  1. Have you lived in this country for long? Have you been sleeping through all the horrible things we have been doing to each other for the past few hundred years?

  2. Trump now demanding all churches be open. Says if Governors don't oblige, he will override them. Truly a man of God.

  3. To me the owners crying poor over the lost revenue from ticket sales is just lazy. Adapt or die. -Empty seats? Sounds like a ton of advertising space to me. -Fans stuck at home? Get more creative with your merchandising to target that. “At home ballpark experience bundle” (or something like that and more) -Sell more games to more networks -Have a discount sale on mlb.tv and the sales would probably skyrocket If anything the owners should be pushing to get back as soon as possible. Being the only televised sport at a time when people’s mouths are watering for any kind of sport to watch sounds like a gold mine if you ask me.

  4. I'm not sure how adding Colas is in any way a bad thing, especially at the amounts listed, and while knowing what we seem to know about our organization, i.e. we will never get the kind of prospect the Yankees just signed because we aren't going to start hanging around the playground soliciting children.

  5. So, scientists and doctors correct, Trump wrong. Who would have figured? Apparently, there is a dire shortage of ICU beds in Alabama. The other sad news is a new study indicates that as many as 42% of the recent job losses will not come back. Competent leadership matters. There is all kinds of info how this was basically ignored for a couple of months, and it has really hurt everyone except the filthy rich. Bezos net worth has gone up $34 billion since this began, Zuckerberg $25 billion.

  8. Prior to that game, we were all panicked, and someone here took a photo of the Angels Rally Monkey and photoshopped Joe Crede’s face on it as the Rally Crede. It was after 9:00 and I was sitting in my office stressed out waiting, literally half this site had the Rally Crede as their avatar already, and bang. Even though we lost the next game, we had our swagger back. We went to Minny, lost game 1, then McCarthy gave us a great performance, and that was Cleveland’s last chance. I think that may have started the 8 game win streak to end the year. The Rally Crede and McCarthy, they pulled us out of it. Many of us had the Rally Crede as our avatars the rest of that offseason. And yes, I have this. credehr.wav

  9. I’m still debating if what Biden said was that wrong. I see it more of turning off voters in his tone, but I don’t think the message is necessarily wrong, especially when you have a president saying there are very fine people in both sides and call countries shithole countries.

  10. Fulmer is listed on Baseball Refence at 6'0" 195 lbs and he looks more like 5'10" or 5'11" to me. Crochet is 6'6" legit and listed at 218. I watched the video HOFHurt35 posted and the guys in it say they've heard things about him going as high as top 5. This is my guy also. I hope he's still there at 11 and we take him, and I hope the silence about him is because we don't want anything leaked.

  11. LHP / RF right now, which is very different than Viciedo, who came up as a 3B, then transitioned to mostly LF as a right handed bat.

  12. If he’s Jose Abreu and signed for 64 million less that is a very good outcome. There is a lot of room beneath cespedes and Robert whole still being worth a few mill

  13. Why would a tyrannical, unreasonable governor allow movie theatres? Now KS is suddenly conservative again? Guess that governor and Board of Commissioners wasn’t so all-powerful, after all. Trump was perfectly happy to send out those checks...and wanted MORE. Still does. Thought it was just a great idea. And sent out letters with his ridiculous signature (just imagine the ink/printing costs) claiming credit for personally delivering the money, even it it was already there in the account via Direct Deposit. You can dream on about the $10,000. It’s going to be perfectly calibrated to potentially elicit your vote, and that alone. So we can honestly debate the societal benefits (versus disincentives) of massive non tax-payers like Amazon and Facebook largely funding $1000-1500 per month to the 10-12 million Americans who will never get their jobs back (Yang Gang talked about this plan for month after month), but that’s too nuanced an argument. For now, Trump will be a socialist if it helps him. He simply doesn’t have any guiding principles beyond holding onto power.

  14. We have a limit of 70 max people. Last week there were 14. Way more dangerous to be in a liquor store IMO. People are committing suicide. People are freaking out and depressed. We need church. As trump said it's an essential service. He even mentioned the liquor store fiasco. It's pretty obvious with the NCAA allowing kids on campus for volunteer workouts and the openings of movie theatres in conservative states like Kansas, that like it or not, the plan has begun to open everything up and pretty much allow us all to get the virus. Let's pray (or hope if you are not religious) we have bodies strong enough to prevail over the virus. The economy simply has to open no matter what the exotic ice cream eating governors think. Only other option is socialism and start sending us all 10,000 a crack not 1,200 bucks. Peace.

  15. yi Why does he want to override them on this issue when he has been deferring to governors for so long? Does he even have the authority to do this? This is so phony, it reeks. At my wife's church, no one wants to return yet. So many of the congregation is over 60. I guess they don't feel like dying when the service is already streamed.

  17. Thank goodness. Liquor stores have been open. My pastor has safety regulations totally in place. I would love to see a list of states Trump is overriding. We sit three to a row eight feet apart. Every fourth row. Masks mandatory. Hand cleaner at door. if I get it I get it. Shoulda done this weeks ago regarding churches compared to liquor stores. Anybody know if Illinois churches have been open? They are now. p.s. Like I said about last Sunday. Our Mass had 14 people. Across the street. Graduation party with at least 50. No masks. Gimme a break at the discrepancy. Pastors are taking precautions. If we get it we get it just like if we go to the store for some booze.

  18. Considering that I have found myself watching televised cornhole and a 'professional" rock skipping contest recently, I could not agree with you more. I have a 12 pack of Sox Ale in the basement ready to chill up for the beginning of this season.

  19. Viciedo was also supposed to be like Panda Sandoval. if we got that kind of player for a tiny amount of "use it or lose it" money why complain at all? Another thing: IIRC Dayan was the guy who would have gotten us Dunn from the Nats instead of Edwin Jackson. And while hindsight says that was never a good route to travel in, the point is that, if that is true, another MLB GM thought he had more value than Dan Hudson or Edwin Jackson back then. That could have gotten us a pretty good player in a trade regardless. Even if Colas turns into a player we can't really use -- like our version of Miguel Andujar, who I personally think blows anyway -- at least we will have something we can trade for value to some team somewhere.

  26. Why haven't you bought a gun yet? Why are you not planning a move to Mexico or someplace safer? Your chances of survival will be slim with the riots that are coming, I understand the folks that don't believe the hype not being prepared, but you are one of the few that really understand what's coming, yet you are just letting it happen. I was puzzled by this but it's all finally coming together, getting clearer . . . You know this is a suspicious virus, created with ill intents towards America. But instead of trying to end it, you want to help it along. You want to help spread the virus by being in public, without a mask, getting haircuts and stuff and wanting others to follow your example. It must be your sworn duty. Clearly you are the enemy, yet you are trying so hard to warn the good people here. Sadly, so many are ignoring you. You are brave G7 to try to lead us away from America's ruin. And as a Texan, and American, I salute you.

  29. Beat me to it. I feel like that is the part that most people that are protesting and refusing to wear a mask don't understand. It was never to protect you...it is to protect the people you interact with in case you are someone that is asymptomatic. All these Karen idiots refusing to wear masks at stores in public places just blow my mind. It is called PUBLIC health....meaning for the general PUBLIC. What you do in your own house is your own business but when you are in PUBLIC you should follow PUBLIC guidelines.

  33. Longenhagen also put a 35 FV on Jimmy Lambert and rated Yermin as the #8 prospect in the system. I think it is a lot easier to teach body type and work ethic than it is to teach skill. Put Colas around guys like Robert and Moncada and see how he develops. Because Colas is a prospect with some ability, I hope we sign him. We always need more quality prospects. Also, we should feel pretty good about his chances to play at the AA level immediately, and maybe also play well enough at the AAA level in the same year as his debut. Most of the players who are going to get these high 6 and small 7 figure bonuses are never going to make it that far anyway. And think about it, it's about the same cost as dumping the buyouts on Wellington and Nate Jones.

  35. Willis was still arb eligible. They could have just non tendered him. I don’t even think the Sox came in second place. The Angels were all over him as well. They just didn’t like the Sox package as much as the others.
