  1. Whenever you want, preferably in another thread so that the rest of us don't have to read it in one designed to talk about next month's draft.

  3. Madrigal homer!

  4. The bigger takeaway from tampa, as ever, is getting that direct comparison in an organization that commits to player development and squeezing value out of every asset, and the white sox.

  6. Yea, I’ll take Robert over Rodgers. Better defender, similar power/hit tool, and better speed.

  7. If Cordell pops that up it is a double play. If he misses it Sanchez is out at home, or in a run down. 1 out, 1st and 3rd, your chances of scoring are much higher letting the batter swing away (Cordell had been killing the ball all game too if you want to make a situational argument). Just because a call works or is dramatic and fun does not mean it was a good call. That said, it was absolutely dramatic and fun, so we may as well go lock up the W now.

  8. Just want to point out I was right when I said Madrigal would have a homer before June.

  11. I'd way rather just sink or swim with Lambert or Flores. These guys are both 24 years old, so not super young. Lets see what we got.

  12. Oh man, are we really about to move to Josh Phegley, who averages 40 games played per year over the past 6 years, as the next thing to incessantly complain about? With the way this board acts, you'd have no idea that Anderson and Moncada are OPSing .860+, Giolito is looking like an ace, Eloy is back in the coming days, Robert is doing well in AA, etc.

  15. Rooting for Walker, but still, strange choices to me. Alek Thomas is doing really well in A ball, also with great BB:K numbers. Signed for 900k less. Instead of pilkington could have gone after one of the many high school arms in round 3 with 1.5 million. Just not a fan of the draft strategy recently. Milwaukees was beautiful.

  16. Yeah when he is good he is really good , multiple hits, extra base hits, and stolen bases.

  17. Disagree. It worked thus it's a GREAT call. It's about results! It worked. Ricky take a bow. A-plus move there.

  20. We'll add this to a potential L that Renteria's managing has cost us if the Sox lose this one.

  25. I agree that tanking should be behind us. There are available people right now who would help us be competitive while giving up nothing.

  26. Say it is only for a month and a half so far, but still, I believe 100% that if we had Avi now instead of paying the same money to Alonso, the Sox would be over .500 right now. Now you can say that it doesn't matter because it's early in the season or this is still part of the rebuild years, so wins don't matter. But you know what, call me crazy, but I like it when the White Sox win games. I want the White Sox to win more games than they lose. I know, many people on here keep saying that rignt now wins don't matter. I know, I know. It's crazy that I want the Sox to win more games than they lose. Even if, so far, only a month and a half, having Avi in RF with his .877 OPS (Only McCann has a better one on the Sox right now) and having his bat (instead of watching Yonder ground out time after time into the shift) would give the Sox two more wins this year, over .500. I know it's only two more or so wins, but that's two time I'm not pissed off and two more times instead of anger, I am happy. Call me crazy, but that appeals to me.

  31. Everything you posted is correct, and true. However, what has bothered me about this stupid move was that those mouth-breathing morons in the front office thought: 1. The shitty 2016 roster that they dropped on us, AND 2. the shitty, moronic manager who never wanted to be here, and wasn't even a HEAD coach in HS, 3. Collectively had a snowball's chance in hell of competing. In other words, KW/RH/JR are all collectively too stupid to tell the difference between a GOOD team, and a poor one. So set aside that anyone with a 3-digit IQ and working eyes could have seen that Shields was one of the suckiest sucks that ever sucked. Set aside that Shields could have/SHOULD have been gotten for mere money/salary relief/NO prospect equity. The people still running this org are simply too dumb to do their jobs. They were dumb in 2016, and I see little to suggest that they've gotten smarter since then. FFS, the squandering of resources on turds like Jay and Alonzo and others, and then whining about the price tag for Machado reinforces the idea that they don't know a good player from a poor one. THAT'S what truly hurts about this idiotic, moronic, and dumb trade. RH/KW/JR ALL deserve a verbal beating for being fucking morons. And yes, Tatis' likely ascension to stardom will be the constant reminder that we have imbeciles running this team [into the ground].

  32. Was. One of the things about copy/pasting the career numbers into your expectations for a player in their age 34 year after a steep second half decline is a) those players get injured and b) they tend to start declining.

  34. His 2017 season was pretty good although his k to walk struggled then and struggles now. With Eloy, Tilson, and Robert, there isn't much room for him in the way future although it would have been nice to have him this season. But ya never know if he puts up 2017 numbers every year, then he may have been worth keeping for the long hall. It is what it is.

  37. So you bunt the runners over, and now you’ve taken the bat out of the hands of your hottest hitter who will surely be walked to set up another double play situation
