just throw the games away, TLR....these games don't count as much as the games later in the year. Lets keep running Joe Kelly out there, in games that are in doubt.

Wow, they're pinch hitting for Salvy.

Oh wait, you can pinch hit with a normal starter on a day when they are on the bench in a clutch situation?  Does Tony know?
