  1. lol pnoles is the ultimate never played after 6th grade reply guy. it does not in fact make any sense.

No it was Chad Bradford in the movie. He wasn't the closer, though. I don't think Koch is even mentioned in the movie.
  3. Perhaps one could say you had been Cam Boozled
  4. Getz plan with the zero stuff bullpen was of course as stupid as can be
  5. I don’t think he’s wrong. They’ve had a lot of good at bats up there. They just don’t have any talent.

And Kenny still has one more World Series victory than Billy Beane. Maybe they can put that in the sequel.

JR and Getz — everything they touch turns to s%*#.

Speaking as someone who lives in the Detroit area, I can say that this is factually incorrect
  9. They're one more starting pitcher injury from a real crisis. That said...the Royals Twins and Guardians all seem to have taken steps back.
  10. With the way the pitchers were used and who’s playing where, this has the feel of a spring training game. Counts about as much as one.
  11. Can't believe you'd say such a thing about a guy with a new stance
  12. Or that his best acquisition (Fedde) turned into acquiring the worst player in baseball since they got him?
  13. Refreshing to have a full team effort loss where you don't solely point the finger at the offense, defense, starting pitching, relief pitching...
  14. There goes my dream of turning Booser into a failed Dodger prospect who is out of options.
  15. What has he done as a talent evaluator and trader that makes you think he can do this job well? If anything, he seems better suited for a director of operations position.
  16. The hardest working people in the Sox universe have to be the Getz excuse makers. There is no way they actually believe he shouldn’t be fired.
  17. What about making up reasons you wish were true?
  18. People really have to stop trying to rationally explain decisions that are being made
  19. baseball-reference.com is blocked in China, give him a break
  20. Wrong again. His first start at SS was in 2022
  21. This offense being terrible is just exacerbated by Robert and Vaughn being terrible.
  22. She really is great at her job. Honestly I think CHSN isn't doing bad in terms of coverage. The access in Chicagoland is bs.
  23. SWING THE BAT. YOU'RE TRYING TO TURN A HOE INTO A HOUSEWIFE AIN'T GOING TO WORK!
  24. Katz has the charisma of a wet paper sack.
  25. "as we look at the stars of this series"
  26. No offense to Lip but I don’t think he watches the games anymore. They look far more competent up there than last year. Just not delivering when they have guys on. Bases are far more active though.
  27. The Cubs DFAed Gage Workman. Wonder if the Sox would just swap him out for Amaya. Workman's a good-glove SS, looks like he'd hit better than Amaya.
  28. "and I was dumb enough to say yes to this job"
  29. When you put it in your mind that every decision Getz has made is a bad one, it’s easier to understand

I think the bigger red flag here isn't ratings per se, but more of loss of audience and the huge loss of revenue that would go with it.

Wow. McCarthy has been god awful this year.

Vaughn in a heated race for worst player in baseball so far. -.6 fWAR is impressive in 20 odd games.

Dalquist having a nice start to the year. Still only 24. Pallette unfortunately struggling. Saw Keone Kela attempting a comeback? 32 years old. Sometimes mlb veterans still chasing the dream can be good mentors or examples of professionalism for the youngsters.

Good. Made a couple routine plays easily, moved well. Was on a scorched ball in the hole but it got by him. Would rather see him at SS over Burrowes, who just doesn't look like he can hit at all.

Let's say he becomes the Sox closer...and then what, we HOPE for one amazing half-season or 1 1/2 seasons, then trade him to the highest bidder? What value does he really have on a 100-120 loss White Sox team, except via trade to another contending team that could really use him?
  36. I mean sure, but good teams win when they make 2 errors or not. We're not just a bad team, we're once again potentially historically bad. We did our old 6 hits per run thing. No power and we play in the 3 TTO era at a bandbox come summer. At least KW's old s%*# teams were entertaining to watch and could knock it around the park once and awhile.
  37. There's ONE person right now that can actually write well, and insightfully on the topic of the White Sox. And that's James Fegan. Whose reward for being good at his job was being rescued by SoxMachine and Margalus because there weren't enough eyeballs on his writing thanks to JR. Everything else is basically just white noise. It doesn't matter what anyone else says or writes, JR is never going to change. It's almost a point of pride for him.

True but I definitely think the plan is to stretch him out eventually.

Taylor is a lot less exciting as a closer.

Was at the Kannapolis game tonight. Montgomery looked solid, although none of his hits was particularly well struck and he was clearly out at first on one of them. Mongollon's homer was a monster, and he hit three balls really hard. Good player although obviously not a very high ceiling. But generates great bat speed for his size. Really small guy, probably 5'5. Bonemer was, to me, easily the best prospect on the team and in the park. He just looks the part, thick and athletic looking, very fast bat. It was easy for him, he was all over the MB reliever who was tough for everyone else to square up and made Montgomery look kinda silly. Good fielder, really good athlete. Very high on him after watching, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it to Birmingham this year. Wolkow is struggling. Burrows is overmatched.
