Guy was trying to walk them

I didn't like Mune pinch hitting, he strikes out to much and yes he could hit a homer just as easily but this pitcher was wild and he swung at two balls out of the zone, he struck himself out

Reds were the better team. The record doesn't show it, but then again they don't play in the AL Central.

Thanks to the worse division in baseball.

4 games above .500.

Is 4 games above .500 bad? Bet a lot of teams would want to change places with us! Except the Dodgers, of course.

Sometimes these losses feel good because you put up a good fight but came up short. This feels real shitty because it feels like the offense did their job and the pitching was absolute clown shoes.

Something needs to be done with Martin. It’s past the alarm bells, he has no control anymore and he is getting torched before the Sox get to hit.

Analogous to the least stinky of the piles of s%*# that make up the AL Central.

Truth. But I didn’t realize how awful the AL West was as well. Even worse.

I know Tanner sucked, but I am not sure even if Martin continues, he wouldn't have sucked just as much, and then they still would have thrown McDougal. Davis has not been good in the 2nd half.

Both around .190 since ASB. No matter what Getz did at the deadline, they won’t make the postseason if these two guys continue to be so bad.

Also.....who the hell is pitching tomorrow?

Offense was clearly not the issue in this game…

The use of Hicks out of the pen cost them both games.

With noone out, it was Ok to take a walk there...he was trying to tie it up.

Big series coming up. Learn from mistakes, make adjustments, and move forward.

Glad to read about Teel possibly returning before expected.

With all the issues with the rotation, our bullpen has been pretty decent. Back end with Grant Taylor and Jordan Hicks is nice. Some of the middle relief guys need to step up .

Our worst pitchers of the second half were what cost them these two games (Martin, Fedde, Hudson)

I don’t think only scoring 8 runs was the issue.

I mentioned it around the deadline, but this has kind of a 2020/2012 vibe where the pitching was extended past where their talents and abilities were, and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of these guys had struggles. The offense I am not as worried about, as there are some definite boom and bust guys in a bust cycle. The pitching just has so many guys either at their limits, or regressing to their historic norms that this shouldn't be a surprise.

True. Amazing how the AL is mostly a pile of s%*# outside of the frugal Rays.

Our pitching was bad today. Too many gopher balls and walks. Bullpen management was not the best. Left MacDougal in one batter too long. IMO.

Losing two of three at home to a bad Reds club is an embarrassment.

Martin has simply sucked since the break, four straight games he's given up runs in the first inning and put his team in the hole. Including Thursday’s shortened start, he has allowed 23 runs over his last five starts, with 15 of those runs coming in the first inning.

Fedde has also regressed since he's been moved to the bullpen.

After today he's got a 6.94 ERA since June 1.

Sure, but when 2 of your best hitters give you nothing, it's a lot harder to win.

I was so hoping for Vargas to be a core member on this team, same with Colson. I never believed in Peters being a long term piece.

I would guess MacDougal is sent down after that debut?

And not close on most of the pitches

He should've gotten yanked as soon as he walked his third batter, like you said, nothing close to strikes. Then he hits the batter to force in the 9th run which ultimately killed us.

Like I said, I really not worried long term about them in general. The big thing I worry about with Colson is if he is healthy. I do have flash backs to last year when he completely cratered, and we never really got told why, I guess subconsciously I just attributed it to his back, but I guess who knows.
