Quin
Inspired by @bmags #BurgerBoys campaign and my desire for #MickerMania, I figure we could all get behind (or weep tears upon) a discussion about who could be the White Sox rookie that will save the season. These arbitrary 10 names were picked using MLB Pipeline's projected arrival timeline (always 100% accurate) + Yolbert Sanchez and Carlos Perez, because lord knows second base and backup catcher are going to have the opportunities available and cause I said so. You may obviously suggest someone else. Gavin Sheets missed the cutoff by 29 at-bats, for those keeping score at home.
Quin
Anyway, despite my Adolfo love, I voted Romy because TLR loves him some god damn positional versatility. Lower strikeout rate than Micker, but only one less homer in 2021. Adolfo's options put him in a precarious position.
Buehrle>Wood
Micker
Squirmin' for Yermin
Easy vote... Romy
maxjusttyped
I think Romy will be too, but Burger is the only guy listed I feel confident will be better than replacement level
southsider2k5
I think it will be a pitcher. No idea who, but someone like an Anderson Severino, Emilio Vargas, and Cade McClure are all only a stop away from Chicago.

gogosox1959
Has to be a pitcher. I have to question if Romy is on the roster. I believed that it would be between him and Mendick making the team. Then I read Merkin somewhere reporting that Mendick has been working out every day at catcher so that he would be the emergency #3 catcher. I think Vargas is mildly interesting, he might be the best starter that won't break with the big league team, but this is a bleak list of names
Bob Sacamano
I went Yolbert but I guess I should have picked Romy. Just feel like the need for a 2B will rise (Garcia injured or playing more OF, Harrison injury or sucks, etc).
SoxAce
I'm hoping Yolbert saves us at 2B. He's no uber prospect but I think he can be serviceable and at least he has youth going for him and some upside.

Guy hit like 20+ HRs last year in Birmingham and plays all over field. Honestly not even sure if Sanchez is better than him at defense
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
I voted Cespedes just for fun but realistically I'd say Sousa, Romy, Burger have the 3 best chances. I'd love it to be Adolfo but even if he makes the 28 once it goes back to 26 he's probably gone.
Chicago White Sox
Guys, if we need a minor league reliever to “save our season”, then something has gone terribly wrong with the $50M bullpen. I think Romy is probably the best answer, followed by Burger & Lambert.

If Kimbrel ever gets the boot and Sousa gets a chance he could vault himself ahead of Ruiz. If you look at Ruiz on the surface he did a credible job but in late inning situations was not a good option. Sousa has a nice slider and spots his fastball pretty well. Oh I don’t like Ruiz at all and don’t expect him to survive the season with the Sox, but just expect Romy or Lambert to provide a bigger impact given the lack of talent or depth ahead of them. Well I voted Cespedes just for kicks and I agree Romy is one of the best candidates. Unless he is traded I can see the bullpen being a sore spot if Kimbrel is on the team and can't handle any other inning but the 9th. Then there is Kelly who I vote as most likely to spend a lot of time injured. Then that might translate into Crochet not getting stretched out. However if the Crochet plan is still in effect he'll be pitching middle innings and Sousa is the guy who most resembles Crochet. I'm probably putting way too much stock into how he's done in his 3 appearances this spring but damn he's looked impressive . He might become a go to option when facing innings with 2 lefties coming up.

Yeah, the "save the season" line is a bit tongue in cheek. Maybe Sousa gets it by having Codi Heuer's 2020, but over a full season. Even with the loaded up bullpen, that would get you some White Sox ROY votes.

Tnetennba
Give me the fantastical scenario where Micker breaks with the big club, goes on a Yermin-like tear to start, doesn’t get thrown under the bus by his manager, and magically keeps his K% respectable enough to play RF regularly and launch 30 bombs. Part of what makes this fun. - Burger gets the big lead if he either magically forces Yoan back to second, learns to play a passable second himself, or something else funky happens. - Micker can get it if Leury starts the season at SS and due to Vaughn's injury, they roll with Adolfo in right for a few games and he goes full April Yermin. - I laid out the Romy case above. - Lord knows we'd all love a competent backup catcher, which is the case for Perez. Realistically the only 2 from the list that has a chance to be on the 28 are Sousa and Adolfo and Adolfo's spot is precariously with being out of options, Haseley trade and Vaughn coming back probably some time in April. Sousa makes it if he doesn't implode and has an even better chance if Kimbrel is traded before the start of the season. Kopech still isn't ready and Kelly is hurt. Freeman was sent down already.
