  1. Well, Matt Thornton. Who wasn’t a disaster before he got here. Just that the Sox shined him up and he became a gem. They have tried to do this countless times, I don’t know if they thought they had the Midas touch. They don’t, and it hasn’t occurred to them they don’t.
  2. The Sox once upon a time like 18 years ago signed a lefty reliever with a great arm, but couldn’t get anyone out. They transformed him into a good player, so ever since then they decided to become the patron saint of guys that can throw a brick through a battleship, but can’t hit the catcher’s mitt.
  3. Maybe not a massive upside, the Alexei Ramirez feeling. Which is fine. Although this kid has a little more power potential depending on what you read.
  4. Well, it was a good direction they took with the pick anyway. Lacks speed as an infielder. I still have recurring Wes Kath nightmares. But this kid won’t be him at third. He should take over when the Moncada mistake is passed.
  5. He wants unconditional love. And there are those people out there that fall in love with players and don’t care to look critically. But again, most fans love the laundry, the names come and go. Tim Anderson misunderstands sports fans.
  6. Just hire the AI. What’s the worst that can happen.
  7. Wow. When I proposed this earlier this year I was shot down like a clay pigeon. Not a good idea! Too young! Unwise! Get a clue kid!
  8. The get better part, never gonna happen
  9. I would say this is the most White Sox thing ever, but that statement covers a lot of ground actually
  10. Too bad gotta bench him to get his attention to focus
  11. He has his issues. But he is justified. Anyway blowing off steam is likely what happened. Allegedly he wanted an extension. For that, he is crazy.
  12. You’re rating him at the draft to be at a high all star MLB level, and that’s fine. College slugger first base/DH /catcher is the Sox fav thing to do, and has worked out very well for us. Hopefully the appropriate amount of sarcasm is coming through.
  13. I commend you for facing reality very quickly. Some pollyannas will think this talent is a mental disease that will lead to substance abuse, health problems or self harm. And the pollyannas will live longer healthier lives in a state of blissful denial. But I still commend you.
  14. Of course. First base. Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
  15. Is that a gender confusion symbol?
  16. I’m less worried about new injury, than old long Covid relapses.
  17. Hey, they never gave us an opportunity to develop a healthy prospects skepticism before. Gave us a bunch if new toys all at once we hadn’t seen the likes of since Big Frank, and we assumed. We’re catching up. Colas had us mildly interested. If the Sox had any new ones to show us we should be ready to ? on them when the time comes ?
  18. Which is absurd that they will absolutely be running the show. Jerry doesn’t like being told what to do. Especially by fans and sportswriters. If you truly wanted him to sell, you’d tell him not to sell. Start a campaign to extend Rick Hahn’s and Kenny Williams’ contracts
  19. The reasons I returned to the Sox was the attractiveness with a turnaround toward youth, and an emphasis on building with minor league prospects. They sort of artificially infused the talent into the organization. Nonetheless, I expected some organic growth in a traditional sense along these lines. But they just petered out. And the artificially infused talent is busting like crazy. We should be the Rays.
