  1. Oo. Nice attack. Get cornered and go for the person. What dies any of that have to do with many fans hating their owners I didn't stick with Hahn to the end. I believe I said multiple times that he deserved to be fire because his plan didn't work. I said at the beginning he gets about 4-5 years and if it doesn't work he should be gone. But enjoy the vengeful research.

  2. Might as well nickname him Deadline Dominguez.

  3. I’m very happy with the “state of the nation”. The Sox, not so much. But why would it be crazy for fans to say that the Sox could rebreak a record they literally just set a year earlier? It was the highest loss total in 125 years. I don’t think it was crazy to think the Sox could achieve any feat, no matter how awful. Getz was literally trying to tank. The Sox might get a phenom SS in a few months as a result.

  4. He did say when it comes to a successful winning team but that is the narrowest avenue to take but usually the only thing that matters to fans which is why you can't go to most fan forums without finding a lot of displeasure. That brass ring is the only thing that matters to most fans. JR has made investors, employees , White Sox Charities enjoy their time with him . Inner city youths also benefit through the RBI program which also stresses life goals much like good parents would and offers scholarships. So while there's a lot to dislike about JR as a fan he's not evil incarnate. Perspective beyond fandom keeps us more grounded.

  5. Unpopular opinion, and I know his defense something to be desired, but I prefer Sosa over Meidroth if it comes down to one has to go. Meidroth just screams Nick Madrigal to me.

  6. Sounds like Benintendi is going to be used a lot more in the DH slot to keep him healthy and hopefully improve his defense when he has to play LF. For Baldwin, I think people are way over-reacting to bad defense that is the result of being new to the position. Way too early to say he can’t get decent in OF with more reps.

  7. I feel they’d drop Alberto before Paez if it came down to that given where they were selected in the R5 and nothing has changed since then. We traded for Gilbert last offseason and he’s arguably our best LH reliever right now depending on what happens with Newcomb (which isn’t saying much, but makes him safer IMO). I really hope they don’t drop Bush & Berroa when they’re now approaching a year into their rehab process. Still think Ramos or Hudson are most likely.

  8. I know you can't see this because you blocked me but this more a reminder to what we have been witnessing. If you looked at the Sox and the mathematical chances of doing worse objectively you would have concluded, like many did, that it was close to impossible. In 2025 some of the highest ranked Sox rookies would be arriving, no one was ready in 2024. I don't honestly think Getz was ready either . A big job was ahead and he needed time to settle in and formulate what he could do and what he couldn't do. Budget restricted getting much 26 man roster help but likely didnt restrict hiring people he thought could be assets and help him restructure how things were done and promise new people they would have a voice. Maybe this was formulated by his time as Director of Player Development and Asst. GM if he didnt feel he had a voice or there wasn't enough information in the organization to operate as effectively as other teams did. Mathematically there were plenty here looking at the Pythagorean evidence that suggested the Sox had underachieved. Also if it took 125 years to be that bad , an even worse record the very next year seemed to have pretty long odds. Also you lose a lot of objectivity when you are embarassed, hurt and angry. Bookmakers orginally had the 2025 win total originally at 49.5 if I remember right and it gradually increased as many flocked to the over. In 2024 the Sox had a lot of bad players and a lot of bad luck. In 2025 with a new manager, new players and some processes in player development started to take shape. Meidroth and Teel arrived from the Crochet trade. Edgar Quero and other young hitters like Vargas and Sosa out of options and perhaps on their last chances with the Sox started to hit. We all make fun of the Vargas swing change now but it represented adevelopment that we weren't used to seeing and we were afraid to think it meant anything just as we were very resistant to coaches actually making a difference with Crochet .They identified Shane Smith from the Rule 5 draft. And later Mike Vasil. They used a new coach in a private environment and pulled a struggling Colson Montgomery out of game action and got his mind right and then after he was called up said our analytics show you might benefit from the torpedo bat . And fans who had called him a bust suddenly had to cling to the notion that it might not last and because their negative world was crumbling in the face of some pretty strong evidence in the development of young players in the new GM's vision of the modernized White Sox front office and behind the scenes analytics. All the luck was not good. Many pitching prospects were hit with injuries. Some hurt and frustrated fans started making up narratives that the pitching coaches were to blame. Yet Garrett Crochet who had previously also been injured came back with a vengeance and managed to somehow increase his workload tremendously when very few thought he could remain healthy and he also dominated hitters . He hit a rough patch at some point but more evidence turned up that the coaches helped him with his cutter and sinker and he was challenged to be more efficient and worked with him on eliminating "cross-firing" tendencies so that he could improve command by tunneling his slider and fastball from the same arm slot. If there are fans unwilling to trust the new regime because JR is still the boss that's understandable but there's no need to belittle the people doing their best, in restrictive circumstances to give you something to cheer for eventually. It doesn't mean I'm an empty headed cheerleader falling for White Sox propaganda. There's been actual scouting and development evidence all over the place plus the opportunistic signing of an actual Japanese superstar. Im not expecting miracles and perhaps its for the best that Getz's on the job training was done with a tight budget so he couldnt make any major mistakes while he learned. But even the most experienced GMs make decisions that don't pan out. Who knows, maybe in a few years the Sox might actually develop a Dominican Republic International signee. That has never happened while JR's been here when DR stars were all over baseball for his whole tenure. Now a New Sox Academy in the DR is being build and maybe the Sox will field 2 teams eventually to give those players a chance to develop like other organizations do.

  9. Bryan Hudson is still on the 40 man. He should be the first to go. Get a somewhat legit SP with the rest of the money. Hope Kelenic figures something out and put him in LF, Acuna in CF, Pereira/Brooksie in RF with Beni at DH. Trade Sosa for a prospect not on the 40 man.

  10. Iriarte has lost a ton of status the past two years as his stuff has gone backwards. I’m not yet fully convinced someone would put a claim in on him at this point.

  17. Hill is an option…should have probably included him. However, I think they’d hold off doing that until they add another OF to the mix or more likely towards the end of camp. I agree that split contract likely allows you to get him through waivers. I definitely think Lee eventually gets traded, but doubt that would be soon enough to accommodate the Dominguez signing. Same applies for Mead (or Sosa) given their lack options but don’t see that being imminent. Both Peters & Romo feel like purposeful AAA depth that will be leveraged in the event of injuries. Gilbert did well enough last year to enter camp as a favorite for a OD bullpen spot (the lack of options help his cause too). Eisert isn’t overly exciting but has options, so would expect him to survive until some of the other 40 man roster challenges have been worked through. To me, Ramos is getting DFAed or traded at some point before OD, so for him it’s more about the right time to try and sneak him through waivers. I could see that time being now, especially if there are a couple more moves coming.

  19. Im shocked that this is your opinion. Go to Pittsburgh and Colorado and others they'll say the same thing about their owners. How about Oakland where the owner moved the team without having another home. You dont have the exclusive hate for the owner of your team.

  20. They have made sweeping changes in player development. You can hate Getz because he was hired but you cant honestly say he hasn't made changes and poured resources into player development.

  21. The infield to start the season is going to be Murakami at 1B, Meidroth at 2B, Colson at SS, & Vargas at 3B. With Baldwin & Acuna both capable infielders, I don’t think we carry more than one of Sosa or Mead. If Chase or Miguel falters, then the backup infielder or even Baldwin could push for one of their roles. At some point and potentially fairly early into the season, I fully expect Antonacci to put the heat on both of those guys. Outside of trading one of Sosa or Mead before the season, I’d go in with what we have and see who establishes themselves.

  22. One thing to add is Periera doesn’t chase a ton…he was squarely around league average last year in AAA and above average in the majors. His K issues have been more driven by poor in zone contact and I truly believe that’s far more addressable (within reason) than teaching someone at this stage of their career to radically improve their swing decisions. Given his double plus bat speed, there are likely some approach changes that can be implemented situationally to improve his contact rates with only minor sacrifices to his power output. It’s still a risky profile but one I am eager see first hand this spring.

  23. In about 3 weeks, the 60-day IL opens up. There's really no need to start cutting guys, especially the Rule 5 dudes. They'd at least want to get a live look at them before waving goodbye. Hudson wasn't exactly lights out in his 2025 cup of coffee, and Ramos took 3 cycles through the option list and still hasn't established himself at AAA. The Sox also got a long look at Mead last year. I threw out Iriarte. Those are 4 guys who could go if they don't trade somebody this week, and if they don't wait until spring training to use the 60-day. I'd also think they'd want to hang onto Lee deeper into camp. They're going to need catchers, and the World baseball tournament's going to create a bunch of playing time. They'll need bodies. Maybe a trade of Sosa or Cannon is brewing.

  26. Good catch! The MLB article announcing the update still linked to the 2025 list for some reason instead of the preseason 2026 one. 36. Braden Montgomery (BA #73) 49. Noah Schultz (BA #26) 61. Caleb Bonemer (BA #27) 72. Hagen Smith (BA #91) 73. Billy Carlson (BA #92) A little less deviation then

  32. I wouldn't DFA Iriarte just yet. Still very young at 24, and has an option left. Last year was his first year out the pen - I'd give him a little longer leash and see if they can't reign his control back in. I wonder if the Sox are trying to move someone in a trade to free up a spot.

  33. A $5 mill outfielder would just be a blocker and make things worse. Don’t have enough to get a good player, so they are entering “spending just to spend” territory.

  35. Honestly thought the limits were still tiny for these so I dont really count them (last I checked they were $50 for me) but I looked now and I see a 7k+ limit so line is pretty reasonable at this point. Sox have second lowest projected win total ahead of only the Rockies so me calling them the 3rd worst team was actually complimentary. Of all win projections released, sportbook o/u are by far the most predictive. Eddy doesnt appear to understand market dynamics.

  36. So who do we think gets the boot from the 40 man roster as a result of this signing? Here is the list of options from most likely to least likely IMO: Bryan Ramos, IF Bryan Hudson, LHP Jairo Iriarte, RHP Alexander Alberto, RHP I don’t see anyone else really in the mix. And candidly speaking, I think it will be one of those first three guys. Gun to head though I would have to say Ramos.

  40. MLB Pipeline update is out, pretty different from BA's in both ordering and positioning. 36. Braden Montgomery (BA #73) 40. Noah Schultz (BA #26) 71. Billy Carlson (BA #92) 73. Caleb Bonemer (BA #27) 88. Hagen Smith (BA #91) So no top 30 overalls in Pipeline but 2 in BA. No 90+ guys in Pipeline, but 3 in BA (counting McDougal, who didn't make the Pipeline list). Pipeline has Sox tied for 9th in "prospect points" (100 for rank 1, 99 for rank 2, etc.)

  41. Arte Moreno had 2 HOFers on his team and couldn't win. He had players ODing on drugs supplied by personnel in the front office. JR is bad. He's not "the worst".

  42. Guess you should be Commisioner then and Run the players union too and all will be well. I dont think theres enough gazillionaires out there to have 30 teams all throwing money around like it's confetti. There is only a few franchises that are appealing because they do that. The rest have to find a balance between profit and winning. Every owner has the right to run their franchise the way they see fit in accordance with the CBA.

  43. I liked Robert and really wanted him to be good here. Your third point says that is his floor. May I point out that in six seasons, Luis won one gold glove, hit over 20 homers once, played over 120 games once and never stole 40 bases. I actually hope he does at least that for the Mets this year but he didn't here.

  44. Over the last two seasons you have probably posted over 50 times how they blew a game with a lead in the 7th inning or later. This should improve that number substantially. Last year they had 24 of them. Cutting that even in half would make them a much more enjoyable product.

  46. Really good Elijah Evans interview with new W-S hitting coach Adam Sinkoe just dropped. Sinkoe is super impressed with Jaden Fauske. He's another guy who could be a Top 100 guy if he breaks out in Kanny. Sinkoe also has nice things to say about the work Wolkow has done in the offseason. Worth a listen.
