That instinct has been proven wrong with TB and Miami attendance issues. Domed stadiums are challenging. Perhaps Orlando and Vegas can work eventually. See the current President if you want to see really bad examples of this. TN was never a realistic option after all the public monies were committed to the Titans' facility. You could even argue there's less of a need for a Nashville mlb team with the tens of millions pouring into the SEC for sports like men's and women's basketball, gymnastics, baseball coaches and staff more highly paid than big league teams. If there's ever going to be another two MLB markets...one of them is either Charlotte or a third Texas team across the South.

As much as I would love to see a team in the San Antonio/Austin region I don't think it will happen. While San Antonio is a large city, it doesn't have the corporate presence that other cities have. PaleAleSox
It’s really bizarre if he followed Sox people today if all he did was buy a little more of minority stocks. Interesting. He also knows you’d all notice.

bmags
13 hours ago, Texsox said: I've been trying to find an article that links winning with a higher valuation. All baseball franchises have increased tremendously in value. I wonder if someone looks at the purchase price and thinks they would spend another 100 million if the team won 70 games. Maybe 200 million more if they won 90? It seems like stadium deal, TV revenue, salaries, etc would have as much, or even more, affect on the sales price. Now a long tradition of success has a value, I'm not certain a couple winning seasons would get a buyer to forget the past 125 years. There was an article on this for the Philadelphia Eagles, but that’s nfl. I would guess STL would be best baseball example, and you can see how the recent lethargy has taken a toll.

tray
I did a web search in order to look at the Ishbia's Winnetka residence on Lake Michigan. I find it interesting to look at large estate properties and mansions like MJ had. It became clear that the Ishbias spared no effort or cost to get what they wanted and end up where they wanted to be. The take away for me as a Sox fan is that they could live anywhere but chose the Chicago area to put roots down. Same goes for Mellody Hobson who owns several properties in Chicago.
