I just want an owner that will spend money. If that is done consistently, an organization can win. Lightning in a bottle happens so seldom for teams with low payrolls. Sure, a tem can still suck with a higher payroll but I'll take my chances when checks are written.5 points

But seriously, why are you drafting a guy that you quickly give up on as a starter that high?3 points

Im willing to bet he had some ridiculous ask that he refused to budge from, which should have been the Dylan Cease move not the Luis Robert of today move. If they were willing to send money, but then altered it or took it off the table, that just gives more credibility to the fact they would rather save money than get something done I think.3 points

From my perspective, you should be teaching people the right way to play the game and developing maturity in the minor leagues. The big leagues is about talent and doing your job: when you arrive, you should already know the right way to play.3 points

Whose idea was it to make Taylor into a bullpen arm? Genius that guy is.2 points

lol I was just thinking that the baseball gods saw that post I wrote and told me to go f*** myself. It can't get any better I don't think.2 points

If nothing else, this series shows just how far away the Sox are from contending.2 points

It’s not as if he was hurt stepping over the foul line. A huge man ran into him.2 points

Last year they were talking about how great the clubhouse was….now this year when they started to win a few games, the clubhouse is so much better….I agree with the above. Winning usually means clubhouse is fine. If you’re losing 100 plus and trying to talk up your clubhouse, you obviously aren’t focused on what’s important.2 points

It is a talking point because bringing him back makes no sense. Another major leg injury. The only reason they would bring him back is for him to play better and they could get a couple of decent prospects for him. That's best case scenerio That would cost the White Sox at least another $10 million, if everything worked out. Why don't they let him go, and take that 10 million and try to buy a couple of middling prospects? At least as good of result, way less risk. Just because they didn't trade him in July is no reason to have to hold on to him now. To me, THAT is a fireable offense. But there have been many fireable offenses over the years that just came and went.2 points

Well, the guy responsible for holding people accountable in regards to that was terrible at his job.2 points

Look, this is one of the few "veteran presence" guys who actually did the job he was paid to do, so I will give them props for getting the scouting right in this case. But these fill a hole filling signings are the things you celebrate with an 85 win team trying to eek a bit more out of a roster, and not a 41 win team looking to build a critical mass of kids to rebuild with.2 points

Veteran presence is so valued in the game that veteran pay has declined since the last CBA and guys like Tauchman are practically available for free.2 points

Idiots instead gave it to Kimbrel. Was so stupid - said it than and will continue to say it now.2 points

I’ll never understand what Getz is doing. Sure, Fletcher, DeLoach, and Robertson could all suck, but why did you acquire them to barely give them at bats over the course of two losing seasons when a guy like MAT is still getting starts?1 point

I wish they would have stretched out Schultz before promoting him to AAA. Then they would have known he dropped a tick or two on a full starter's workload.1 point

The big 3 pitching prospects heading into this season have been worst case scenario outside of getting hurt1 point

Montgomery, holding my breath he sticks. Earlier this year Taylor and Schultz. Even Cannon and Burke looked like they'd be back of the rotation starters. Some of the apparent busts I guess are bullpen possibilities (Dalquist, Kelley, Palette, et al). There have been a lot of teases. Hoping it all comes together.1 point

I don't see these guys ever getting to the playoffs on this team, not for at least 5 years1 point

I don't remember that. I guess he drew "interest" but it was probably for garbage. I think he's a rookie who got rushed, the stuff is there, his control is OK.1 point

Remember when Getz was gonna get a hefty haul from Grant Taylor? That guy sucks!1 point

Is there any reason to keep him up at this point? This has to be destroying any confidence the guy had.1 point

Around and around it goes. Hahn/Williams JR cheapness/spending restrictions Haber/Hostetler/scoutung & evaluation staff Dave Wilder Renteria too lax TLR too out of touch Montoyo since Robert didn't know him Ishbia for being a PE guy All the rotten players that left under a cloud Injuries The training and fitness staff When does it ever come back to Getz?1 point

Well, there's no way they are ever moving Benintendi. He cant hit, he can't field. He will be DFA'd before midseason in 2027 if I had to put money on it. Unless of course, some team just really needs that veteran leadership he can provide and has to have him 😉 Robert, as Tony has pointed out, has been the exact same player for 2 seasons now. Not a very good one. And certainly not worth $20M. No one is going to trade for him in the offseason, and like I said, Ill believe it when I see it in regards to them picking up this option.1 point

I enjoyed this tweet from the guy. "We were expected to be good and completely fucking floundered...now everyone thinks we're bad and thus we're going to be good". I dunno if the brothers are the same way in this regard, I'd only note that the grass is not always greener. None of these buffoons should 'own' a baseball team.1 point
