  1. Jimmy doesn't like giving up runs, Jimmy likes getting outs.
  2. On opening day I made some hopeful post about last year being the darkness before the dawn, sorry bros.
  3. Remember when this clown on the mound thought he was worth $175M
  4. I'm with you, I was certainly over-reacting to Kopech's bad day, but I do agree he may be better suited for the pen long term which may help keep the velo up. If he can start commanding the change up or learn a cutter or something to keep lefties off balance especially, he should be a very serviceable starter.
  5. I was one to quickly claim Kopech's career is over. My sense with Kopech is that he as no idea how to approach a hitter. His FB was so dominant his entire life he's never had to learn. Now his FB is pedestrian, his breaking ball command suspect, and change up command still a work in progress. Now he's trying to learn how to pitch at the big league level and I don't suspect it will go very well. Lance on the other hand is just fat and old.
  6. Looks like tubbs tweaked his knee again.
  7. The word was Duvall wanted no part of a platoon. Edit - I see this has been covered
  8. love it, so jaded I assumed he was dogging it
  9. In a similar situation and seeing all these "good hustle Benny!" posts and assuming they are sarcasm, did he actually hustle?
  10. Trying to look on the bright side myself, Burger provided a little offensive spark last year and had a nice spring. Between him and Sheets the DH drop off should be minimal. Just brutal that it's basically now confirmed we'll never see the full potential of a healthy Eloy.
  11. I've wondered the same, however Juan Soto essentially does the same thing from the left side and he seems to be fine.
  12. Haha I mean after his spring I'm not so sure it is, he's brutal.
  13. Difficult to understate what a bad day this was for Kopech, a potential career ender.
  14. Giants broadcast showing Vaughn yelling at himself running down the line, seemed like DeSclafani took offense for some reason.
  15. My first thought was was he mad he had to field a ball on a wet field? Obviously not intentional in that situation, Tony.
  16. I do take grammar pretty seriously, so thanks for noticing. Another Bay Area Sox fan?!?! I thought I was the only one, hit me up if you ever want to catch a game or something, I'm in Walnut Creek.
  17. Well gents here we are, we made it, another Opening Day. Hope springs eternal and I sure hope last year was the darkness before the dawn, there is nowhere to go but up. I hope the offseason has treated you all well and we have more celebrating than complaining in 2023 on Soxtalk, Nothing left to do but sit back, relax and strap it down for another season of White Sox Baseball. Let's get to work!
  18. Just watched the replay again like 9 times, I'm not sure Yoan ever made contact with the LF. Probably looking for an extended ST excuse to stay in warmer weather.
  19. RIP Dave and condolences to the Wills family, always loved listening to Dave, and his big "White Sox Baseball...........NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXT" lead in on the radio would always fire me up.
  20. So Tim wants fans to be more positive, yet he flicks them off any chance he gets. You can't have it both ways, I've been vocal about this guy being a loser for a while on here now, this seals the deal, get him gone ASAP.
  21. CT scans in court documents proved the cracked skull claim to be false.
  22. It actually drives me insane that people think the singular form of White Sox is "White Sox." You'd never say "this guy is a Chicago Cubs." You'd shorten it and say Cub. Sox is plural, you can't have it and use it both ways, "Sock" is correct in my humble opinion.
  23. Really? Their pitching is still suspect, but as far as position players go I think I would only take Vaughn, Eloy (DH) and Robert over their northside counterpart. Cubs are in the discussion for best middle infield defense post shift ban.
  24. His OBP woulda been good for 2nd on the squad last year, solid add for a reasonable deal.
