Nancy Faust plays na na on his home run trot. My gosh what a day. The Sox are back. If Beni was healthy the lineup at least would be way more potent than before. Elko and Nancy Faust. Wow. And the Pope.

Boston could use better backup catching.

Maybe package him and  a streaking Vaughn.

Obviously not getting the same level of guys, but Sox did just come through their system. Had to be a few lower tier guys they liked outside of Wikelman.

Dang it we're never going to contend again if we keep playing the trade game. Saddens me more than maddens me. ... Can't we just enjoy a hot streak of Vaughn, the emergence of Elko and Meidroth and Quero and the Pope?

Theiss is an absolute goner. You have Quero, Teel, and even Lee. You trade him for something for sure.

Rojas having a rough day at the hot corner.  They need Vargas back there pronto.

I agree, Vargas should have won the 3rd base job over Rojas.

That's still much better than taking on Devers' contract for a 1B/DH and being locked out of the FA market for the next half decade or so...

LOL let's go extreme on those examples, like that's suppose to make Sox fans feel better.  Might as well be excited with Birmingham as well.

Winning is more enjoyable, and the Sox need more talent to win.  The only way they seem to be able to get real talent is from other teams (maybe Elko and the starters will break the spell).

Frankly, they should see what they can get for Shane Smith.  Probably not enough.  But if some team offered a Crochet-like package....

Smith has less value than we think, because he only pitched 94 innings and will eventually be looking at similar restrictions as Crochet faced the final two months in 2024...at least if he maintains his current IP/start pace into the summer months.

Mostly joking but at least 25-33% serious/resigned to moves like this to sell off players for cash.

No offense, and I am not a Royals fan as evidenced by my attending 2 games total the past four seasons, but why do they win once in a while the old fashioned way? Ditto Detroit for gosh sakes and Minnie. All tiny markets. You can't tell me we're THAT poor we can't compete with those woebegone franchises. And yes, Lip, I realize Jerry won't open the wallet. But cmon even you Lip must be furious that we have to trade anybody with a pulse in hopes we land somebody with a stellar heartbeat who can help us win it all in about a 3 year window before they must be traded. This ain't the way to run any business.

Would you like the Sox to extend Theiss? What do you do with him other than trade him?

Guy throwing out three baserunners has no place on this squad.
