Fire Rick Hahn

Hahn should have been fired 3x by now, after the 2015, 2016 and 2022 seasons. (Balta will argue more but I don't think any org would have fired him before 2015)

Where has Balta been?

Carlos Rodon is currently 1st in fWAR amongst all pitchers.  Rick Hahn passed on offering him a QO, which would have secured him for the 2023 season at $18.5M or resulted in the addition of a compensa

Boy everything was puppy dogs and rainbows for like a game and a half.  That's a world record heal turn.

Everything was chocolate chip cookies and milk!

Graveman walking Maldonado was the death knell for last night's game.  You can't walk the worst hitter.  He sucks yet Hahn paid him like an elite reliever.

He didn't pay him like an elite reliever but the long term deal bleh.

I am not defending Graveman’s performance last because he was awful, but he was fine in 2022. And he doesn’t need to “elite” to be worth $8M AAV.

Bummer probably isn’t available back to back nights yet. They just had to roll with Diekman. A Hahn mistake that will keep haunting.  Graveman not getting Maldonado was grave as well, and Bregman and Tucker with stellar defense also killed the Sox last night. Oh well. I would have taken 1-1 at this point since the schedule came out.

I think the mistake was just not rolling with Lambert in the 7th. He threw like 5 pitches. Was no need to use Graveman in a back to back at that point.

That would require at least three bullpen meltdowns (consecutively) in Houston..

it was for you

Probably somewhere preserving his sanity while not paying attention to the Sox

That's called overmanaging.

Yeah he's probably quitting until Hahn is fired.

Disney just signed that contract in Florida that is valid until 21 years after the death of the last descendent of King Charles III. Which happens first, that or Hahn gets fired?

Only thing this bullpen is missing is Sisco and MacDougal

Graveman was not good last year; neither was Ruiz.  And certainly not Diekman.

One pitcher who was good was Tanner Banks (he's 31; they're effing around because of options?); so was Davis Martin.

Names from the past, that was Kenny Williams doing. ?

glad we spent a big chunk of our “contention window” budget on a bunch of bum-ass relievers. ffs

At least KW's philosophy was to provide the fans exciting offense...even of they finished 2nd or 3rd.

See 2000 2003 2006 2008 2010 etc.

Fwiw, Twins' pen has looked awesome so far..albeit against the Royals.

Like look at Balta still determining just how many losses the past 2 seasons were on Tony La Russa

He asked the mods the ban him for his sanity. Now it's my job to campaign to get him unbanned.

I agree a few relief pitchers haven’t been sharp but it would be a big help if the offense could drive in those runners on base. If we win Sunday for. Series split I will be happy

The split doesn’t matter. The state of the bullpen matters.

JR keeps guys around years after their usefulness. Hahn and Williams should have both been cleared out 4 years ago!

Do we un-fire him now that we are 2-2 vs the defending Champs? I'm not sure how this works, just looking for clarification.

What a desastre for the Astros.

I live that Moncada kid! Let’s sign him to a long term contract and money is no object
