LaRussa's WS team won 83 games. 83 seems like a lot with all the celebrating you do for 60. Not only that, knock fans who think 60 wins really sucks.2 points

Caulfield you really don’t need to be jumping into different threads and reminding everyone about the Sox futility when it has nothing to do with the subject matter being discussed westeddy sorry about your brother1 point

The Dodgers have like 3x the payroll. At some point, talent wins over whatever the Brewers have.1 point

Just incredible. Milwaukee being held to four runs total in four games by the Dodgers is also remarkable.1 point

These are the White Sox afterall. Inexperienced at the MLB level and therefore cheap? Welcome aboard!1 point

I never said that about Thompson and Mena, but nice try putting words in my mouth like you always do to everyone. But if Getz gets credit for the developmental success of players he DFA’s or trades away, shouldn’t he also be blamed for not keeping said prospects? Afterall, Getz chose to add Sammy Peralta to the roster in 2024 rather than retaining Rule 5 pick Shane Drohan in a season his team lost a record-setting 121 games. That is the type of season in which a Rule 5 pick can easily be retained, had Getz thought Drohan was worth keeping. Getz DFA’ed Peralta twice that same season and he left via free agency at the end of the season. Getz also thought that 33-year old, -0.5 bWAR, lefty reliever Cam Booser was worth trading away Fajardo for. This is like praising Hahn and the Sox for signing and developing Fernando Tatis Jr. only for Hahn to trade him away for a washed-up bum in James Shields. Congrats, I guess?1 point

The Los Angeles Dodgers have played 124 games in the postseason since 2011. The White Sox 7.1 point

There’s a lot to criticize the Getz regime on, but their performance in the Rule 5 draft seems to be a pretty thin reed. Drohan wasn’t a sexy pick, but a lefty with starter traits who had success at AAA isn’t a horrible gamble for essentially nothing. Real problem there was health. Obviously they did much better this year. Also, why are people dogging on some JC pitching coach for getting his dream job? Seems kinda extreme, but I suppose there’s not a lot of news until after the WS.1 point

A postseason berth is phenomenal for the Reds, and would be for the White Sox, too. You should probably take pictures of these strings, then take notes on the Polaroids and keep them in your pocket, as we have to tell you the same thing over and over and over. 60 wins is a benchmark, it was my highest expectation for the season, and they met it. I don't know why I should think that's bad. You seem to think mocking simple facts cancels them out, but this is a rebuild. If you thought the organization Getz took over in August of 2023 was capable of posting a .500 record in 2024, and of making the playoffs this season, I can't fathom the level of delusional you occupy.1 point

I didn't have an argument, here. My argument is the "are we actually comparing [x] and [y]" is a nonsense deflection. Pretty much all baseball talk is about comparing players, teams and eras. I am surprise you would barrel in and shoehorn your same "I hate Chris Getz" BS into every single string. Maybe just pay attention to the discussion and participate in that? And seriously, when a team squeezes into the playoffs with 83 wins, there was nothing "tough" about their path.1 point

I want to see Caleb and Bears just earn it by continuing to improve and getting themselves to the point that they have earned the respect - period.1 point

One guy was out for a year and still on top. The other was out for over a decade and was not. It's fully about now, now the 1980s.1 point

My theory is this Aikman story has been driven so hard by a Chicago media/fanbase still raw from the Cubs NLDS loss. They were already complaining about the Brewers showing the L flag two days prior to Bears game. So when they watched MNF and Aikman was giving his opinion of CW it was just too soon. I’m speaking very generally here, but Sox fans should be very familiar with the “national disrespect” angle. We’ve been dealing with it for decades, even during the WS run. I’m not even arguing the merits of it, because now….. there’s no argument for the White Sox deserving 30 seconds of airtime. But for a Sox fan and a Bears fan to be upset? Were used to it, boys. Even winning a SB won’t change anything. If Aikman hates CW, he’ll still hate him afterward.1 point

Didn't see this until now. What I meant by that is the advanced offense metrics that have shown his scheme is working, guys are getting open. Caleb has been up and down in actually putting it all together, but we knew this would take time. At the end of the day, Johnson is the head coach of the offense. Dennis Allen is the head coach of the defense. So I'm judging Ben on the offense, as well as his in-game decision making. Which by his own admission, hasn't been perfect, but no coach is. I look at the Monday night game. Think the Bears got the ball back with like 3:20 left to go in the game. They not only got themselves in good field position to kick the field goal, but managed the drive perfectly to be able to call their final timeout with 3 seconds on the clock, giving Washington no chance to come back on the field. That's not easy to do, and we've been witness to it way too many times ourselves with coaches that don't have a feel for the game, get overwhelmed by the moment, and the last few minutes end up being a clusterfuck. For the first time in a long time, I just don't have any reservations about the coaching staff of the Bears. Feels like they are in good hands, which isn't always easy to find.1 point

Episode 4 is the best. Lots of very emotional moments & new insights. I see why they waited to release this episode until after the reunion weekend as it included sme of the festivities including the emotional toast to Bobby Jenks. I can't believe it only has 11K views on Youtube If you are over 25 and a White Sox fan its must see TV?!!1 point

I'm a day late on this, but yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the White Sox winning the AL pennant. It seems like only yesterday and seems like ancient history at the same time to me. https://www.mlb.com/video/white-sox-win-al-pennant-c19971067 I guess we're now half way to a third consecutive 40+ year pennant drought.0 points
