The sad part is that we probably win this game if Kopech doesn't give up 4 base runners to start the game. This one is on the coaching staff.

Agree.

Still - so many chances to win somehow, and they just manage to piss it all away every time.

  • You hear that? The Royals haven't scored 5 runs since they last played the Sox. LOL

  • Do any of you actually think that this team deserves to be in the post season, even if they somehow end up in it? This team doesn't deserve it, nor fan support. Let management be required to fix the o

What is the purpose of yelling and screaming? The imp isn’t going to change his call

To fight for your players and stand up for your team.

Looking into Pollock's contract details, it's not a lock he comes back. That buyout he can take instead of picking up his player option increases $1 mill at 400, 450, 500, 550, etc plate appearances.

It’s bad enough he sucks in 2022. The more they play him, the higher the likelihood he returns to suck in 2023.

No reason to be trading these guys. They can hit and play multiple positions which gives the manager options. You don’t trade out of frustration

Pray tell - what positions are those?

Do you take drugs, Josh?

That's relevant how? Can you see it's a joke and being sarcastic? Think your comment is outta line to be honest

I went looking and hoping that the Joe Kelly contract had an option year next year.....nope, the option year is 2024.

this season is just one stab wound after another...like being back in the yard

Bullpen mismanagement and not pinch hitting for Harrison in the7 th with men at 2 nd and3 rd with one out were also reasons.

Kelly, oy.

IIRC, he started doing similar stuff last year during this time. It may just be the fatigue from the season. They're called the dog days for a reason.

Also, is it just me or does Vaughn look bigger around the waist compared to last year? His sprint speed is about 14% slower compared to last year.

Yes, he looks significantly slower.  You could tell someone he’s 35 years old and they wouldn’t think you’re lying.  He’s the epitome of maxed out college player.

Baltimore is going to be tough to win series

That's one jabroni that I hated. The dude that let his players get shafted by the umps and did nothing

He has done that but you’re not doing anything for your team when you get tossed every time you argue about bad calls and then have to sit in the dressing room

It seems to happen once a week where there’s just a horrible loss with disgusting decisions made, as well as a potentially awful injury.

The level of incompetence at all levels is astonishing.

Math time:

if Cleveland goes 21-21 with one win vs the Sox, we have to play .600 ball the final 40 to pass them. Something we can’t do apparently.

This game was a perfect microcosm of the season and the rot that pervades the whole organization. Just awful.

Catcher, RF, LF, IB and DH

Letting a clearly injured starting pitcher put you in a 4-0 hole with no outs would get some managers fired.

And then the team miraculously stays in the race somehow. But they don't ever do enough to take control of the division or go on any prolonged runs that make you think they're good. This season really has been the equivalent of baseball hell.

Doesn't really sound like a bad thing.

It's a Caddyshack joke.

A thousand pardons for crossing your line.

Need to read the room better.

Pretty sure I disagree on at least 2 of those 5 (if not 3), at least if you're expecting to have some semblance of competency.

Defining loss of the season.

Yes, it is. A ton of men left on base. Going down oh so easy in the ninth.
