Actually a lot of us did. Exceeding low expectations doesn't automatically mean you were successful. If you're taking an exam and you need a 70 to pass, you fail whether you got a 40 or a 69. The only reason the regular season exists is to determine who goes to the postseason. A century + of White Sox mismanagement shouldn't mean our fans have to be happy with failure of a lesser degree.

Based on pre-season expectations the 2026 season is a success regardless of any post season play, based on expectations at the asb not making the play offs even via wild card would be a disappointment but still a good season, however based on the position they were in at the trade deadline then failing to reach the post season would not be a success.

I am going to reserve Roch judgement until he actually gets into the system and gets going. As a Sox fan I am never going to forget two teams talking themselves out of Carlos Rodon in a similar situation.

Agreed, and to add to Tony’s post, I would say Roch not being a “likely MVP candidate” was a bit disappointing this year.

There is a massive storm brewing off the east coast that is expected to bring heavy rain to the NE over the next week. In a worse case landfall situation the entire Red Sox Tribe series would be in danger. I have no idea what would even happen if they couldn't get a game in. I'd imagine they'd have to make it up ASAP with a double header, but what if they can't even get a single day they can play in? Would they move it to Toronto or something? I have no fucking clue.

Would you rather play a team who clinched and their season is extended or a team with guys trying to hang onto a MLB career and their vacation starts next week?
