  1. Please define wokester for me.
  2. It’s an antiquated and derogatory phrase. Find a different way to get your point across. It’s not that hard.
  3. Seems that way, but I think they have a more stable young core than the Sox did so their window *should* be open longer than the Sox window was. But if they don’t invest in pitching, it’s probably all moot.
  4. IMO guys hitting dingers in street clothes would be even better.
  5. Also, the players do seem to care about the WBC, so putting that in the middle of the season where they all need a bit of a mental and physical break would be terrible.
  6. Pretty good derby aside from the Pat McAfee appearance
  7. Wrong thread dummy
  8. Yeah good call. I’m obligated to dislike all things Twins, but as a baseball fan I’m happy to see Buxton healthy and mashing.
  9. I think Cruz and Caminero are gonna steal the show.
  10. There’s really no reason to decide what Vargas is until after the season. Let him play out the rest of the season and if he mostly struggles, yeah, he probably ain’t it. That’s a lot of at bats to go off of at that point. But the Sox are in a position to let him work through things and see if he can make more adjustments.
  11. Honestly I’d much rather see him at a superstar level on another team rather than continuing to struggle. No bitterness or pain. The incompetence of this franchise has made me numb enough to all that where I’d just rather root for a player to succeed.
  12. Lol isn’t that the definition of personal?
  13. Where is the dunk?
  14. Yeah I don’t know. I fully expect them to be running out bullpen games in the playoffs.
  15. They’re measuring it differently, but that’s only part of it, because velocity has been increasing steadily for years. Clearly a larger part of it is advanced strength, conditioning and training, with an emphasis on velocity. Athletes are stronger today. I don’t think any of this is much of a mystery.
  16. The game is ruined?

That’s the thing though. His style of being excited and positive all the time is better suited for a winning team. Bringing that style to a bad team with a jaded fanbase is not the best fit.
  18. Retractable roof stadiums too often feel like fully enclosed domes. I really like how Miller Park/American Family Field has the windows in both left and right field. It really opens it up.
  19. I get it, but that makes me worry that there will now be threats to him and his family. Just perpetuating repulsive behavior.
  20. Who was the last home grown hitting prospect that turned into a decent major leaguer? TA?
  21. This sounds like something from a Jay Leno tonight show monologue
  22. IMO they should simply build around guys who get on base, make good swing decisions, have speed, have power, play great defense, and have impeccable baseball IQ, coachability and work ethic. Not really sure what they’re waiting for.
