An updated farm system ranking from July 14 from Bleacher Report. I realize there are many baseball sites that put out rankings and of course it's very subjective. However this at least puts into some perspective the state of the White Sox future talent or lack of.

You know it's a bunk list when they have Jacob Gonzalez at two and Schultz still at four.

Still....we probably aren't too far beyond #29 even if they are off on the ranking.

It's a joke either way in terms of prospect development.

Bottom 5-7 farm system for sure but it's not that bad when you look at it. We've seen some bad Sox farms and this isn't it.

I think the farm lacks upside outside of Montgomery, Schultz and Wolkow. They need to inject for upside going forward.

Yeah I saw that, but how much is it off. There is no way the Sox are any higher than the former 26th ranking that MLB gave them right before the season started.

Regardless of anybody's ranking, the Sox farm system sucks.

I'll stick with Baseball America thanks.

Ok that's fine with me, so according to the last Baseball America published rankings, the Sox are 26th instead of 29. Seriously, does it really matter? The Sox farm system sucks no matter who ranks them.

Like others have mentioned, as it stands right I'd put them in the bottom third of systems. We'll see if that's altered any post-deadline. I don't disagree that the system is still lacking, but I wouldn't define it as trash either.

Like others said here they go with Baseball America and the Sox last were 26th by them. Since when is 26th not trash? When the ERA at AAA is dead last at 6.36 and 2nd to last in AA at 5.30 ERA, you can see why no matter what source you find, they will be near the bottom on anybody's list and not sure how that isn't defined as trash.

I think it depends if you are actually trying to understand whats going on with the farm or just enjoying some disaster porn. The sox farm will struggle with depth due to how they operate and their market restrictions, but there is also some high level players that are more interesting than are typically found in a sox farm.

All I'm saying is that the stat-line scouting of collective numbers like you mentioned points out obvious flaws, of which I'm not disputing. But strictly looking at those and basing an opinion on that doesn't take into account the context of said numbers or the individual output of certain players vs journeyman gas-cans and roster fillers. It's important to dive into the individuals that are most likely to help the club, and I believe there are a fair amount of interesting options that are in the lower minors.

First of all, I do know what's going on with our farm system. I'm not enjoying posting your disaster porn as you so ridiculously claimed. No mater what source find our Sox farm is flawed. Facts are facts.

Secondly,  we all know why the Sox farm system sucks. It is because of a horrible front office run by Hahn, garbage scouting, bad drafts picks and terrible player development. If you don't like hearing that than that's fine, then you can thanks your Hahn for that.

Thirdly, yes we have some decent high level prospects, but so does every other farm system. The problem is we don't have enough of them to make a difference bring up to the majors, like the Rays, Orioles, Dodgers, etc.

If you want to be naive and believe its all good down there, that your choice.

Yes there are some interesting prospects down in the minors, but not enough to help now or by next season. The good ones are in low and high A. We for sure don't have prospects ready to go at the big league level like the Dodgers, Reds, Guardians and Orioles have.

I never said I liked to read Bleacher Report. You just put words in my mouth. Actually I have rarely read anything from them.

I did a google search on MLB updated farm system rankings and the Bleacher Report ranking came up. You can do the same and see what pulls up.

Again what you are missing is, even if it's not the most creditable source, it's fairly close to Baseball America which seems to be the official creditable source by everyone here.

You can search all you want and you will not find any baseball site who has the Sox ranked past 26. If you don't like it than blame your POS GM Rick Hahn

And what we are saying is we care about baseball America putting the Sox 26th because they get live looks on players and get good information, and don’t care about bleacher report even if it ranked Sox #1 because it is written for people who google “updated farm system rankings”
