  3. Why don't we look at the 2018 fWAR leaders and their starts Betts - first 197 games .818 OPS Trout - first 179 games .911 OPS Ramirez - first 180 games a .644 OPS Bregman - first 204 games .818 OPS Lindor - first 99 games.835 OPS Yelich - first 206 games .765 OPS Chapman - first 84 games .785 OPS Machado - first 207 games .744 OPS Rendon - first 98 games ,725 OPS Martinez - first 166 games .705 OPS Arenado - first 133 games .706 OPS Cain - not comparable never a really good hitter Simmons - not comparable never a really good hitter Baez - first 222 games .680 OPS Freeman - first 177 games .784 OPS So basically of the top 13 offensive WAR players only 4 of them started out hitting over .800 OPS

  6. I've written letters to JR for years and I always received a response from him. But when I wrote him a letter requesting to be interviewed for the White Sox Gm job, I didn't receive any response from him. Maybe he's keeping my letter on file and he will eventually get back to me. I'm still open to being the White Sox GM. If I become the White Sox GM , I promise all White Sox fans the greatest fun ride in modern White Sox history. I WILL MAKE THE WHITE SOX GREAT AGAIN!!!!

  10. And his K-rate and his line drive rate and so on. To be fair though, if you were alive back then you would say that Joe DiMaggio‘s average is plummeting and in free fall one day after his hitting streak ended.

  11. If he's being pulled after 84 pitches and 4 IP, the organization likely wants him to save innings in the minors so he can pitch throughout September in Chicago. Calm down.

  13. Interesting if Engel was sent down. That should be it for his career. Baseball can be cruel. Mr. Engel can sure field, but can't hit a lick. Another big league hopeful bites the dust (I realize nothing was expected of him as a 19th round pick).

  17. They’ve gotten a little smarter at how they try and mask their incompetence. Used to be we were told about “three year plans” as a way of explaining away current ineptitude while kicking the can down the road. Now we have a “rebuild”, which is conveniently open-ended. Why lock yourself into figuring out how to fix this mess of an organization in three years when you can just call it a rebuild and let it go on indefinitely, all the while the massive profits pile up for ownership.

  25. Any other org this mess with the roster and underperformance by the pitching would have had a few people gone. Honestly coop needs to step away. Do it graciously, but it needs to be done. Honestly until the sox are owned by baseball people this will be the story. I'm sorry but this team has been ran by incompetence all these years. Kenny has to be the first incompetent. He's just clinging to 05. I bet if he's even gone from the sox he doesn't get another ML job. Enough is enough.

  28. At some point...a long series of injuries and failed prospects cannot be considered bad luck. We're not to that point yet, but we're on the edge of it. For example - it could be that acquiring pitching prospects en masse is fundamentally flawed because you can't develop them or keep them healthy. It could be that you acquire talented players but you neglect the training and development staff and facilities, causing a lot of injuries at all levels. It could be that your scouting department is weak and that even though you thought you were getting decent players, you were getting schooled by other GMs who specifically gave you guys that they were only willing to part with because their former teams thought they were likely to bust or get hurt.

  31. Eloy is a month into his ML career so let's take it easy there. He's going to be a really good hitter for a lot of years. As for Yoan, he didn't necessarily dominate MILB if I remember correctly.

  46. Millenial here: I prefer to watch games on my digital device with headphones in, not talking to anyone. Games are too expensive (ESPECIALLY PARKING, HARUMPH), not to mention the mayo on the foods! Plus I like to be taking selfie photography to upload to my friends on a SOCIAL NETWORKING device, and the WiFi at the baseball ball park is TERRIBLE. Also baseball is slow and my attention span is no
