  1. White Sox signee RHP Franchel Crisostomo makes the list here

  2. Besides the fact that the Sox already have one bloated LF/DH salary in Benintendi for two more years that they don’t want, and another $20 million dollar salary in Robert that they have been looking to trade.

  3. Honestly? The Bregman deal is going to age horribly. They should have just manned up for Tucker after trading valuable assets for him.

  4. Respect the hell out of MJ for that stance.

  5. I don't follow the NBA so anything I say about basketball doesn't really have any substance behind it, but my wife and I went to a G-League game the other day (I know it's not the NBA but still...closest thing to it). It was boring as hell. Part of the issue is the penalties. They can't touch each other without getting called. You can only watch free throws for so long before you start wondering when the game is going to end...

  6. We don't need to be taking on salary right now, full stop. use any excess resources in the org to continue to build up the analytics and scouting teams in LA and Asia.

  10. There really are some anonymous shitbags on this website. Just a completely derailed thread full of utter nonsense.

  11. He was already in the process of being hit by the vehicle. He quite literally didn’t have a chance to move out of the path of the vehicle. He thought she had intent to kill him with her vehicle, which is why he fired at her. Her front windshield apparently had a bullet hole in it, proving she wasn’t already past him. Also, how do you even know it was her intent to flee the scene? Maybe she turns around and comes back for more? It’s not as cut and dried as you are trying to portray it. Regardless, the courts will settle this, but I doubt the guy sees any jail time. The videos tell the story.

  12. Targeted? You think the ICE agents somehow made that lady show up, obstruct their law enforcement activity and then proceed to hit one of them with her car. Thats ludicrous.

  13. The response was in relation to how nonsensical your response was. You claimed people who thought Kirk assassination was a bad thing have subsequently been celebrating assassinations. I pointed there hasn't been an assassination since Kirk, and you respond "exactly". Makes no sense, you see

  15. January 13, 1995 - Baseball’s executive council voted to allow replacement players in upcoming spring training and regular season games, given the ongoing labor impasse with the MLBPA. The more prominent individuals who briefly would become White Sox were shortstop Kent Anderson, outfielder Shawn Buchanan, starting pitcher Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd, outfielder Al Chambers, reliever John Davis, catcher Bill Lindsey, catcher Adalberto “Junior” Ortiz and third baseman Pete Rose Jr. This is the decision that would eventually drive aspiring Major Leaguer Michael Jordan from his baseball career as he was told he would have to participate in the replacement games. Jordan said he would never, under any circumstances, be known as a strike-breaker.

  16. Sure, if you believe those WARs. I’m not paying that kind of money for c. .730 OPS, and what must be elite 2nd base defense (if one believes those WARs). Realistically, I think Meidroth can be a Hoerner level player. I look forward to his 6 WAR.

  17. Cubs get their version of Derek Hill. Cubs claimed OF Justin Dean off waivers from the Giants. Dean served as a late-game defensive replacement for the World Series champion Dodgers last postseason before being claimed off waivers by the division-rival Giants in early November. The speedy 29-year-old center fielder makes a ton of sense as a bench outfielder for the Cubs since he’s capable of handling all three spots in a pinch.

  20. Probably not; of course, Senga is much better than Castellanos so this might be ambitious too. But I'd do it if the mets would. .

  21. I suggested a Mets deal of Robert for Senga, Acuña and Clifford/Ewing. I don't think Robert brings back that good a prospect at this point.

  22. Only if they just ate Nick's salary and cut him loose. We need to find ABs for Quero and Baldwin so we can see what they are. Adding a DH fucks that.

  23. I can't help but look at the fact the Sox and Luis Robert deals with Cincy seem to have a clear delineation. For a couple of million dollars, they could have let him walk. For $20 million they can have him for a full season. And if the Reds reporting is true, they can trade Robert and pay $10 million to get three pitching prospects with some rust (injuries, poor MLB performance, you know the Getz Special). The question then becomes, are the three pitching prospects worth $10 million to the Sox.

  25. At best they'd get a back end top 100 guy to take on like 20-30 million of salary. Not sure that's a great use of resources.

  26. This was the point of my post in the old hot stove string. Nobody's sending "prospects" to get a team to take on bad contracts. they sent money and even got a minor league arm back.

  27. Arenado has been on the decline since the 2022 season. Crazy that these old vets can still get acquired, even if their bloated salaries are mostly covered. He’s not going to improve in his age 35 season.

  31. I think the latest body cam footage from the agent definitely changes the perspective on things. The agent was an Iraq War veteran that earned the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal and the Iraq Campaign Medal. Ironically, last June, the same agent had been dragged by an illegal immigrant in his car for 50 yards and he required 33 stitches as a result. The illegal immigrant that dragged the agent had previously been arrested for domestic assault and convicted of sex crimes against an underage teenager.

  33. People are being murdered in our streets, targeted by a unaccountable, non-police force, you know the whole reason for the 2ndA in most discussions, and in this case, you can't rush fast enough to justify it. We have toppled governments for less. Like I said previously, exactly. This is exactly what what I expected.

  34. You mean when the lady went from obstructing law enforcement to trying to run a law enforcement officer over? Last I checked, its been well established that deadly force may be met with deadly force. Pretty easy to avoid being shot due to attempting to hit someone with a car by not attempting to hit someone with a car Certainly wouldn't be considered an assassination. Wouldn't she be a law abiding citizen either, such as was the case with Kirk

  37. Loveland was the most athletic TE I've ever seen at UM and we've had some good ones. He has unreal hands and fluidity for a guy that big. Some of the catches he made in big spots for UM were the definition of "game breaker". In the championship game against UW he caught a ball that I think even 90% of NFL TEs don't catch and he made about 40 yards out of it, got UM the momentum back. I believe it would have setup 3rd and long if he didn't catch it, instead it was a huge chunk play. He tried to play through a badly injured shoulder his junior year in a season that was over really before it began with Alex Orji and Davis Warren the QBs. He could have just shut up shop and gotten ready for the draft but he reinjured it instead and it cost him his first NFL training camp and lord knows how many weight room days leading up to the combine. He's a gamer on top of everything else and wants to play even when it might cost him personal stats if he can help the team anyway he can. Willing blocker and has a mean streak too. Other than maybe not being roided up like Brock he has no weaknesses. Create a player type guy.

  39. I was at the game and it was surreal. Not as good as world series but right there with Bulls championship games I was at. The Bulls were MJ as I don't really care about basketball as much but when they beat the Knicks it was awesome. The 4th quarter was surreal. I rewatched it yesterday and here are the things that stuck out. I totally forgot about the missed FG. Love is a system guy and they can move on easily from him. He was awful in the second half. Ben Johnson seemed to be having a very bad day until he had a really good day. The play design on the DJ Moore play will dissected for a while. I believe Wright was at TE with Theo at LT to set up the WR screen. It had been run 5 times previously as a screen. The Packers on their missed FG drive stopped the clock three times going OOB that's how the Bears had so much time. If the defense can get a bit more healthy this week and mother nature gets angry, who knows. Lafleur and Love fell apart in the 4th quarter. If I am the Packers, Harbaugh intrigues me.

  40. I was 100% wrong on him exceeding the option…no doubt about that. But at the end of the day, that wasn’t the bet my friend nor was it even the spirit of the bet. You thought Fairbanks was going to easily clear $20M because of some ridiculous Spotrac forecast and that did not happen. You also thought the Sox wouldn’t sign someone for more than $17.5M in total contract value and that did happen. Ultimately, we must hold one another accountable for our words & actions. A bet was agreed to and a ban must be issued accordingly now that the dust has settled. I respect your courage to actually put some skin in the game and look forward to future interactions come Opening Day. 圣诞快乐,新年快乐!

  41. Hate the rule changes but I think it’s fair to say baseball has experienced a resurgence under him. Whether or not he has anything to do with it, I’m not sure, but I have the feeling the MLB will inevitably usurp the NBA in popularity.
