I agree. It seems like so many corporations are given handouts, either directly or indirectly. Folks look at Tesla and their success, but buyers were given $5000 in tax breaks to buy an EV. That relieved pricing pressure. I wonder if Tesla would have been as profitable without those. Business are given incentives to locate in certain towns. It's crazy how much corporations take and not always give. I get it's a competition. The team has some value to the region it is located and the region has value to the club. If the team is worth more to Charlotte or Nashville and if one of those is worth more to the team. I guess it's time to leave. Enjoy your new fans and ballpark. We are taught to believe in capitalism and free markets as the American way. I guess this just stresses that belief.

As an out of town Sox fan I love the idea that they would have a nice new stadium without expense. It's great for the team. I pay very little Illinois tax.

Thank you. I did use the wrong term. It sure felt like it.

That's my take as well. Plus I'm guessing there is getting released, and then there is getting released by one of the worst teams in baseball who desperately could use a marque everyday player. Perhaps GMs are understanding the team is rebuilding, etc. or they are suspicious. That difference could be worth millions. He may be desperate, but not looking to Japan desperate.

Perhaps lost in this is SS was going to be a rock solid position for us. If they had given him a Wander Franco type deal a year ago or two ago hardly anyone (other than the usual nay sayers) would have been happy. It sucks for him, his family, the team, and with just a hint of hyperbole, baseball. The left side of the infield looked so damn good just a couple years ago.

Sometimes you just got to let your mouthy coworker fend for themselves. And as I remember the fight they did come out.

I'm thinking NYE 2030 we start the thread. My expectations are so low this off season that next season can't be a failure.
-
Lol. I never get tired of you ripping on JR.
-
Clearly we have the better training staff to keep guys healthy lol
-
We won't remember these guys a year or two from now.

It's the agent's job to find their players places to play. Getz has to open his email and every small time agent is making offers.
-
Yep. They're all the same. I wonder if each of these guys are saying "Finally the situation I've been looking for. My career is saved!" Or "I'm fucked, the only team that I can play for is the White Sox. I'm going to go teach PE and coach a high school team."

I'm thinking he's the opening day starter. If anything we can get this thread to 300 pages. I wish Philly was interested, having their fans flocking here would be as fun as a colonoscopy.

I thought the Angels would have him signed by now. The Rays seem like a good fit but maybe the off the field stuff will cause them to pass. He's only 30, I can't believe he hasn't signed yet.

Booing Krause? Sad moment.

They seem to have few choices. Which is bad for a great organization but perfect for these guys. Less of a chance to fail spectacularly. Fields can be saved and I believe a pro bowl level player -- for another team.

Well my wife and I decided to take our RV out since we had reservations at a state park. We've had it in freezing temps before without problem. Of course this time a water line possible froze. There is a slim chance we are just out of water. Yesterday we met a couple that was getting south as far as they could. They are full-time RVers and chase 70° all year.

I was a very hands off, I'll let you know if there is something wrong, manager. Most of the branch managers I worked with appreciated that. One in particular was extremely unhappy that I didn't provide enough feedback and "support". They wanted constant feedback. I was a very bad manager for them. They interpreted the lack of attention as I didn't like them. It wasn't until they confided in a manager they thought I liked that we had an opportunity to resolve the issue. I couldn't be the micro manager they were accustomed to, but I could meet them part way. It took communication and trust for that to happen.

I always believed the first and last weeks were the most important. I actually returned to a company I left. Never burn bridges, it just isn't worth it. I left one company and the owner asked me to stay a month to ease the transition. The company I was going to agreed. What I remember the most was the new company stating my sense of responsibility and personalism is exactly what why they were hiring me. But I would prioritize researching at home your next move. Getting the new job while having a job is easier. Does the person giving you a hard time have a financial gain if you don't make it until your bonus?

Any vacation time you can take? Even if it's a staycation, you can avoid being in the office. Do you have another job lined up?
-
Dissociate quickly each day. Focus on what is making you happy each day. Even when you have a job you love there are periods when it isn't great. For me September is hell then it gets really great then February and March get tough again. Once I realized that, I could cope with the bad stretches. Good luck.

Thank you. I have a MA in reading s%*# and totally misread the post. Lol I took it to mean a mid season trade for less than the blockbuster were hoping for.

The real King of getting jumped on enters room. And don't tell have vapes up north? Smoking? That's like from the I don't care about stats I just want to see the guy era.

Are you predicting light return based on your projection of how he'll look, or the front office not get fair market value, or a combination of both?
