If the Chicago White Sox won a game and no one made a thread
witesoxfan replied to Balta1701's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 12:46 AM) Not intimidating at all. Really believe we can take 2 of 3 against that hot Minnesota team. The last time the White Sox took 2 of 3 from Minnesota was May 19-21, 2009. They won the first two games 6-2 and 7-4. They lost the final game 20-1. -
LeBron looked like he was about to crack during the press conference. Really happy for Nowitzki, Kidd, and Carlisle.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) Twins have won 8 of 10, are about to throw a no hitter, will be 9 back after today and face their annual spring board in their next series. f*** them
-
Yeah contraction is dumb. If anything, expansion would be a more likely plausibility. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE SOMEONE WILL PICK UP PEAVY
-
Liriano lost the perfect game. Still has a no hitter. I don't think he should, but the Twins official scorer ruled Luke Hughes made an error. I think it should have been a hit.
-
QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) What about Viciedo? He can play 2B.
-
Whaaaat?

Was Hellmuth's 11th in Hold Em or not? I know his first 10 were and I seem to remember him making a commitment a few years back to try quite a bit harder on the other games.

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) Alexei is a double play machine when he isnt getting hits... He's also a double play machine when he's wearing a glove, so really, it all evens out

Brent Lillibridge increased his bat control, resulting in more contact! Brent Lillibridge has gained more power! Brent Lillibridge has improved his plate discipline! Brent Lillibridge positions himself better, his range in LF increases ... Brent Lillibridge positions himself better, his range in CF increases ... Brent Lillibridge positions himself better, his range in RF increases ... Juan Pierre seems to have lost some bat speed, resulting in less contact ... Juan Pierre has lost some power to the gaps ... Juan Pierre has lost a step, his speed drops ... Juan Pierre lost some momentum, his steal ability drops ... and yet, Ozzie has still not checked his player developmental report. THAT'S THE FIRST THING I CHECK!

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 01:17 PM) Is Pierre's contract due this offseason? Looks like the dude has lost a few steps on the bases. With his atrocious bat and mediocre speed, I rather have a platoon of Lillibridge and Tyler Kuhn at LF next season. No Tyler Kuhn. Just Brent Lillibridge.
-
Lillibridge is right handed, and came up as a shortstop, and plays a killer outfield, and played 2B last year, and is a motherf***ing pimp. He can only do 3 of those things at the same time. OZZIE, YOU f***ING CHOOSE

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:03 AM) Serious question: Why do people think this is such a ridiculous scenario? Does anybody here have some insight on how MLB teams conduct their scouting? I do not have any insight. Baseball changes quickly. Scouting 2 months in advance does you as much good as trying to find a deposit of solid nitrogen - you can find the solution, but it's up in smoke just like that

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) This despite the fact that Fathom pointed out we won after the loss to the Rays and after the loss to the Dodgers. This team has actually bounced back well all year long. The only time they didn't was the first A's blown save and that's when they went on to lose like 40 of their next 41.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) So who gets traded at 1b? Kila or Butler? Kila
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 11:24 PM) While tonight's game sucked a**, at least PK is flat out raking. If somehow this teams pulls their collective head out of their a** and makes a run at the division title, PK could be an MVP candidate. I usually disagree with Hawk, but he's right on when he says that even though he's in his late 30's, Konerko is just starting to completely figure it out at the plate. He can easily play 3-4 more years after this one. I think Quentin is going to be the MVP candidate from the White Sox. Either way, I think Bautista is going to end up winning it.

If Juan Pierre is signed tmrw to an extension, what would you do?
witesoxfan replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would probably punch myself sterile. Nobody I produce needs to know the name Juan Pierre. -
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:39 AM) Well, the article also compared him to Carlos Beltran... so there's THAT... lol I could compare J4L to Carlos Beltran too. He's almost certainly somewhat athletic, since he's black; considering the depth to which he follows White Sox baseball (and baseball alone), I'm sure he's played the game and is better than the average person; I'm sure he's hit a ball 350 feet in the air (hell, I've hit a couple), so he's got power; I bet he runs pretty quickly too. Did I cover enough of the comparisons, or is our very own J4L a legitimate White Sox prospect too? On second thought, don't answer that.
-
Or he swung real hard and his bat hit a ball. That is a scenario I can guarantee to 100% certainty. Hopefully he has his timing back. Even as the creator of this thread, I won't believe it until I see that he hit a legitimate fastball.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:24 AM) So we've beaten Pineda, Felix and Cahill in 3 of our last 4 games. That's pretty impressive. I have no idea who this guy is they're running out there Friday night. But let's just pummel him for the hell of it and take names later. One of these things is not like the other. It's more than "he doesn't pitch for the Mariners." I don't dare call Cahill hot garbage...dude is a legitmate #2...but he is absolutely prone to nights like this. Don't care of names for future starters. If the Sox lineup is going, they can get a few runs off of anyone. "OMG SMALL BALL" (if Gio is pitching, there's no need for Dunn, because he is a guaranteed 0-3 with a walk. DH Rios and start Lillibridge in CF)

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) That bias was only about 10% of what it is now before the last two months. 25 or so games at the leadoff spot batting sub .200 is unforgivable. The Barons really started rolling once Kuhn was moved there. KW Jr. may have had speed in the past, but it's gone now. I know he missed half of last season with two separate DL stints. I'm certain one was leg injury. I'm not doubting the speed thing, but at this point, it's mostly that I think Williams is hiding something. I get that he's not a good player, but I think he's talented enough to hit better than .207 or whatever he is hitting. The fact that he is now slow as compared to fast only accentuates that thought. Certain injuries will take some speed away from you, but I really can't think of anything that will turn you from fast to slow that quickly.
-
Well would you look at that!

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:38 AM) He probably met a woman...

I thought the A's were going to be really good this year. I was not alone.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) No, I've never owned a cat (I'm a guy ). I've known plenty of people who have/had cats, and I hate them. Sure, they're nice to you when they want you to pet them or they're hungry, but once they're tired of that they'll nip your hand so you leave them alone. I'm sticking with my "f*** cats" comment. Yes, they are nice to you when they want you to pet them or when they're hungry. I have never had a catch that has nipped my hand when it was simply tired though - I would have to do something to irritate them. I also imagine women feel the same way about men. They feel that men are nice to them when they want to be massaged or have sex, but otherwise they are just going to nip them in the hand.
